We had a magical stay here. Our room was very clean, comfortable and we loved the chocolate chip cookies too. There are several downstairs areas to hang out in, including a shabby chic inspired game room, an office area, a fireplace room and an 'inspirational woman' room (it's fabulous) plus an eating area that is very charming (very new England). We stayed here with our 4 year old son and he had fun playing and discovering all the areas. The best part was the food---this is a place for foodies. We are an international couple who live in Brooklyn, NY and we have traveled extensively globally and this was hands down one of the best breakfasts we had at an inn/hotel. It is simple but beautifully executed. There are sweet and savory options but the sweet isn't overly sweet. The service is also outstanding--authentic and down-to-earth. We are definitely coming back and highly recommend. We returned in February, 2024. We loved it! The breakfast, staff, owner (Shelly), atmosphere, coziness, cleanliness, location- all perfect. They have a game room filled with games, books, etc. for all ages. Our 6 year old son loved it and spent hours reading books and playing here. Highly recommend.

Everything about The Nutmeg is perfect! It is beautifully decorated with fantastic staff! The Nutmeg is a short walk from town which is filled with great restaurants and fun shopping. There are plenty of nearby trails to explore. My favorite is the Haystack trail which was absolutely fantastic!! My husband and I slept very comfortably and had a delicious fresh breakfast each morning! The French toast is a must!! Everything about our stay was so lovely! We cannot wait to come back!! :)

Overall a decent place to stay. On a busy road which can be noisy and too dangerous to walk to downtown. This bed and breakfast was very welcoming had a great pool and a fun fire pit each night. Breakfast was delicious but small no muffins Etc. Room was cozy and clean no housekeeping was a pain but understandable during these times overall it would be a great place to stay during ski season with three mountains under an hour away with Mount Snow being only 15 minutes away

A friend and I travelled to Vermont from Colorado and our stay at The Nutmeg was perfect. We so enjoyed Shelley and her staff. The breakfast was made to order each morning and served up with a smile! We stayed in the lovely 2 bedroom suite which was ideal for us! We loved everything about our trip especially our good night’s sleep at The Nutmeg Inn in Wilmington VT.

We had a group of 10 adults, 2 of which were newing their vows for their 30th Anniv and selected this location for it. I can't say enough good things about it. The owners attention to comfort, details & their accommodating nature made a great trip even better. The breakfasts were fantastic, the pool is salt water, the fire pits were ready for us, the rooms were well appointed and the beds were so comfortable. None of us had a single complaint .Thank you, Shelley & Paul for a great stay, we will see you again!

This was our 2nd stay and we can’t wait to go back! Everything is just right. Warm and cozy, fireplace or wood burning stoves keeps it perfect. Lots of character in every room and our host Shelley is 2nd to none! Food is great and location is perfect! 15 min from everything you need or want!

Absolutely lovely b&b run by the most friendly, wonderful host, Shelly! She took us in for a last minute stay and greeted us with fresh baked chocolate chip cookies! The room was cozy and quaint with thoughtful touches like a wireless charger by the bedside and a muddy boot rack. The space is filled with beautiful art and books- plus there’s a kids area. The breakfast was SO GOOD! Shelly has a background in food, restaurants and food tours- so absolutely enjoy every moment of the breakfast! The “huevos rancheros” were delectable and unique. We’ll be back here for sure!

I absolutely LOVE this place! The owners answered my call immediately no matter what time of day. I originally called to request a check in around 10pm and Shelly said it was no problem. I called her later saying I might be closer to 2am and Shelly again was extremely accommodating. It is a very comfortable cozy environment; every room is unique. The dining room has a warm fire place with tons of places to sit so you're not crowing the room. There is a "breakfast bar" that you can pick from while you wait for your gourmet breakfast. It is not a buffet style rather you get a waitress and order from a menu. It is a quick 15 minute drive to Mount Snow and the town of Wilmington is so quaint. You can tell the owners put their heart and soul into making The Nutmeg the best it can be. There is so much attention to detail. The bathroom had a black makeup towel, makeup remover, hair dryer, bright mirror lights perfect for putting on makeup. Every day we got fresh baked cookies in our room!! Amazing so comfortable after a long trip from home and great place to relax after skiing all day.

Cute and clean inn with a delicious breakfast included. Beautiful pool and fire pit area. We were well taken care of and made our 23rd anniversary a special memory. I would definitely stay here again!

Staying at The Nutmeg was very pleasant. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms are tiny but cozy and the bathrooms are a little dated. The property is scenic and their outdoor seating is great with some picnic tables and patio sofas around a fire pit. The food, while a little out of place at a B&B, was absolutely delicious. The tapas menu was great for a late "dinner" and the breakfast was small but also great.

The Nutmeg is the perfect spot if you’re in town for a ski weekend or whatever you’re in town for! The food is exceptional, free breakfast menu is outstanding (best free breakfast menu I’ve seen). The staff are absolutely lovely and very helpful. The location is great, a 15 minute walk into town or 2 minute drive to local pub and restaurants. Only a 15 minute drive to the base of Mount Snow. Will definitely be back!

Then nutmeg was great for myself, husband and small dog. Shelly does a nice job of really making the inn feel as though you’re in a personal home. The breakfast was made fresh and delicious. The pool is beautiful and kept warm and clean. Covid precautions are being taken by all staff. Location is perfect for exploring Wilmington and the surrounding areas or just laying low on the property. Would return in a heart beat.

