Good quality coffee and a nice atmosphere for enjoying it! The seasonal beverages are always pretty good if you like trying something than the standard latte or drip coffee. Only thing is that it can be a bit pricey, so be prepared to pay a little more for your beverage of choice. Overall, a good place to come for an afternoon pick me up!

I was at Costco one morning and wanted coffee so I searched for locations in the area and found Grit. The coffee was good but one thing that stood out I was impressed with was the customer service. At my first time at Grit, the guy working the register did a great job walking me through on how the coffee and everything was done. The interior looked cozy, vibrant where people can get work done. My only complaint though would be the price of the coffee but I'm sure it's out of control to keep the business running. Overall, great experience and hope to be back soon.

Good thing up front: the High Five coffee was unique and delicious. Since I couldn’t find the info on-line, here it is. Espresso poured over raw sugar, half and half and sea salt on top. Now, the rest: we ordered a raspberry scone and a blueberry muffin. I noticed that 2 of the scones were pretty dark/burnt, so I asked for the one in the middle. They gave me one of the burnt ones. Also, by the time my coffee was finally ready, my partner had nearly finished eating. This is even though there were not that many people waiting. The scone was not good tasting or texture, and there were precious few blueberries in the muffin. Pretty disappointing. We didn’t finish either of the baked goods.

Grit Coffee Roaster in Charlottesville is a hidden espresso gem in central Virginia. The quality of their espresso is great and hard to find elsewhere. The staff is exceptionally attentive, ensuring a delightful coffee experience. The espresso shot was excellent, and the latte texture was spot on. Highly recommended for coffee aficionados seeking top-notch espresso.

They have decent drip coffee, and dairy substitutes like oat milk for no additional charge, but there is a $1 charge if you substitute for non-dairy in a latte. They offer rewards which can add up pretty quickly if you come here regularly that can get you free drinks. Their lattes are good, not too sweet but just the right amount of sweetness if you add a flavor. I recommend their caramel or hazelnut. They also have flavors like Irish cream and almond, which I don’t prefer but might work for others. They don’t have many pastry options - pretty much just croissants - so not the place if you want a coffee and a treat, or breakfast options. They also don’t offer whipped cream, if you enjoy adding that to your coffee like I do, you won’t get that here.Overall, a very nice vibe, friendly staff, good coffee. Would recommend stopping by.

Anytime, I find others thinking for someone else, especially in a “professional” setting, it’s not appropriate.Coming to get coffee, not going to see a therapist…serve coffee, not opinions, and definitely not feelings. To call the police and put words in another’s mouth is slandering someone’s name, “he said he was going to beat me up”. That’s painting an image that you want painted to validate your emotions.Do better, please.Highly regret supporting as much as I have.

Decent coffee, good atmosphere, but looks like the baked goods are made with gold dust or saffron. Suffice it to say, NOT selling like hotcakes. (What happens to them at the end of the day?:( ) Memo: a filled croissant is probably €1.50 max in Italy...and the cost of diesel is much higher in Europe, so this ain't about structural reasons.

The smell of the coffee alone was so wonderful! Our group tried a few different coffees and all were very tasty!

Drink was fantastic, the two folks ringing me up and making my drink were v nice and professional, but I feel the place is pretty white washed otherwise and lacked any visual support of anyone outside that vibe, which means I sat outside despite the heat. Maybe I didn't look hard, but I shouldn't have to ✌🏼

Grit is THE BEST! The staff at both downtown and Stonefield in Charlottesville are friendly, they remember my name, my drink order, and no coffee shop in town comes close to making a better iced vanilla latte. <3<3<3Vegetarian options: Egg and cheese on English muffin. Plenty of baked goods. Apple cider donuts are delicious!Dietary restrictions: Gluten free and vegetarian options.

I do not understand the chokehold Grit has on the Charlottesville area. The coffee is just okay. Don't get it black, it tastes burnt. If you do get coffee here, get the specialty drink with brown sugar, that is actually pretty good. It's very hard to find seating here on a weekend, even if you come early, so don't plan to stay. if you do, the acoustics here are a little off and it can be hard to concentrate so make sure you bring headphones.Parking: plentiful, all around the area

It’s good to note that this location does not serve breakfast like the downtown location. They also never seem to steam the milk quite right.

We love grit! The stonefield location is a little more limited in seating; however, their maple leaf latte is hands down my favorite coffee. A great place to meet a friend or spend an afternoon outside reading!

Friendly staff and Quick service. Clean location. It has better coffee than the big Seattle company and the prices are more reasonable. Got an iced latte, coffee was good, didn't taste burnt and gave me the kick i needed. Nothing life grabbing a coffee and waking around this area. I would recommend this coffee shop.

To preface this, I am not a coffee/espresso/caffeinated beverage drinker given my insane sensitivity to caffeine. Nevertheless, I tried many coffee drinks, visited coffee farms and had super authentic fresh brews, but was not impressed nor did I understand the addiction. A couple days ago out of the blue, I had a craving for an espresso so I came to Grit on Bond St. I asked for a half caff (didn't know that was a thing) almond milk latte. I've been craving that latte for a couple days now. I'm drinking one as we speak, though not as delicious as Grit's. I think Grit may have turned me into an espresso drinker! Special thanks to the folks who took care of my order - they were very patient, friendly, and helpful!Dietary restrictions: Dairy free
