This shop has most everything you could want along with livestock you don’t normally see in big box stores. The store owner is a pretty nice guy who knows his stuff. A small gripe is teaching staff how to handle the aquarium hobby time wasters. I was waiting the better part of a half hour waiting to be helped while an employee was assisting this man who was bragging about his aquarium and being wishy washy about fish. It wasn’t until another guy who was busy cleaning tanks (I wasnt gonna bother the guy doing upkeep work for obvious reasons) helped me out that I got what I requested. While I was checking out this employee was still trying to sell livestock to what is obviously the guy in the pic related.

Visited the local aquarium shop and had a wonderful experience! The staff was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly, assisting me with all my queries. The shop itself is well-organized, and the variety of fish and accessories exceeded my expectations. It's a gem for any aquarium enthusiast, and I'll definitely be returning for future purchases.

There are stores with healthier fish at more competitive prices within an hour of this location. I’ve only been a few times because each time there seems to be at least two tanks with ick or similar common sickness. The selection is very limited and no coral (minus $45 purple cabbage leather). I do not recommend.

Lots of tanks which could use cleaning, plenty of algae. Tanks and cabinets are old and rusty. They have almost no plants for sale. Most of the fish, especially saltwater ones are tiny. They do have a ton of equipment for sale though. I would say this business is just "ok". For those of you who do not believe me, just go to the aquarium place in Woodbridge. Night and day difference! Seeing is believing.

First! I was pulled in when I found out they are actually capable of acquiring the rare fish I desire! They also take request and contact you when the fish you've been wanting comes in!I decided I will learn as much as I can and thoroughly prepare for my new companion. The staff is welcoming and impressively knowledgeable about all forms of aquatics. They clearly demonstrate ethical aquatic care and they want to help you prepare for the best outcome. I look forward to working with them and learning from them. I hope you do too!

All of my fish I bought here. One pleco died but you win some and you lose some. On the winning side when I got the dead pleco and 2 corrie cats the fish store guy accidentally got a tiny extra fish. Pretty sure it died. But overall great store I go here all the time. Recommended

They had a nice selection of fresh and salt water fish. There stores a little messy but it has everything you need. They also have a large variety of tanks in all sizes. It was our first time there and we were very happy in comparison to petsmart. Hopefully these fish last a while.

Beautiful store. I only purchased aquarium plants from here... best selection by far of aquarium plants... but! They sell fast :)) good to check regularly for plants.. sometimes they sell out. ......make sure you ALWAYS quarantine plants anywhere you by them.. any live plants from any store have the possibility of carrying snail eggs/parasites/critters... and usually easy to get rid of if plant with critters are contained and treated ( but not easy If your aquarium is full of em) do your research :D

I have had mixed experience here. First two visits were fine - good advice and healthy stock. Third visit was terrible. Got very bad advice, staff were less knowledgeable and the one person who seemed experienced was distracted and a little rude. It ended in a dead fish and some incredibly miserable fish that I ended up returning as they were not the right fish for the tanks. They gave me a credit for the dead fish, but I won’t be using it as I will not be going back.

My son and I come here frequently and love it for the top notch customer service. I’ve gotten more education about caring for my fish and plants here in the last couple years than in a lifetime of aquarium store visits beforehand.I see some reviews about unhealthy fish, but I have never seen that. We’ve never brought home a sick fish or had one die within days. And the guy that was mad he bought a salt water fish for his fresh water tank…I’m guessing he’s got another one star review out there somewhere for a gas station that didn’t warn him not to put diesel in his non-diesel car.

Obviously its smaller than your massive big box stores(which arent soley fish), however, this places aquariums are extremely clean and well maintained. I saw other reviews of rude staff, I had an entirely different experience. Unfortunately I didnt get either of the names of the 2 employees working. The price I paid was comparable to other stores, but I dont mind paying more to support small businesses anyway. Ill be back!

I love this local fish store. Dave is very helpful and can get you what you want if he doesn't have it. Every once in a while, I get surprised with a fish that you don't often see in most fish stores. The store also has a great selection of aquatic plants, tanks, and aquascaping materials.

