This is our go to motel during fishing tournaments on Kerr Lake. It's a convenient location right on the highway with plugs for charging the boat overnight. Parking lot is easy to pull the boat through and there's a good Mexican Restaurant across the parking lot that you can walk to.The rooms are in our price range ~$80-100 and as expected they have a kind of "funky" smell to them. The folks working there are completely unfriendly and will just barely interact with you, or just enough to hand you a key for your room. This is a popular location for workers from out of town.We need somewhere to sleep, that's cheap and has plugs so it checks the boxes. We've been staying here now for about 4 years and have never had anyone mess with our boats overnight and the charging plugs have always worked so we'll continue to stay.

The front desk peoe they were really nice and respectful they had truck parking that is a super plus for me. But the room really smell like Marijuana, the fridge didn't work and the microwave didn't work either but when we informed about the microwave they gave a new one immediately that was awesome 👏.... The place need to update everything, in which they are hopefully they can do it really quickly. If they do Its worth staying here.

The Morning/afternoon clerk was very kind & professional. She was very busy and still answered every question I had about the surrounding places to eat and visit with a nice caring response. The rooms were clean, and the AC/Heat worked perfectly. The housekeeping was very nice and brought clean towels, rags & toiletries when asked. Also, changed sheets and bedspread and vacuumed/cleaned the room when I asked (I keep a do-not-disturb Sign up) and never had to wait too long. Will be back.Nearby activities: Right by the lake for great fishing & Roanoke River & rapids for fun.Safety: Never had a problem staff is great. The other people staying are polite and kind. And they have every inch of the hotel secured by Security cameras. Lots of boaters park their boats and feel their boats are safe, secure, and watched.Noteworthy details: Very fisherman-friendly, with plenty of room for boats. Great weekly rates. Great place if you're working outta town close to Bracey VA, and need to stay for weeks very relaxing and calm.

This hotel is a really bad, I was traveling with my family and my kids where really tired from the long driving hours and we found this little “Hotel” we check in at about 12:45 am and my husband woke up at 3:45 am and we notice both bed where fill fill with bed bugs i just rush out of there as quick as i can, they have a strict policy of no money back but please they need to maintain the cleaning of the rooms its not fair at all for someone like us that are not from the area.Rooms: The rooms need to be more clean !!!

Sadly this is not the great hotel it could be. Like others have mentioned it does have an active infestation, the folks who own it are not maintaining it, I'm not even sure if they're aware of American standards of cleanliness. They are very rude and they stole my dad's card information. Thanks for being the only downside of our vacation.Rooms: Appear clean at first glance but far from it.Nearby activities: Lake Gaston and all it's gloryNoteworthy details: Bugs... Lot's of bugs.

Room was very clean, comfortable and good size with very nice furniture.Have stayed there over the years but the current owner in 2022 has made some wonderful improvement.Great value, near fuel and restaurants, friendly staff., I will definitely be returning & do recommend at Lake Gaston Inn.

This is your typical travel motel. The rooms are clean and they still offer a choice of smoking rooms as well as nonsmoking. It's in the middle of all the recreation offered on Lake Gaston though it is a few miles away. Easy to see on the road and parking is easy.Staff was excellent and friendly, the rooms were very affordable, large with a fridge that has a freezer, coffee maker, and a microwave. The beds were too hard for us but the linens looked and felt clean. The bathroom was large enough to get things done. The towels were very thin and scratchy and we only had two but in sure we could have asked for more.If you need a place to sleep then this is a good option. If you want a place that offers more comforts away from home you will probably want a different place but be ready to pay twice as much. We spent our days out enjoying the area so this was a decent safe place.

Absolutely horrible. First tried to have us pay him cash and cancel our hotels.com order. Then accepted our receipt and gave us a room. We ordered non-smoking King bed room. The room was filthy. Bugs between the bed and night table, curtains torn and broken, pretty sure I saw bed bug carcass on the mattress and then went to lean on the bed and it's totally broken... It about dumped me in the floor. 10/10 do not recommend. We did not stay. Terrible!!

