I am so happy to have found Dogtopia! It took my dog, Jane, a while to settle in and get comfortable but now she whines to go! She and I both love Dogtopia, not just for day care but for boarding as well. Every staff member sincerely loves dogs and I feel good every time I leave her in their loving care - and so does she!

Their website says "recommend" 3 days of daycare before dog boarding. "RECOMMEND". So I was surprised when I called and they said it's "required". My dog has done plenty of doggydaycares and boardings and have never had this much difficulty getting a business to take my money. How about updating your website? Thanks!

Was informed before the meet and greet that they have a no exceptions policy that dogs must be neutered by the age of 7 months, but 2 vets and a quick Google search show the absolute conclusion that is better,at least for larger breed dogs like my lab, to wait until they're at least a year. Can you imagine a daycare requiring you to vaccinate your children before theyre ready to attend?Response to response: really, no consensus? study for a study? Google "when to neuter my lab" and see if you cant gather a quick consensus. I cannot find a single study remotely suggesting to neuter before 9 months, with 12 to 18 months seeming to be the most common recommendation, but everyone seems to be 100% agreed that doing it too early commonly leads to health issues including joint issues and cancers!

Signed my little pup up for a meet and greet. They took her to the back for 10 minutes and said she was good to go. I didn’t get a tour. Some guy in big boots came out the back and said, “Who are you?” Weird. So they give me three free days. I’m watching the webcam which I’m glad I found because no employees here mentioned those. And my puppy is just sitting in a corner. No food no water. No person watching. They didn’t even mention if I should bring her food or water or what the daily routine is. I don’t trust this place. I’m leaving a family member here and I don’t even know what I’m leaving her to.

I use Dogtopia to allow my girl Reese to socialize and get a break from her job as a bike shop dog. She loves to go and be able to run around and play, I feel comfortable knowing there is always someone supervising and breaking up any possible aggressions. She is usually asleep by the time we pull out of the parking lot! Their hours are perfect for me since you can pick up until 7:30pm....I work till 7pm, otherwise there's nowhere else I could take her and she would miss out on so much FUN! I also love that I can log in and see what she's doing with their video camera access. We both LOVE Dogtopia!!

Dogtopia is just what I have been looking for to help my "pandemic puppy" learn to better socialize with other doggos. The staff carefully evaluated my dog, listened to my concerns, and helped my pup have a great play day even though she is generally apprehensive around other dogs. We will be returning for further doggy daycare and I am thrilled to have a place to board her that puts my mind at ease. I appreciate the caring staff and cheerful surroundings. Four paws up!

Always a great experience! The Webcams provide great peace of mind. My dog is excited whenever we drop him off and tired when he comes home. The staff is friendly and they remember my dog each time we visit, even though he is an infrequent visitor.

The intake process was fast and simple to make sure that our "beast" was compatible with the other dogs. The staff are nice and professional and clearly love dogs, so there's never a worry about how well she will be taken care of at Day Care. We like being able to look at the Webcam just to see her playing. Also, for us, living north of Charlottesville, the Dogtopia location is VERY convenient for us to drop her off and pick her up.

We had previously been using a different dog boarding place in Charlottesville, but we recently decided to reevaluate! Enter in Dogtopia - our pup LOVES it! He just spent his first weekend at Dogtopia and he’s been asleep ever since returning home. We love the webcam features, and we even opted to have his nails trimmed and that he get a quick back before check out. They had him squeaky clean when we came to pick him up! Overall - great price, great people, great services, 15/10! Thanks, Dogtopia!

Can’t say enough positive things about the staff at Charlottesville. They treat the pups as their own. My dogs love daycare and are always #dogtopia tired after a fun day of play. Unfortunately, lack of daycare cleanliness has sent us to the vet one too many times and it has deterred us from daycare play. The crowded playrooms at Dogtopia could be the culprit.

From the moment I walked in the door I felt welcomed and supported. I was more nervous than my dog for the meet and greet. The staff were relaxed yet engaged and exceeded my expectations. The staff do truly care for you and your pup. I’m so excited to have my dog stay at Dogtopia again.

Never again. My dog was visibly shaking; it was quite loud that day. The tech did not introduce herself nor try to interact with her prior to disappearing behind a somewhat unfamiliar door. My dog is a bit apprehensive and did not really want to go so the tech starting pulling hard on her leash. After some time she reappeared and requested help from another for an undisclosed reason. When they appeared with my girl, I asked if everything was ok because it took an inordinate amount of time to simply do nails. They were not done to my satisfaction in consideration for how long they had my dog. She favored her rear left leg for 4 days and has recently been able to run and play as normal. Shes been crying out in pain while getting up on the sofa and absolutely would not jump in nor out of the truck. I am beyond disappointed and borderline irrate.

The ladies who met us for evaluation were very friendly, informative , and helpful. The facility is very clean, well organized, and cheerfully decorated. Our 1 1/2year old boxer loved the attention she was given and was excited to meet the other dogs she’ll be able to play with. We’re confident she’ll be well taken care of while she’s there.

One of the best parts is that the drop off and pick up hours are designed for working people. Besides that - the care givers really care about the pups and if you're an overprotective pet parent you can watch your little one on the webcam. My little one loves to hang out with the staff more than playing with the dogs and that's quite ok for as long as she has a good time. She loves to go there and she makes sure to go potty before we enter the building. Isabella and I highly recommend Dogtopia.

We could not be happier with our experience at Dogtopia. We started bringing our Vizsla puppy here in order to socialize him with other dogs during COVID while some dog parks were closed and it has been such a great experience. The staff is incredibly friendly, they clearly love the dogs, and the pricing options are very reasonable.

We were visiting Charlottesville for the day and our dog got into a BUNCH of huge sandspurs on a walk and needed them trimmed off her feet. Dogtopia was right across the street, and Megan was so amazing. The location was obviously very busy, but she took the time to help us out in an emergency situation. Thanks so much, Megan!

I've never been past the reception counter, but my dog has. He seems to really love it. The second time he got to go, he almost tore my arm off lunging for the door. When I picked him up, he was exhausted. I hope the employees who keep a close eye on the dogs wear ear plugs.Very friendly staff. Chumley can't wait to go back.

awful. the dogs are kenneled 90% of the day. I boarded here and pretty sure my dogs weren't fed. I bought a brand new bag of dog food and it didn't look like any of it was touched. I'm glad they have cameras because you can see just how often the dogs are kenneled up. find somewhere else.

Please do not bring your dog here. My dogs eye was damaged and they didn’t say anything. They even gave him a bath and decided to keep it from me. They refused to refund me for the issue and would not help. This place is terrible every time my dog stays he comes home smelling awful and looking sad. Please if you care about your dog find somewhere else to go. F U dogtopia.

We've traveled many places with our camper in tow and often stop at Dogtopia. This review is for our local Dogtopia in Charlottesville. It's conveniently located on the Northern end of Albemarle County near Dunkin Donuts, Anytime Fitness, and the bowling alley. Our pups really enjoy going and it's so nice to have a place where they can exercise and socialize. They really enjoy it as they don't hesitate to go to the back after they go in. I appreciate the webcams so I can check on them during the day. They have a rest time from 12-2. Saturdays and Sundays are half days and so are Mondays throughout October.
