AVOID!!! I waited 15 minutes in the drive through to get my prescription . Finally, when it was my turn, I pulled up to the window and the metal gate started coming down and closed. No acknowledgement, no sign, nothing. I waited another 5 minutes or so thinking, “there is no way they just shut this window on me without saying hi, without saying sorry we are closed for lunch, without putting up a sign.”After hitting the call button twice someone finally answered to tell me that “they were closed for lunch.” They had decided not to tell anyone, not to acknowledge that I had been waiting, and not even put up a sign. When I expressed how utterly ridiculous that was, that the base level of human decency involves letting a customer know that you are closed, they replied, “there used to be a sign.”THERE USED TO BE A SIGN!!!!!!!!!It’s like all the decent employees have gone to other pharmacies and all that are left are people who decided this was reasonable. Just shut the door on them. I have never received such a treatment until today and frankly I never thought a pharmacy could make me this livid.Clearly online reviews mean nothing to this CVS. I am writing a letter to corporate, and will be mailing it using a stamp. That is how fervently I recommend you avoid this pharmacy.

Completely dysfunctional, I can’t believe they are allowed to operate in the manner they do. In the past week they have refused on arrival for my appointment to give a vaccine that they had approved earlier that day, rescheduled same vaccine for 3 days later with assurances they can administer and upon arrival they say they have no available staff to administer the scheduled vaccine, today after 23 minutes on hold on phone to notify them I was there in parking lot to pick up prescription - COVID positive picking up meds for COVID so I cant go inside - and they have closed the drive through and then the call was disconnected with a message saying ‘thanks for calling cvs, goodbye’. They also have their phones off, so when another pharmacy tried to have it transferred over, they couldn’t get through last night or today.

I had to fill a prescription quickly and I was a little worried given the negative reviews here. My prescription was filled in 15 minutes and the entire pharmacy team was kind, courteous and responsive. Thank you very much - we will come back here without hesitation! I really appreciate your professionalism and help!

My child was discharged from hospital and I called ahead to make sure a prescription was going to be ready. I called after 6pm and the person in the pharmacy was made aware we were in process of leaving the hospital and we would likely arrive at the pharmacy in about 2 hours. We arrived at 8:10pm. They closed at 8pm. She never mentioned the pharmacy closes at 8pm. Now we have to come back tomorrow. It’s a mighty good thing I have a few doses of my child’s seizure medication. The person working at the pharmacy knew the medication’s importance.

Another bad experience. Usually don’t write reviews but this was an incredibly bad experience. Came in a 9am for a prescription that was digitally sent by my doctor. Have them an hour then came to pick up. They provided a lame excuse saying the prescription needed clarification. Well after 3 hours later the best I could get is I don’t now why it’s not filled. Asked to have them transfer the prescription. Not confident it will happen so I’ll have my doc office send it. I have had my prescriptions filled here for 6 years. At this point I’m over it.

Showed up early for a COVID vaccine and made me wait until appointment time although only one person was waiting before me and it took about 2 minutes for them to administer. If they do walk ins on demand, why was I forced to wait 20 minutes to be closer to my scheduled time. Just a heads up that according to them it takes 10-15 minutes to draw another dose after previous does is administered to another customer. So walk in means you could be here a half hour plus since they make you wait, unsupervised by the way, 10-15 minutes after to see if there you have any issues. No one hangs around to make certain you are waiting or checks in to see if you are ok so not sure of purpose. Person before me just got up and walked out after 5 minutes. Point being that it is not as quick and easy as advertised even with an appointment.

Been here many times. Extremely slow and inefficient.Every time when i need to get the prescription, I have to stand at the counter for looooooong time before someone can come and ask what i need. Or when I wanted to buy some regular medicine and asked the staff there, they had no idea where the medicine was and just let me find it by myself.Another thing is, looks like there is no ATT signal inside the store. Waiting becomes even more boring without internet. This time, I had an vaccine appointment. When I arrived, they told me to wait for another 2 hours, If you cannot guarantee, why asked me to come?I hating coming here but my doctor always send me prescription here. So.. no choice…

New location; it looks expensive... 1 month in understaffed pharmacy. I'm standing in line after waiting 3 hours for my 4 year old son's medication for his pneumonia. "3 pharmacy calls" is repeating over and over from the phone, 6 people behind me and there's 2 in the drive through. 1 pharmacist who is running around so much I would understand if she quits tonight. Otherwise, everyone is super nice... just way understaffed. This will be my last time coming here and I suggest you'd steer clear of this location. Terrible management.

