Well, there are no rooms per se, but they do have small rental cabins available. If you want to get away from everything, this is the place to do it. You can't get much closer to the middle of nowhere, nestled in a small wooded valley with a babbling (brook) creek running through the middle of it and the sounds of nature. Cell service is almost nonexistent unless you can find a sweet spot in a clearing of which there are a couple. Our site had the picnic table right beside the creek, so we could listen to the water running over the rocks as we made breakfast on our tabletop stove. Family-owned and operated, it's not like a KOA or Holiday Trav-L-Park, but full hook-ups are available. There's a small camp store and grill for basic necessities, but it's not fancy, though some of the bathrooms were recently renovated. I believe there are a handful of people who live there year-round, and everyone we met was friendly. It has a rustic charm to it. You'll be 5 miles minimum from the nearest anything. We'd go back if we're vacationing that way again.Noteworthy details: No cable, satellite, or wifi, and cell service is very limited, so be prepared for a potential social media blackout. 😉

If you're looking for a wooded area to camp this one's not so bad. The problem is it's falling apart. Nobody cleans up. There's nowhere to put you trash. The bath houses are filthy. There's dog poop all over all the sites. The garbage cans are slap fool when there's nowhere to drop your garbage off. The swimming pool was broke. The playground is dilapidated and cannot be played on.And they have big dogs running around without was the worst campground I have ever been to...

I'm guessing that something special used to be here but what remains is fairly sad, and comes with a high price for low value. Ended up being mostly seasonal campers with all their stuff scattered about. My site backed up to the creek which sounded great but a quick walk along this stocked trout stream showed far more discarded Busch Light cans than trout. Perhaps it transforms "in season" but wasn't really pleasant and departed at sun up.

Spent a week here in April 2022 and absolutely loved it! The staff are amazing. So helpful and friendly. The store is open 8-7 and they have GREAT food! The bathrooms are clean, hot water and good water pressure. The sites are clean and well maintained and they are super dog friendly. There's a playground, lots of open grass space, a pavilion (where they have karaoke and events), swimming pool and fishing pond. It's really amazing. Highly recommend

No complaints. We stayed here for two nights in our 33 foot class C. The campground feels absolutely remote and is surrounded by beautiful forest. The road up to the campground gets a bit narrow near the end, and I'm not sure how well two motorhomes could pass, but it must work out somehow. Fortunately, we didn't have to find out.The site was mostly level, and spacious, next to a wonderful little mountain brook that kids can enjoy for hours. We weren't looking for anything more than a nice camping site, so I can't really comment on the quality of some of the amenities, such as the swimming and fishing ponds. There is a camp store with usual provisions and an ice cream stand. The attendant was very friendly. The other campers were also pleasant. This campground is definitely on my list for future stays in the area. It's only about 20 minutes from Natural Bridge, and despite its remoteness, only about ten minutes off I-81.

We have never had a good experience with our past three years of camping there. We gave it one more chance because we had planned a camping trip with our friends. When we showed up our site that we reserved and paid for online was already taken. When I told the lady at the desk we were there to check in but our site was already taken she had several excuses and lies about why our site was already occupied... We ended up just going back home. Instead of double booking a site and moving one of them I should have gotten a phone call. You can't just assume someone wants to walk across a campground to be with your friends when we were supposed to be beside them. I will never give this campground a penny. This was not the first time it's happened to us. We've lost power for the weekend and never offered our money back we were told we had to reschedule. I notified the office more than 14 days in advance of us not staying and I was told I wouldn't get a refund but I could reschedule for another time. It just one thing after another with this place. I highly recommend you find somewhere else to stay. Do not waste your time or money with this place. I would give it a negative star if I could.

Loved staying at this campground! They were able to accommodate us over Labor Day weekend and afterwards as well. We absolutely loved their location on the mountain. Maybe 10 or 15 minutes to Drive up. The staff was always very friendly and helpful, and did whatever they could to help us out. Very little cell phone service, but of course that's not their fault. We ended up staying at site 81 and got a couple of more cell phone bars, but ended up mostly using our wi-fi. The only thing that's odd is that their office didn't open until 4pm most days. It was inconvenient sometimes but not horribly. We would love to stay here again if we're in the area.Food & drinks: They have some food items in their store in case you run out, like poptarts and instant potatoes and some things like that. They also have a menu where you can order burgers and sandwiches. Our friends ordered, we didn't, and said it was tasty.

