An absolutely stunning beach.Clean and well cared for. Very clean restrooms and changing area.Clear cool water. Silk soft sand in the water and nice sand on the beach.Crystal clear, could see six to eight feet easily.Grills near each picnic table.Lots of free parking.Restrooms: Comfortable and cleanDog-friendliness: Pets must be on a leash at the beach.Picnic area: Close to the beach, many near a shade tree.

I LOVE this park! It’s so peaceful. The bathrooms are by far the cleanest I’ve seen at any campground. The employees are super friendly! They seem to take pride in where they work. The hiking trails are great! Well maintained, just like the rest of the park. Right now, there’s no swimming. I read a review that it was for no reason. That’s not true. The state just went through a severe flood and it’s my understanding that all state beaches are closed for public safety. I appreciate that! I asked employees and they said they were trying their best to get swimming reopened. The water was being tested. Thank you guys for a fabulous stay! I will be back.

What a lovely park. We stayed in the loop furthest from the swimming beach but there was still pond access from our site. The bathrooms weren't as nice as the next loop down but hopefully they will renovate those soon. Staff were friendly and informative about the bear activity. We did the shore trail and added on some extras that branched off. I ran in the park and along the bigger lake with no problems

A great place to come for swimming, an afternoon picnic, or just a relaxing walk along the shore of Island Pond. The water is clear and clean, the beach maintained nicely, and the facilities kept in good condition. Choose a time mid-week when it's quieter at the beach and enjoy the long view across the lake. From spring until autumn, the views here are spectacular and the beach is always a great photo-op location. The park is much larger than it seems, with camping, hiking, and rental cabins available. Most of the trails are flat and easy, with an interpretive nature walk where you might spot some birds. The park is fairly remote, and the nearby community of Island Pond is small and simple, but wonderful to explore during the afternoon.

My family and I camp at the State Parks in Vermont at least three times a year in the cabins. The cabin at the park was extremely clean, and had a air purifier running upon entering. The front gravel was graded and it was quite evident this park maintains it's sites very well.Bathrooms, and showers were more of the same; cleanest I have seen in all parks.Plenty to do with swimming, and walking around the park loops, or taking a quick ride in town for ice cream or a bite to eat. Our kids had a blast and asked when we were coming back.Wildlife in the area is nice to see, including the many loons at the pond.I would recommend to all!!!

Another great VT State Park! About 75 sites which includes 15 lean-tos and cabins some of which front on Spectacle Pond. We stayed 4 nights in one of the lean-to sites and really enjoyed the park and surrounding areas. Some nice nature trails (about 3 miles). Quiet, dark, well maintained with a modern bathhouse in the center loop that has really hot showers (quarters required). I would camp here again.Playground: The playground is a little skimpy.

This place is one of my favorites with a bath house, trails, beach, boat & kayak rentals right on site. The sites are big enough for an RV as I could fit my 35’ bus in with no issues at all. The Staff are friendly and kind as was our Host. I will always return to this site in my travels and too bad a 5 is the highest because this place exceeded my expectations. Thanks to all that made my visit amazing!

A beautiful park with one side being mainly camping ground and the other trails with beautiful views of Spectacle Pond. The park is practically between Island and Spectacle Ponds. It is roughly 65 miles from Stowe, VT.

Beautiful area between Island Pond and Spectacle Pond. The campground consists of three loops with mostly lean-to camping on the middle loop. Nice wooded campsites, some on the pond. Fire pits and picnic tables provided. Water is available as well. Each loop has its own bath house which were cleaned daily. You can buy firewood and ice at the entrance. Various unmotorized watercraft are available to rent. The beach is sandy on Spectacle Pond and only for campers. There is a day use area and beach for the public down the road a bit from the campground. It is on the larger Island Pond. We stayed three days and paddled in a rented canoe one of them. Lots of nice trails around the campground and the area.We heard and saw loons. Staff are friendly and the campground manager was helpful and knowledgeable. We changed our site ( the one we chose wasn't level and we saw that most were better) with no problem. Camped here in September 2021.

