I literally came to get lunch. I could not leave with my lunch because there were 40 people in line. I waited and I waited. I went to the customer service and the scale is broken so they couldn’t weigh my salad. I have never walked out of a grocery store before with food sitting in a cart until today. Get it together! You have a bar in the grocery store with a bartender, but you don’t have people working the registers. I’m not coming back and I’m also contacting corporate. Shrugs!

Great & very busy location. Good quality stuff and excellent customer service. Lines tend to be long, but the employees move quickly and check you out fast. Especially good, reasonably priced salad bar.

Of the two Harris Teeter locations in Charlottesville (not counting Crozet, that's not Charlottesville), this one has the greatest selection. The staff are super friendly and always helpful. Due to the proximity to UVA, this location does get busy, and parking can be a challenge,especially on weekends. However, there's a great selection of international and ethnic foods, and the deli is always a well stocked. Well worth a visit!

They are the best place to get a made to order sub in Charlottesville. With everyone else raising their prices and lowering the quality of ingredients, they still offer a sub or lunch combo at a reasonable price and use fresh ingredients.

Great store & shelving displays are usually full & well stocked . Need to hire more cashiers . ( this has been bad since KROGER takeover ?! Need to get more flavors of FANCY FEAST !! Overall one of the best grocery stores in town !

I work as a Shipt Shopper and need to find items fast to deliver groceries on a deadline. When I couldn't find an item I asked an employee where it would be and even though she said she doesn't work in that department, she helped me and pointed me directly to where it would be.

Ex employee here, job wasn’t hard per say I was just treated poorly when I did quit a bit to help out. From the beginning Harris Teeter was quite shady, customer service workers would write down my schedule after I told them the days I could work then magically days later they would call me and ask where I was and why I wasn’t at work on days I told them I could not work. One of these customer service workers (Caucasian female) actually took things a step further and singled out not only me (a Black male) and my co worker (also a Black male) quite frequently as well another co worker (Latino male). I don’t like to put the racist label on people due to the fact it can ruin your life, especially now a days but this woman showed several signs of racial discrimination on the job. One instance she told me and my other black co worker to “go find something to do” pretty much brushing us off as if we r not being supervised under her. This was also the day this same customer service worker LAUGHED at me for needing help using a old vacuum cleaner due to my fear of breaking the pedal on it. Alas, This was not the straw that broke the camels back. Just last week during my shift I was asked to open up on a register to pull customers during a decently busy afternoon. This SAME customer service worker tells me in a very strict and disrespectful tone “you are not to move from this register and if I see you’ve moved I will move you down”. I had been nothing but polite to this woman from the moment I met her and she feels as if she can speak to me in any manor she pleases due to me being a minor. This situation, though irking me heavily, somehow allowed me to keep my composure and call my parents so they could come to my job and speak with this woman. She ultimately apologized but after a certain point, sorry doesn’t fix everything. I say all of this to say, this Harris teeter on Emmett street in Charlottesville Virginia needs to be investigated for mistreatment in the workplace and racial discrimination!

Took my independent 92 year old client here to pick up a few things today. I reiterate independent because he takes pride in being that way at his age and only using a walker. Anywho, once we made it to one of the only 2 lines taking people I as well as my client was made to feel uncomfortable.The cashier decided it was okay to question why my client did not have a cart, she then turns to me and says something along the lines of “you should be helping him with the cart atleast”. Not that it matters or was any of her concern but because we were only getting a few items my client decided as soon as we entered the store that he did not want a cart.(He usually puts his walker under the basket and pushes the basket for longer shopping trips.)It’s actually funny because the lady in the front watched as I pulled out the same size cart twice looking for a “smaller one” which we didn’t find so I decided I would just use a handheld. Either way, very rude, very unprofessional and uncalled for.

Went in to get flowers. When I got there they were in a very inconvenient basket that didn't sit well in the seats. They tipped over and spilled a cup of water in my seats. The lady was very curt and just uninterested in doing her job. Never again

Always happy with Harris Teeter compared to several of the other local grocery markets. Harris Teeter has plenty of everything and then some. Produce quality is always top notch along with everything else.

Now owned by Kroger, I understand, Harris Teeter is fun to visit. The variety and quality of their upscale products, the top quality meat department, and the fresh produce is worth every extra dollar. The Kroger store at the other end of the shopping center is fine for everyday items, but Harris Teeter excels at quality and hard to find grocery items. The store is very clean and the employees are friendly and knowledgeable.

This is a wonderful store with a great staff. I get excellent customer service, especially by Charles. The store is clean and pleasant to shop in. My only concern is that the prices are higher then I can get elsewhere (Kroger's). However, the shopping experience is good, having a Starbucks there is convenient, and being able to have a quick pint makes it worth it.

I work and frequently shop in Charlottesville and miss our store in my home town. Today I did not bring my card (VIC) when picking up coffee and to my surprise the clerk did not use a store card and charged me full price(items where half price from flyer). Pretty steep price for not bringing my card. I don’t plan on visiting Harris Teeter again any time soon. That was simply mean spirited!! Too bad they lost their customer this time.

I walked into Harris Teeter this morning and was impressed how fresh and vibrant the store looked. The hit was was magnificent and all the staff were extremely cheerful and helpful. Hood say you start my morning just by walking into your store and having such a great energy. Produce, deli, bakery YOU’LL ROCK!

First time visiting in years… asked the self checkout. Leek why all the other lanes were closed and she bulged her eyes out and screamed WHAT! , so I asked again only for her to scream because we are short staffed! I really wasn’t being rude, just wondered if it was a new policy…. But it’s okay, I like Kroger better anyway.

I occasionally walk from my job over to this Harris Teeter for the salad bar. The salad bar is always well-stocked and clean. I have always experienced friendly workers at this store. My one complaint is that the lines around lunch time are always long and there are never enough registers open at that time. The self check out lines have repeatedly had multiple computers down, so that only a few were open. Overall though, this is a great supermarket.

First time at a Harris T. We were looking for salmon, pork chops, and a few other things.There was a Wegman’s nearby, and I was wondering if HT was going to be as good. We were impressed! Great service, spacious isles, and great choices in seafood, meat, etc.

With a student discount and amazing VIC specials, I haven't found a place to get food for cheaper. it's all relatively good quality, especially if you seek out the organic produce, but otherwise, it's a great one top shop for cheap and decent groceries.

Pretty fantastic selection of locally sourced seasonal produce. The cheese department is top notch; as is the bulk-flowers (for home arranging). Groceries are "eh"...it's a chain. BUT the friendly staff makes it worth the trip. Seems they don't mind being there! Debra (front end manager) always has time for a pleasant word.

The only place you can actually find freshly squeezed orange juice. It's amazing. I go there only for that but it is a good place to buy fresh food and always have something that surprises me. a little bit more expensive than Kroger. For day to day shopping I don't suggest it