Friendly staff, nice rotating selection of freshwater and saltwater aquarium life. Live black worms, feeder snails, and live brine shrimp usually available - call ahead to check. They offer a 20% discount on live fish if you bring in any extras you may have - snails, guppies, etc.

Feels like a store with a lot of potential for a smallish local fish store. One associate seemed pretty helpful but the other felt like he didn't care at all, nor tried. I asked the one associate if I could get a male and female pair of a certain stock, to which he said he didn't know how to tell. Thats fine but the way he said it, didn't pause for a second, and kept scooping displayed his apathy. For one, it's not hard to tell to at least make an educated guess. Bigger body, wider sections, more vivid color, etc are all signs. Did not care. Otherwise he was fine, just more of a robotic employee.Selection is okay overall. Rock, wood, tanks, equipment, fish, inverts, fresh, salt, etc for a small store but otherwise will definitely have more. Prices seemed mixed, some low, some high. Some items were not marked which is not appreciated. I may come back here for another shot if in the area but I wasn't blown away.

I bought several fish here... they ALL died within a few days. Took a couple purchases to realize it was not my tank/water but the livestock.Informed the owner, who acknowledged his fish have ick ‘this time of year.’However he continues to sell bad fish and sticks to his return policy in which he will not honor a refund or store credit if the fish happen to survive longer than 2 days. In this case they do died immediately (as in this case)he will only replace your fish with more sick fish!

This place is good for specialty aquarium needs. It is small so they don’t have a massive selection of livestock but it’s good enough for most needs. It’s about 2/3 freshwater and 1/3 salt.The staff are also very knowledgeable so they’re good for advice. I’ve also noticed the clientele here is very knowledgeable so that probably keeps them on their toes as well. I always try to support them when I can.

Went here for first time yesterday and very unpleasant experience for when walked in two associates were helping a lady and when she left they stayed by register talking ignoring us. My wife had to yell to get someone to help us. The fish are not marked with any information for just has kind of fish and price written on outside of tank. We bought 3 fish one betta and two others my wife selected. We got home and 2 hours later one of the fish died and couple hours later second one died. I called and they told me to bring the fish back with receipt and will get refund. Went the next day and was told the two fish were salt water and there isno warranty on them. I asked why wasn't I told they were salt water fish and was told the associate assumed I had salt water tank. Why didn't he question it since I was buying one fresh water and 2 salt water fish. I will never go here again and if could give minus 5 I would for this business is ripoff.

To be fair, they have one of the most excellent plant selections i have seen but they do sell fast. Lots of verity and at a fair price! The equipment and decoration selection is also fantastic.However, I would recommend not buying fish here. From my visit, I have seen a tank (where the fish were on sale) where some fish had visible ich. Either it is in the tank water or they don’t quarantine their fish before selling. Also, the fish are extremely overpriced compared to petco or petsmart.In addition, they kept their female bettas with pea-puffers, which are notorious fin nippers. Those poor bettas had nothing but stubs as tails.Personally, I will come back for the plants, but the fish seem like a large risk to introduce into your community tank.Edit: Upon another visit, I saw that the ich situation has gotten much better and that the female bettas were moved to a separate tank. I’ll give credit where it’s due, i’m glad things get betterEdit: I visited this store again, and saw a female betta placed with a male betta. Come on guys!

GO HERE! Your fish needs will be met! You won’t feel like you are being “sold” but you will feel taken care of. They have a stamp card rewards system to earn a 20% off your purchase.The staff are all extremely patient, willing to answer any and all your questions; they are knowledgeable, and friendly. At first conditions seem fine but once you go more than a few times you realize that all this store cares about is making a profit. At any time there will be dozens of fish of varying size in tanks ~5 gal maximum. Betta fish are stored with improper tank mates including keeping a male and female betta together. I have seen multiple dead fish almost each visit, which is not so shocking once you see the terrible condition of their resident fish (there was one blue tang in particular that was glass surfing more frantically than I had ever seen before). Only reason I’ve ever gone back is freshwater stores are few and far between. But I will drive an hour if it means I can buy from somewhere that actually cares about the well-being of their live animals. The owner is a tall balding blond man with glasses - trust nothing he says. He’s only trying to take your money. Just ask about their return policy (hint: no matter how much you spend you’ll get a 20% off coupon for your next live fish purchase). Avoid at all costs.