I was a little hesitant to try this place based off the mixed reviews, but I'm so glad we did. If you're looking for something with good wifi, structured activities for the kids, etc-this wont be it. But, if you're looking for more laid back, traditional camping-this is it. I will agree with others that the bathhouses weren't perfect, but I also don't think they're the worst. The sites are definitely narrow, but again-no worse than some places. We stayed along the creek which was a fun spot. My kids LOVED the inflatables on the lake, and the pool is fairly large for a campground pool. Knowing that natural bridge jellystone got rid of their inflatables, I think this will be our new go to for that experience. For

Stayed at middle creek after several days of hiking in AT. I was super disappointed that their shuttle wasn’t available to pick us up from the trail (I was OVER walking at that point, but what was 1 more mile I guess…?) After that initial let down, however, ALL GOOD THINGS#1) their selection of food/beverages/treats is *mwuah!* Chefs 💋 ! We ate lunch and breakfast there as well as ice cream and milkshakes = just fabulous. #2) bouncy houses on pond we’re Omg so much fun! 3 adult women acting like kids… magical. #3) great lot, loved the hookups. Super courteous staff, hiker friendly(Only critique: Bathrooms could’ve used some repairs, but hey, the water ran from the pipe and got hot so I couldn’t ask for much more.)

It's a decent campground , aging a bit and the sites are packed in like sardines. In addition I reserved and paid for two nights rent camping online, after the first night I got a visit the next afternoon from 'security' summoning me to the office where I encountered a young redhead who informed me we needed to leave because we only had booked one night. Again I'd booked and paid for two. She was so rude about it that I didn't even bother to argue or even ask for my money for the 2nd day. it wasn't worth the day's fee to even engage with such ignorance, we packed up and went to another campground about 20 minutes away which turned out to be free and way nicer and less crowded sites. Frankly I wouldnt recommend this campground unless you put no value on privacy or customer service and basic civility.

My husband and I had the pleasure of camping here for 3 months, we explored every campground in the area before committing to Middle Creek… it was by far THE BEST and most beautiful!!! Also, unbelievably peaceful and super close to some incredible hiking!!!I was devastated when I found out we had to leave, I would have been happy to stay there FOREVER… hoping we have the opportunity to return, sooner than later!!! THANK YOU!!!

I am saddened by my visit this time. The two days I spent there, I heard nothing but chainsaws and constant lawnmowers and other power tools until 7pm. People had to wait to use the bathroom. The litter around the campgrounds was abundant, especially in the pond behind the cabins. I will probably find another campsite after 3 years of staying at this place.Show quoted text

Inaccurate description on website. The "bathroom" near the office is 2 porta-johns. We've been without power for 14 hours. No electricity at our site and in the showerhouse, there is no water or power. The office closed last evening at 6pm and there is no way of contacting anyone with information. It's beautiful and quiet, but we will not be coming here again.

We stayed here 3 days. Beautiful place to just sit and chill. Our site was backed up to the creek. The road back to the camp is a little challenging but worth it for the setting. The sites are good size some with full hook up. Absolutely no wifi, but it's ok if you are looking to get away from it all. Alot of seasonal/permanent folks. But friendly for the most part. We would stay here again if we're back in the area.Noteworthy details: Beautiful scenery.

This was only our second time ever taking our new travel trailer out and setting up. Middle Creek was a great experience, even though it rained all weekend. The store that is on site has pretty much anything you need, ice, food, drinks. Due to the weather, we didn't get to spend time at the outdoor pool or the swim pond, but it did look nice. Would highly recommend

My husband and I stay here every year for turkey hunting.. this was the 1st year up on the hill and we LOVED it! Was very quiet (which helps getting up at 3:30 AM to hunt) . We do agree with the golden brown neighborhood dog that came every morning being an issue. Our dog is quiet and was anxious when this one came daily, I kept him in the camper till it would leave. Office staff have always been helpful and friendly! Store is amazing and has a little of everything:) will be booking again next year! We don’t use any of the pools, playgrounds, etc but it always seems to be packed so I’d say lots of folks like this camp ground!

Overall great campground! Lots of activities to do for kids and adults. Stay five nights over the Fourth of July weekend. A lot of bad reviews on the road leading to the campground, but honestly it isn’t that bad. It’s the local yokels with no regard for safety that almost led to a head on collision. Very very spotty cell service and zero air service for television channels. We enjoyed being disconnected for a few days. Only real negative was other dogs not being kept on leads. While our dog is mostly friendly, others would allow their dogs to wander and not pay attention. Several times other dogs charged ours and not knowing if they are friendly or aggressive can really be unsettling. While not the campground’s fault, it seemed very little was done to enforce a leash rule.