I have been down here 3 times to pick up one medication and it's still not ready. The pharm tech is rude and not very helpful. I understand its short staffed but you can get more work done if you put your cell phone down. The pharmacist never picks up the phone, so you may want to pray you don't have an emergency. This is crazy!

I have never shared a bad review before, but my experience with this CVS has been unacceptable. I had a prescription for something which they made very complicated to receive. They would present me with an issue, but did not tell me everything at once. When I fixed one problem, another came up. The pharmacy techs were extremely unhelpful and had poor customer service. Much of the time, they did not even believe me when I explained a situation to them. The straw that broke the camels back, however, is that they mislabeled my prescription, saying that my medication vials were single use vials, even though I can use them 3-4 times. That created a lot of confusion and caused me to waste money (what I was told from the pharmacy was a one month supply should have lasted three months).

Generally this pharmacy location was ok, they do drive through, they get me my prescriptions. However, they have no communication. I have been trying to call the for 2 days to talk about a prescription and no one has answered the phone. Not even to answer and ask me to wait, which I could understand. Just hours of listening to the terrible hold music which reminds me every 15 seconds that I can get a vaccine there.

Called customer service again to deal with time it took to fill prescription and supplying additional pills not on prescription. Thankfully they weren’t a narcotic. Pharmacy and customer service deserve a negative 5 stars.

I’ve only had positive experiences at the Barracks Road/Emmet Street location. The team in the pharmacy works hard to deliver good customer service and helpful advice.

Awful pharmacy. Someone else on here stated that they "forget" to bill through insurance. They're right. Seems almost intentional. My patients have stated the same. Then the same happened to me. I'll have to file a report. Then they put you on hold for forty five minutes, pick up and say "give me two more minutes" then put you on hold for another twenty minutes, then HUNG UP.Not to mention that they didn't have my prescription ready, despite receiving it 4 hours earlier, after my surgery. They then said it would take an hour to fill. We said we would come by the next morning, and they STILL DIDN'T HAVE IT READY then. This place is unbelievable. They can get away with it because CVS doesn't hold their employees accountable. Shame on the pharmacists there, manage your staff.

If you want your meds, go somewhere else. When you don't have the staff to vaccinate and fill prescriptions, you need to fill prescriptions. I watched as this one overworked pharmacist vaccinated people while everyone was being turned away from getting their prescriptions after waiting hours and DAYS. Being turned away after waiting 1+ days for your medication is a regular occurrence at this CVS. If you don't have the staff to fill prescriptions either, notify everyone that you are going to close your pharmacy and send the scripts somewhere else. This is how you kill people. This CVS should close until it can get its self together. I wish I could give a 0 star review.

Convenience, value, service...... Oh please! I was on hold for 45 minutes and then the tech hung up on me. They didn't bill insurance, so price was $400. "Oh, were we supposed to run it through insurance?". Two hours later and they still haven't gotten to it. CVS Target is run extremely well, too bad a brand new beautiful store had no impact on service at Barracks road, remains consistently poor.

Perhaps the only pharmacy open in CVL on Sunday afternoon, I was able to walk in with a prescription for an antibiotic at 4:15 and leave with the prescription filled before 5. They were super busy the entire time, but still managed to get me what I needed. The team was also kind and keeping their cool despite the line and 6pm rush.

Least helpful CVS pharmacy I've ever encountered - while CVS is not renowned for customer service, this location brings it to a new low. In short, they operate for their convenience not yours. I used the app to attempt to refill and renew a prescription, knowing it would require a few extra days to get a new perscription - when i called to check three days later why I hadn't gotten a notice, I was told that would require them to send a fax, they can't do that. It is worth going further away to save on aggravation.

They never pick up the phone. You just talk to that STUPID robot voice until you go insane and cry. Going here the lines are always long, Rx never ready on time, a family member of mine schedule a covid test here, arrived on time to find all test that day had been canceled without informing those who scheduled an appointment.

The lines at the pharmacy and cash registers have been ridiculously long every time I have been to this new location. There were 11 people in line to get prescriptions today and 14 in line for the cash registers, and that has been typical each time I’ve visited. They need to have more staff in each shift.

Pharmaceutical staff could use some customer service training when I comes to phone calls. Unnecessarily rude and short. To the lady I spoke to. Im sorry if your job sucks. Mine does too. We all have better things to do, myself included. Please get over your BS and at least try to be helpful in the future.

