Beer selection is kinda dismal these days (Mar 2024). Domestics, a couple long trail options, and some single cans. Customers miss the bottles more every day. Wine options were there, but not the reason for our visit. Off the beaten way, and a connected pizza place makes great marketing. Love to see more Vermont selection.

Where do I start… old lady with a terrible Marlboro smokers voice. You are always so sour when I go in there. You never smile. Last time you were listening to a police scanner ignoring everyone. Today… I went in to buy an ENERGY drink. I am asked for my ID and in confusion I look for it. (I am clearly an adult) I left it at home. She then goes to say you can’t buy BEER without an ID. I say this isn’t beer. She proceeded to lecture me about how I need to bring an ID to buy beer while ringing me up for the drink. Clearly she can’t admit when she’s wrong and always needs the last word and to be right. I told her I don’t need a lecture on how to buy beer give me my change. She pulls it away TWICE from me. She had to be yelled at to give me back my change. Which I was shorted the rest because after I got my 2 dollars I was way over this weird and unnecessary situation. I beeped at her outside as she left costumers alone in your store. She flipped me off and I flipped her off. Asked her if she wanted to fight and she said come on in. This lady should NOT be working here or anywhere. Clearly she has a screw loose. Never in my life have I had a cashier do this over not being able to just say sorry I was wrong.

As far as the store goes, it is what it is. However, whoever hired the old woman that works the register aught to be ashamed yourself. She's the most miserable rotten human I've met in a long time. And heaven forgive you if you dare to call the place with a question. She answers the phone with "what do you want?"

Used to be a local institution. EVERYONE went to Terrill St. For their beer, wine, ice, etc. The store was always clean, the coolers ensured the coldest drinks, the employees were friendly and helpful (if you could grab one, they were always so busy). And great care was taken to make sure theirs were the lowest prices to be found in Rutland.Now, sadly, I can say almost none of this(in my experience) is true.I have stopped in a handful of times in the last few months. One time, I asked the prices of a couple of items and the woman behind the register acted as if she didn't have the time for such requests although I was the only customer in the store. Most recently, my order came to just a few cents over the bill that I had in my hand and the man working acted as if I were a lower form of life for taking 3 cents out of the penny tray... Isn't that what it's there for???Maybe I'm old fashioned. Or just old, but what happened to "how are you?" "Thank you! " "And have a good day! "????

Terrill street discount has an awesome store and a great selection of non alcoholic beverages and alcoholic beverages to soda juice etc some snacks. Nice little store. But the issue I have with the store every time I bring my bottles back is the bottle redemption they have. I have ALWAYS counted my bottles before returning them and this place and the very very young kids they hire, can not count for the life of them. Its ludicrous who cant count bottles any shoot never again will I allow my self to be riped off by there bittles redemption part of there store. The last 10 plus yrs they have screwed me out of hundreds of $ and ive said something to the manager and gyess what they dont care and did not one thing to remedy the situation. So thats it for me

The deli has very good food, I enjoy that they offer 1/2 subs. I like how they have changed the area near the wine with tables. Nice place to relax and eat. The beer and wine have a decent selection. Need more German beers please!

Great selection of fine wines and craft beer. Big bald guy really knew his stuff about the particular wine that I was looking for. I think his name was Bob. The rest of the staff seemed to be working hard and were very attentive to the other customers. Only down side to my shopping experience was the other guy they call "Otis", his language was very vulgar and offensive. Other wise a great store for the area and a must stop for anyone looking for a delicious beverage.

Good prices and good microbrew selection. For the discerning beer drinker, there are options...also kegs are available for events and parties. Terrill Street Discount has been around longer than my 35 years, and will continue to be so as long as prices are kept competative.

I took my daughters truck with cab full of returnable bottles n the truck bed so full contracter bags were strapped down with tie downs n I kno I had least 120 dollars worth n a new kid with dirty long hair counted them took him over hour to count n I came out with 90.45 that was a big rip off scam let me guess I had to fill their pockets too. I told the lady working there bout it n she didn't care n I got totally screwed. That's wrong I always take my bottles there never had issue til this kid

I have been frequenting this establishment for a couple decades now, especially their bottle redemption service and have yet to have a bad experience. The people are friendly, knowledgeable and efficient.

Took some bottles down for my daughters school fund raiser, they would not take any of them because the first bag i gave them looked to dirty. Took them down the street and got much better service. Save your self the trouble and dont go here

The people that run this place are pretty much related. So that is why they are rude to customers and so forth. I used to shop at this place until I realized they don't have any customer service skills. Go somewhere else.

Disgusting place! smells awful. the skinny Bottle guy is Rude.and the cashiers are never polite. The lady & the old man Have No personality.I spoke with Mr. Rixon & he is an Absolute Doll. on separate occasions Mark & Raymond have helped me out with Boxes & Helping me out with cases of Wine.
