I would give this place 0 stars if I could. I would not take my pet to this place if it was the last vet clinic on the planet. Malpractice is commonplace. The people here do not know how to handle animals, and they definitely do NOT know what is best for them/their health. If you love your pet, DO NOT TAKE THEM HERE.

Very kind folks and affordably priced for wellness services. They gave me lots of information and resources to do additional research for additional preventative care for my cat and I really appreciate that they pointed me in the direction of credible sources. We'll be back!

I do not recommend bringing your pet(s) here for care. We thought we were receiving good care but now we know that they made multiple large mistakes and had a general lack of personalized care that caused a lot of hardship for our dog, could have caused her death and will likely affect her health and longevity.

So glad we switched o Otterside for our cat's care. Everyone at Otterside is nice and caring. I feel so much better knowing my cat is seeing a vet that cares about animals and their quality of life first and foremost. They never try to push unnecessary medicine or procedures, and the prices are fair.

After having used this vets office for the last 37 years I'm done! Their prices have gone through the roof. They have repeatedly missed stated facts about " state" law concerning various procedures. They refused to provide medication because my pet was late for his annual wellness check even though I just wanted to start him on preventative prior to his appointment. Sue Hayden NEVER would have done this!!! Their lack of compassion and understand I ng is jorrible!!We've had many pets over the years and had always relied on this office, now that Sue is gone ....it's just a shame!! It seems like it's the almighty dollar over the actual care for your pet and circumstance!!!Bottom line Brando has lost a caring and compassionate veterinary practice!!

Under no circumstances should you bring an animal you love here. Several weeks ago my son was walking our dog, Izzy and they were attacked on their property as another patient of theirs was leaving the office with their owner. A friend witnessed the entire horrific scene unfold. A large dog, known to be dog aggressive, escaped from its owner as my son and dog were walking by the office because an employee opened the door at the wrong time. My dog, a cavalier King Charles spaniel was viciously attacked. My 14 year old son was also bit and injured while he tried to rescue our dog. Only at the insistence of several witnesses did the “veterinarian” bring both injured child and animal inside to check them over. My son gave them my name and contact information. They had my information on file because my cats had been patients of theirs previously. I’m not sure the extent of the “exam” they gave my injured dog but they missed the fact that she had several bite wounds on the underside of her abdomen and torso. No efforts were made to contact the guardian of the injured child, the police were not contacted to report the dog attack AND they let an injured child walk home alone with his injured dog. I didn’t find out about the attack until my son showed up at Urgent Care (I work at Porter) with my mother to address his wounds, which thankfully were minimal. When I got home from my 12 hour shift my dog seemed sore and shaken but she had been examined by the “vet” so no need to worry 😒. It wasn’t until bedtime as I picked her up to put her in bed that I noticed the large protrusion on the underside of her abdomen. I ended up taking her to the animal hospital in Williston, where they actually care about animals. One of her wounds was already infected and her sternum was fractured. Thankfully she didn’t require surgery and was able to go home that night with multiple pain medications and antibiotics. I didn’t get home until 4:30am. Needless to say we found a new vet, who is fantastic and Izzy is doing much better. I’m beyond disappointed in the disregard they showed my son and dog and how poorly the entire incident was handled. Never once did they reach out to me to inquire about their well being. If you bring your pets there I highly recommend finding a new veterinarian, hopefully one with some empathy.

If I could give this place no stars I would 100% My Mom brought her cat here to get neutered, and they decided to keep him overnight so he could be "observed" further since his meds were taking a little longer to wear off...The next day she brought him home and noticed that he could barely stand up, and he just couldn't get comfortable enough to sleep, she felt that something was way off with her cat and when my Mom called the front desk Ashley told her that it was because of the pain medication and that she didn't need to bring him back in to be checked on, that everything was okay. 🙄 what a joke! She clearly needs to take pet owners concerns a little more serious or find a new job.Then I get an urgent call to hurry over because her cat wasn't breathing. When I got there minutes later I saw her cat lying on the floor and instantly knew he had passed on. He ended up choking on his food because of the HEAVY pain medication they gave him, which slowed down his breathing too much to where he couldn't breathe while trying to eat his soft food. I HIGHLY recommend going to Rutland or somewhere else before choosing this place!*DO NOT BRING YOUR ANIMALS TO THIS PLACE, THEY OVER-MEDICATE THEM.When we brought her cat to them the next day so they could send him somewhere to be cremated, the doctor was choking on his words, stuttering when he tried to explain why her cat passed on, like we weren't there to see what EXACTLY happened to her baby for ourselves.So please 🙏🏻 think VERY carefully before bringing one of your animals to this horrible place, this isn't the first bad thing that I've heard of happening at this place!

My cat came home after an operation. He was falling over and unresponsive. I called and was told it was the pain meds not to worry. He died shortly after. Dr.crossman acted like he knew nothing about my call to Ashley, vet tech and tried to cover himself. $600.00 later my Sophie is gone.

The vet took the time to listen to my concerns about medications for my dog's arthritis & pain. We came up with a plan together, weighing the benefits, & negatives, of one treatment over another. I wasn't made to feel like I didn't have a say in my dog's treatment plan. I really appreciated his concerns & gentleness with my old girl.

I switched to Otterside from a vet much closer to home because of their Fear Free certification, and it's absolutely worth the drive. All of the staff were kind and considerate, they diagnosed a bladder infection that had been missed by my previous vet, and both me and my rescue puppy were very happy and at ease. Cannot recommend them highly enough!
