I shop at Ace in Brandon all the time. The staff is always super helpful, in the store or Brandon Lumber as well. Helping ladies build stuff! LOL

One of best hardware stores in Brandon! After the real hardware store in downtown closed recently, we’re left only with Brandon lumber. To be fair they don’t have the word hardware in their name so I guess that should tell you something about why it seems to be such a low priority there. Okay fine, you figure it’s worth a shot to check out what they have before you spend the time and gas to drive to a real hardware store. Problem is, the manager or owner of the store got trained in customer service at Applebees which means that most of the employees will hold your hand and lead you around the store. (Apologies to all the people who like being interrupted with: “how you folks doing over here” every 39 seconds while eating or having a conversation while seated at a restaurant.) Impulse buys are not an option because if it’s not on your list, you will be dragged past the other things you may have wanted to look at. It’s all about turning tables don’t you know. I was once led to the spray paint at which point the kid pointed like Vanna White at all the spray paint cans. He then asked what color I was looking for. I turned my head slowly towards him expecting a sarcastic smirk, but no, he was serious. I had to assure him multiple times that I could handle figuring out which color I wanted as they all have conveniently color coded caps. After a long awkward silence and staring, he moved 8 feet away and pretended to look at the shelf.

I am from out of town moving my grandson into the area and needed a screwdriver. When a entered this store I was greeted immediately with smiles all around. Megan came right out from behind the counter to get me what I needed. I work for the Disney company and I would say she is Magical. We chatted a little and she told me to send my grandson in any time. Just yesterday I called for help, some not even " hardware" related and she was just as helpful and friendly. This is guest service at it's best.

I am so thankful that this place is so close. Every time I come in, the people behind the counter are happy to help me with whatever project I'm working on. I can always count on getting polite and friendly help and advice from the people here. I cannot recommend this enough over the bigger, less personal hardware stores.

The folks here are always willing to help you find what you need. I went in looking for foam stops to put around my window AC and the gal found some for me!! It wasn't on the shelf yet, but she sold it to me. Keep up the good work!!!

To me they were very annoying and treated me and my helper like we could not be trusted. I am a 50 year old person wearing a company shirt, with in 7 minutes three different employees came up to us and asking if they could help us find something. I can go into any other hardware store and they will leave me alone and let me shop. I do recommend this store.

Even with all the construction going on in Brandon, I always check to see if they have what I need before going to Middlebury or Rutland. The manager Jim is so friendly and helpful- I’ve never had a bad experience here and I like to buy local if at all possible. I’m especially happy they became a UPS shipping and dropoff point because that saves me many miles of travel as I ship a lot for my business.

So I go to BRANDON LUMBER SUPPLY today to get 10 deck boards and some pressure treated framing lumber, I pay for it and head out to their shed, I started sorting through the deck boards to find some good ones and one of the yard guys comes in and grabs a stack of them without checking to see if they're all right ,and goes to put them on my rack, I tell him that i will load them myself because I want to make sure they are good, and to my dismay he tells me I'm not allowed to sort through them first! So I ask him who's in charge and go to speak with him ,and he tells me the same frickin thing!! I'm not allowed to sort through to make sure i get good lumber that I'm picking up myself and just payed for?!!! I am a general contractor and had just filled out an application for an account with them because I was planning to use them for a project i had nearby, I went back into the store and withdrew my application. The most ridiculous experience I've had this year so far !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