After several weeks on the Appalachian trail this wonderful place was a godsend. The best double bacon cheeseburger I've ever had. Great camp site. The store is well stocked and they cater to thru-hikers. The game room has electric outlets to charge phones etc... Also if you wanna just relax on a real couch and watch a movie they have a pretty good selection. -Slick

I have been camping here for well over 10 years. Good place to camp. Usually quiet. They have been working on fixing things up over the years. It's getting there. Feel like family when you stay there. They know your name. Yea the cell signal is weak and there isn't TV signal or WiFi all the time But you go camping to get away and unwind. Can not blame them for that and VDOT is to blame for the road as all that is beyond their control. Will camp there again in the future for sure once I am able to again.

This campground is a little off the Appalachian trail but worth the effort. I walked in easily because they were not able to shuttle. The nachos at the camp store are amazing! Well worth the $9. The staff is very kind and they give more than one towel and shampoo to hikers. They're also very considerate and put hikers in all three of the bunk rooms rather than cramming us all into one. This made for a very nice stay. They also waived the cleaning fee assuming that your willing to sweep up after yourself. Any savings of money really means a lot on this hike. Also the rooms are very clean as are the bathhouses.

This was a great campground. Our site 77 was spacious and clean. We never had trouble from the infamous "loose dog" thankfully as we had two blue heelers with us. Staff was very friendly and went out of their way to meet our needs. The bathrooms/showers could use some updating...but we would 100% stay here again. Thank you Middle Creek Campground for a nice relaxing camping experience.

My family and I had a great time at the Middle Creek Campground. It was in close proximity to some fun fishing and my daughter loved the playground. A neighborhood dog roams around loose that is friendly but causes issues with other dogs. Overall we had a great time and look forward to going back.

Beautiful clean campground tucked into Jefferson National Forest. Took a star off because the young blond girl that checked in was not friendly and did not give a good first impression. Also, the owners dogs were roaming around unleashed and one followed my chocolate lab very closely while we walked her last night. It was agitating to my dog and it followed us into our campsite and wouldn't leave. This morning that same dog and another larger one were out unleashed and followed us and I had to turn around and go back to our camper and put my dog inside. They scared me and made me feel uncomfortable. That said, it's a beautiful campground. We stayed in site 19 and it was marvelous and grassy with a nice fireplace ring, right next to the creek. Neighbor played his acoustic guitar so we had live music too!PS, owner of the campground contacted me and said they would make more of an effort to keep the dogs contained and he also wanted more info about the not so friendly reception we received. I do believe he cares very much about his campground. It's really a lovely place...

Dude, this campground is an amazing mixture of hospitality and freedom! They keep the toilets clean and as long as you behave yourself, let you be you! Such an amazing group of people running it. Creeks running through the property, beautiful ponds, and right off the Appalachian Trail. Doing this review as a "thank you", but selfishly, I don't want to encourage too many people to go.

Thank you for sharing your camp ground with us. Your boys are an asset to your company. They were polite and very nice guys. Since you asked about our stay... we did have an issue trying to get level on the site. The back of our rig was a lot higher than the front. We used our ramps and it was still way off. It wouldn't take much to make it better. The site behind us looked unleveled as well.Hope the feed back helps. Pat

Beautiful campground if you need and want to get away from it all. However, if you are needing cell phone service or any amount of WiFi this is not the campground for you. I booked this place for 10 nights and had to leave after just two (with no refund)due to lack of cell service and ability to receive internet. Also, although their rules state that all dogs must be on leashes there are many dogs (3-4) at all times not kept on a leash and they belong to the owners of the campsite, so they will always be there. If you have a dog that doesn’t get along with other dogs your pup will be have to be kept locked inside at all times like ours was. With that aside, I would come back here again just wouldn’t bring my dog and wouldn’t come here with someone trying to work remotely.

One of my favorite campgrounds I’ve been to. We stayed at a tent site with electric and water for three nights. We were close walking distance to the bath house, which was convenient! The bathrooms and showers have hot water (always a plus!!) and were clean and always had TP and soap. The campground is family owned, and the wife/mom runs the camp store and makes breakfast in the morning! The camp store has anything you could ever forget to bring camping, and more!! They serve various breakfast items in the morning, and also have ice cream. The campground is near the Appalachian Trail, so you see lots of hikers here for one night, they have pretty cool stories. We enjoyed the disconnect from reality and the beautiful surroundings of trees and water.