If there were a zero stars option I would have given that rating, but there wasn't. Rude, unhelpful staff who don't care. I have never once been here without having to wait for at least 30 plus minutes, even if I call in my prescription days in advance. There's always a snag (aka human error ) with my script or the 20 people in front of me, and typically only one cashier. Can't wait to move all my stuff to a new pharmacy, ugh.

Staff is very rude. Management is very unhelpful and useless. If there a no star I would give them just that. I went in there to withdraw money and their atm froze up on me and my card got locked up inside it. Instead of them taking accountability, they told me that I WOULD HAVE TO CALL THE ATM COMPANY. They told me there was NOTHING they could do about it. I told them I needed my debit card and this is the only debit card I have. They told me basically too bad and offered no solution. The manager came over and call the atm company, telling me that I needed to contact my bank to get this unlocked. I called my bank and they said the CVS manager had to call them. The manager REFUSED to help me further. I called the ATM COMPANY, they remotely unlocked my card and I, not the the manager but I had to schedule a ATM technician to come out to repair the machine.... talk about terrible customer service?? I think yes! Never shopping here again. I'll drive the extra 3 miles to the other one instead that is totally out of my way.

Dear CVS staff,I get it, you are overworked and underpaid.Do the humans who are standing in line like a bunch of feed cattle waiting for a bullet to the brain a favor:1. Go into the cooler, grab a drink with caffeine. Slam it. Do not pay, it is on the house.2. Go back into the cooler, grab a drink with alcohol. Slam it. Do not pay, it is on the house.3. Turn your frown upside down and use that beautiful blend of nitro coursing through your veins and help the troglodyte humans dying in line!4. If you need more energy, repeat steps 1 & 2There is a large line of people waiting for life saving medicine. You are doing Gods work. Grab yourself by the long Johns and please, get it done.Regards,Humanity

Staff is not answering the drive thru. Staff is incompetent with insurance and has to call insurance company to fill a rx for our son because his name is not on insurance card. No one but the subscriber (my husband) has ever been on our card and we've been filling with cvs under the same insurance for years. we had no problem filling his rx at the long street location. We will not fill ou prescriptions at this location again. We've been waiting for 45 minutes for an rx that was called in yesterday.

Last two times I came here to pick up my prescription meds, I waited 30-45 minutes. So I ordered for 5pm and came at 540, only to find my meds still not ready. Apparently it will take me another 15 minutes. It sounds like to me cvs needs to update their website so you can’t overflow the orders, or hire more pharmacists for the rush hour... I really don’t think anyone has the time to wait this long.

Absolutely the most RIDICULOUS pharmacy experience I have ever had. For the third time now, I’ve shown up 4+ hours after my rX was called in only for them to tell me “they don’t have it” and when I insist repeatedly that it was called in hours ago, they realize they haven’t filled it and I have to wait 30+ minutes for them to fill it. Never again. I thought it was because it was a new location so I let it go the first time but this is absolutely absurd- why would anyone use this pharmacy with so many other options and zero hassle anywhere else? Horrible! Do yourself a favor and use Harris Teeter or a local pharmacy!

It appears that I am not the only one who had a bad experience with this pharmacy. The staff are very incompetent and lack customer service skills-first they made a mistake with my prescription dosage and messed up the dates when the prescription was picked up, and then they refused to make it right acting as if they don't know anything. This was the first and last time I used cvs pharmacy.

I've had issues with not experiencing this things at my old CVS location, but this location was wonderful!Friendly staff and quick! In the 15 minutes between leaving my doctor and getting home, when I called to see if they had the meds (3) and when they'd be ready for pickup, 2 were already done and they were working on the third!

My daughter has a double ear infection. All pharmacies out our way are closed. After searching we found out the Barracks Rd CVS Pharmacy in Cville stayed open until 8. We drive 45 mins there, arrive somewhere between 7:00-7:10. Just to get turned down just because they have "7 pages of prescriptions left to fill". Even after explaining why we needed it so badly and how far we came, the person "helping" us not only didn't show any sympathy, but actually got an attitude as if we were wasting more of his time. The store MANAGER even tried to get it filled. But the pharmacists basically refused to. That choice was litterally left up to them. THIS is the problem with the world today. I've finally realized it's not just "our luck" of running into these people we deal with on a daily basis, that's just how people are programmed nowadays. It's not about helping anyone. Very heartless group of people. You will NEVER get our business.