Very poorly maintained and cleaned! The room was filthy, beetles and spiders were in most corners of the walls, the shower head was rusted , the floor in the room was not vacuumed, and the room strongly smelled of must. Vents in both the AC and the bathroom vent were gross and had dust and filth in them. I left with bites on my legs and woke up several times during the night. Would not stop again.

Place is a DUMP!! Used to be a Days Inn. Now it is privately owned. Staff could care less about guest satisfaction. Room was not cleaned during my stay. I called the front desk (needed clean towels) the guy that came to my door (cigarette in mouth), handed me a couple of towels and said usually we don't clean the room until the guest has checked out. I said, yes but I had the room reserved for 2 nights. He said it doesn't matter how long you stay, the room doesn't get cleaned until you check out. I was like WOW!!! Avoid this place at all cost. Drive a few miles up the road and stay in South Hill instead.

Fair price for the room with fridge and microwave. Most places dont offer that. They do have non smoking rooms but some still smell like its been smoked in. I had to try 4 rooms before getting one without the smoking smell.

A friend had booked the room in advance for me. I was unaware that it was a smokers room & Im a NON SMOKER. Therefore the smoke smell & oder throughout the room ie......carpet. comforter ect. was extremely strong. Some of this oder was transferred onto my personal clothing items, so my mind was triggered into a highly disapproval state. There was also NO ice bucket in the room we had to go find one. Other than that, the room was clean, however I don't plan on ever staying there again. This place would only be a choice of mines if ALL of the others places in the area were booked up.

The room looked like it hasn't been renovated since it was built, shower was a mess, and although the room had signs that said no smoking, it smelled like an ashtray. On the positive side, the host was very friendly

Only get a room here as a very last resort. Room seemed decent, but not for the price of $60 a night. You know it's a seedy place when they post a sign in the office with the following: NO HOTPLATES, NO EXTENSION CORDS, NO VISITORS AFTER 9PM, NO LOUD NOISE COMING FROM ROOM and the list goes on. Got to my room to find that there is no remote for the TV. You have to request one at the front desk on check in. Be prepared not to be alone in your room. There are plenty of bugs to keep you company (roaches, spiders, and various flying insects I couldnt even recognize). Well worth an up-charge to stay a little down the road, at another exit.

The room service is $#!+. Stayed here for over 6 months straight. Rented rooms by the week. Had weekend holiday. Said they'd give up our room if we didn't pay for next week before we left although we'd been here religiosity for months before. The janitors or so called room service claimed we kept making noise etc. The real issue was that we were throwing a cog in their dope sales because we were in the parking lot cooking our dinner after work. My advise is go 7 minutes up the road and stay in south hill. You're going there if you need anything so save yourself the time and avoid the racist people who reside at this so called motel.I'm not racist. Ms Robyn is awesome.! I'll miss her!

Had a long trip and was looking a decent clean place and got way more. My room was very clean with no weird smells lol that’s one thing I look for lol. Everything you really need and the price was terrific at 55 cash for the night. Gas and food just across the street Pizza Hut and Quiznos. Miss Robin the manager is a trip and a great lady, customer service was amazing and friendly......... even though ur a skins fan Robin lol ur not fooling me hahahahaha. I highly recommend this place and I will be back you can bank on that.

I've been stopping there for six + years. Through two owners I think. And yes it's not fancy but it's clean as a pin and people there are very friendly! I love the Gaston. I wouldn't stay anywhere else. The first time I stopped it was only because I was dead tired. I'm glad I did.

Nice too stay for $60 a night. They came and gave out clean wash cloths & towels without calling.They had a flat screen tv,microwave & refrigerator in the room.I also like the cameras on the outside of the building.There is a store across the street & down the street ,also Carolina Barbecue restaurant beside them good food.Lake Gaston is on the same street so u can go fishing everything is on Hwy 903,but if u are looking for more stores like Food Lion,ABC & McD there only 5 mins away.

Lake Gaston inn was quaint yet clean. Some furnishings were tattered, but not gross. Very affordable. The one employee I came in contact with was very nice.

Spider's were everywhere. Including the bed. Woke up many times to them crawling on us. Rooms not very clean..turned sheet down in bed and found bent used bobby pins. Not pleasant stay.