Great place to be & the view is beautiful. Clean water and beach. Has picnic area with some charcoal grills. Has nice restrooms and changing rooms. Place is great for all ages and you don't have to worry with kids because it's shallow for a good distance. Sometimes there is admission fees to get in. Please clean up after yourselves to keep beaches beautiful!

Brighton is a gem of a State Park tucked away in the Northeast corner of Vermont near the shores of Island Pond. Spectacle Pond provides a sandy camper's beach with plenty of opportunities forbswimming, paddling, fishing, as well as nature watching. Expansive undeveloped Boreal forests provide hiking trails with points of interest. The village of Island Pond not only gives another water activity option with a State and Town Beach, but has restaurants, convienence and country stores, a Market with butcher shop and a hardware store. The surrounding area lovingly known as the Northeast Kingdom has many attractions such as Silvio Conte Wilderness Refugee, the Clyde River, Kingdom Mountain BikingTrails, Lake Willoughby, Burke Mountain and Jay Peak Resort and Indoor Water Park.If you are an outdoor enthusiast, Brighton will deliver an excellent place to camp. Clean facilities and a friendly staff make it a park a home run for anyone wanting to get off grid. Cell service is extremely spotty in the area.

Beautiful campground. Spectacle Pond is great for swimming, boating, and lovely trails for easy hiking. Close enough to Island Pond for for convenience, but far enough away to get in some casual stargazing.

Pretty spot with nicely spaced sites. Clean and well maintained facilities. Our site (52) was surprisingly noisy from constant road noise and a syrup factory across the pond. The water was clear but the bottom was not swimming friendly. Some of the other sites might be nicer.

My wife and I camped here just a few weekends ago. We have been camping at many different grounds around the country, and I have to say this was one of the cleanest, quietest, most desirable camp grounds we have ever been in. The sites are incredibly smooth and well maintained, the staff are extremely friendly, the amenities are very nice, and the location next to Island Pond couldn't be more beautiful. If you are looking for a nice, partitioned camping experience where you are not on top of the next site, with some nice separation, this is the place for you. There may not be an arcade, mess hall, etc... like more touristy campgrounds down the east coast, but there is beautiful nature to enjoy. If you like tent camping, this was one of the smoothest, softest, and most level sites i've ever been in with a tent. We definitely recommend this park!

Great sites right on the water, clean facilities, nice beach. A great little pond to canoe, paddleboard, etc on. No cell reception at all, which we considered a plus on this trip.

Beautiful campground and clean. Christian, the park manager was very helpful during an emergency with my daughter. It took about 30 minutes for ambulance to arrive. The place is way out there, but that is what makes it great.

Great campground with lots of lakefront sites and activities. Close to town with stores and restaurants and 30 minutes from Kingdom Trails mountain biking and Burke Mountain. Have stayed here many times and always look forward to returning.

We stayed a few nights boondocking. Site was difficult to back into due to trees and an "elbow" shaped site. Park volunteers were so friendly, and I enjoyed the Nature Center and beautiful trails. Showers weren't reliable and I lost quarters trying to get them to work -- thankfully the volunteer reimbursed me. Negatives were that there was a large wedding party in sites at the next circle that were very loud all afternoon and evening, and a lot of campfire smoke that drove us inside the camper instead of enjoying the evening.

My daughter and I had such a beautiful time at this campground. Staff and other campers were kind and helpful. The bathrooms were totally clean with hot water immediately available. The sites feel private, very woodsy. Easy access to the quiet, wild Spectacle Pond, as well as to the bigger Island Pond that has more development around it. Both beaches are shallow for a while and super child friendly. Easy to rent kayaks or ride your bike from the campsite to either pond. People at the campgrounds were very respectful of quiet hours in our experience. We would definitely go back with pleasure!

I used to give them five stars. The staff is very rude now, never in my 36 years of going here was it every like this, they say sorry and just complain about short handed they are.but it is still a nice campground.