A very comfortable place to lay your head and catch a nice breakfast in the morning. The couple that runs this B&B are from the UK and South Africa and are a very sweet couple and very helpful.Reportedly they have 14 guest rooms here. The rooms are of different sizes and they also have family suites (that I have not seen yet). All rooms seem to have different layouts and furnishings which is nice not go have a cookie cutter room in each room (as long as you are the type that is ok with that). You are greeted with a couple of chocolate chip cookies and a mini fridge which offers snacks (cookies are free, the snacks you have to pay for). There is a TV in each room and I believe each room has its own bathroom and shower. The rooms are split between the two floors and each time our room was upstairs. They do offer WiFi, but connectivity from the upstairs guest rooms is weak at best.Downstairs this B&B has a wood burning stove in one room and a fireplace in the dining room which they keep stoked. There are couches and comfy chairs to curl up in and read a book or just doze in (as I did). They have a table in one of the rooms so if you bring back a snack or dinner you can sit there and eat. They have a game room with board games and puzzles (although there are guest rooms right off of the game room, so not sure if the people playing games might disturb the guests). There's a room with books to choose from and the whole atmosphere is quiet and peaceful. They also offer a pay-as-you-go mini bar with a handful of offerings just off of one of the living rooms. The breakfast part of the "B&B" is slightly curtailed at the moment due to the pandemic. Instead of sitting at a table and ordering breakfast, you must order the evening before and a brown paper bag breakfast is waiting for you. A bit of a downer, but not anyone's fault under the conditions. But there is self-serve coffee, juice, tea, etc. for those that need. I wish coffee was left out and fresh for more than just breakfast, but that's ok, there's an independent coffee place just up the road on Route 9 within walking distance. They also have a relatively new outdoor pool which I think would be nice to come back and use during the summer weather and perhaps we might just do it .... after all, our most recently visit, it was -12.4 degrees when we woke up in the morning which didn't allow for a refreshing swim.

This was my first stay at an inn. Prior to this trip I had been a bit cautious of inns. I’m a pretty introverted person especially when traveling by myself so I had my reservations about the social environment I would get myself into.Having now experienced The Nutmeg I can say that I will definitely be staying there again my next time in Wilmington. For those who want to meet new people in a cozy, welcoming enviromnent, this is the place for you. At the same time for those who are just looking for a private room to call their own while on the go, this is also for you.The breakfast was outstandingly well made and delicious, eaten by a fireplace whilst sitting on dark stained wood furniture. Fantastic. The staff was more than helpful and very kind.- Mike McLean

Really enjoyed our stay at The Nutmeg. Shelly was very welcoming. Room was clean and ready for our stay. Morning breakfast to go was enjoyed by our skiers. Nice and quiet for sleeping.

Don't ever accept Room #1 under any circumstances because it is adjacent to "The Game Room", plus there is 1.5 inch gap under the room door that allows both light and noise into the room. Also, if you are over 200 lbs. and six feet tall, you will barely fit in the bathroom and the bed's mattress is atrociously hard like sleeping on a sheet of plywood, both my wife and I rolled all night trying to get comfortable. The breakfast was nice, but French toast where I come from is served like slabs of Texas toast, not three tiny pieces of bread. We visited here seven years ago and were very pleased, not so this time under new ownership.

My mother and I were there for 3 days. We stayed at room 7 which is the smallest room they have with a very small bathroom. I loved the decor of the room, however. It had a contemporary and modern flare to it. It was also closest room to the Main street so we could hear the local traffic very early in the morning. I told the owner about this the next morning and she upgraded us to Room 9 at a very reasonable charge. The bathroom was still very small but this is a very old house with narrow stairwells and low ceilings, so yes that is to be expected. And the charm made up for it. I loved every moment of my stay. The owner is an awesome cook. The breakfast menu reflected that. I think I loved my french toast so much I had it three times in a row. Unfortunately we did not devote enough time to explore the backyard which is huge and beautiful. There is a trail on a small hill behind the inn. I had a chance to sneak a peak in other rooms too and each was decorated which antique furniture with a touch of contemporary decor. I loved it! Will come back here again. Our visit was during the last week of fall foliage in 2015. Please note also that this place is under new management and the change took place in Fall 2014. So reviews from that point onward are more reliable.

Even though we only stayed one night, we had the friendliest service and everyone there made me and my fiance feel like we were at home. The property is beautiful and they had a gorgeous bonfire going the night we stayed over. I would HIGHLY recommend this Inn/Bed & Breakfast to anyone staying in the area! A++

Very friendly, pleasant hosts. The rooms are comfortable and pleasant (we've stayed twice, in different rooms, with similar experiences). The food is very good. My only complaint is that the coffee is not (to my taste) perfect. Otherwise, highly recommended.

We loved the Nutmeg! It is so cute and well decorated, clean and the bed was one of the most comfortable beds I’ve slept on. The service was also awesome. We let them know that we were eloping that day and asked for an early check in which they were able to accommodate , and then came in to flowers, champagne and a nice note! They went so above and beyond. We will surely be back next time we’re in the area.

Hospitality is like family! Breakfast is always amazing and unique! Rooms are clean and homie. Obviously there’s other places to stay but, it will never feel like home away from home like the Nutmeg!
