Absolutely horrible experience with this company. The first visit was great with Faith, and we tried returning a second time and my boyfriend was told that Faith would be her groomer again by the owner. Second visit-we were lied to and it was the wrong groomer who didn’t complete the hair cut as requested. We went out of town and came back and spoke with them about getting my spaniel back in for another cut, requested Faith again and owner said it would be Faith. I showed up this morning, and the owner had lied to me and said it would not be Faith. The owner accused me of lying about my request and refused to fix anything. She told me Faith now refused service with us because we complained about the situation and now we didn’t have a choice of the groomer to see. We were going to leave my dog there and give the groomer another chance, but then found out the truth was Faith just didn’t want to see my dog and that’s why the other groomer was doing our cuts. HIGHLY unprofessional grumpy old lady running this shop and she clearly has a horrible memory. Don’t promise your customers service you can’t follow through on. Find someone else to take your fur babies to. I was told I was a bad client because I didn’t call and complain immediately about the cut. I can't believe a business would call someone a "bad client" to their face, that is a horrible way to treat people. Also, did it even matter? We were paying for a whole other full service groom and fixing the issue at that point, I was happily going to pay for both until I was condescended down to as a customer. I’m not sure what the bad attitude was with these people, I’ve praised their work and even given referrals. How sad to treat your customers so poorly. I didn't even care about the mishap on the cut, but I did care about being treated worse than they treat the dogs they groom at the shop. Disgusting.

Knowledgeable groomers and pet owners. First time I dropped my dog off she snapped at Faith (sorry!) but when I picked her up they were best friends. They have excellent skill with large poodles. Small local business. I lucked into discovering this spot and am so happy I did!

After our previous long-term groomer made a career change, we were lucky to find another excellent groomer. We took our two poodle mix dogs to Reigning Cats and Dogs for the first time last week. We found Faith to be very knowledgeable and experienced in working with dogs. She took the time to find out how we liked them to be groomed. They both look fabulous. We couldn’t be more pleased with the quality of the grooming and the care that Faith took with our babies!

We have been coming here for 8-9 years now and have always been happy with the service. We have a Black Lab and you can only imagine the tumble fluff in our house 🤣 Everyone here is always so nice, happy to help, and answer any questions. I know they care about each and everyone of the fur baby that walk in the door because it show every time I pick mine up. Best part, she always gets a super cute seasonal bandanna/scarf after every visit.

Decent price. They care about animals(not like petco)got the cat and dogs nails down $8/per. recommend pet website for dog necessities two sisters are kind and patient. They have awesome dogs! Even win the prize in competition

They do a good job grooming my ragdoll. I wish they had better text and email options as everything is done over the phone. It's hard to nail down appointments because of that but they always call back. Also checkout is sometimes long as they don't always attend to you right away. Sometimes you have to wait 15-20 minutes before someone comes to the desk to process payment. All in all it's worth the hassle because there are so few groomers that take cats. I'm always happy with the final results

Very fast service, very cheap, but also very dirty, and very rough handling cat. I would not recommend for cat grooming.The room we went in for my long hair cat was very small, a lot of stuff around the room. Almost like an office but with a tiny desk (quite messy and dirty) to do cat grooming on.While she was very nice and was talking very nicely to my cat. She was really really rough while combing and trimming nails. (I checked her nails when we came home, and it dangerously short, unnecessary short, almost to the quick)She put a very short collar that was hooked to the wall (had a tiny “fence” to clip on) and would just yank my cats feet under her to get the combing in.It was very hard to watch while standing on the side, to see and hear my cat getting pushed and yanked around. (My cat is a gentle giant, never heard her meow like that) Luckily it was over right when I was about to cut the service short and wanting to leave.We got to my car, and my cat immediately pooped in the carrier. I think it was because she was traumatized to the grooming and was literally so scared. It was very sad.Base on my experience today, I cannot recommend this groomer to my friends who are looking for cat grooming.

I have a large long hair black cat. First time I took him, he was incredibly matted from the previous owner. She handled him gently and firmly, despite his loud objections and complaining. As soon as she was done, he immediately was all over her with affection.I have been 4 times since then, and I have never been dissatisfied nor has my cat. I wouldn't trust my cat with another groomer. Any bad reviews or complaints of cleanliness are in my mind completely bogus and without merit. The results, and my cat's behavior towards the groomer time after time, speak for themselves.If you have a long-haired cat and feel like good grooming options are hard to come by, then I can't recommend this place enough.

I absolutely love this place. The grooming lady was so kind to my kitty. Due to allergies, I had to get her a lion hairstyle- aka shaving. She let me watch while she groomed my Opal and she constantly talked to Opal and my Opal was very responsive to her. They provide an A++ customer experience and really took good care of my kitty! I am taking my Opal back again this week, and I am looking forward to another great experience.

I wish I could give more than five stars...The Wonderful Groomers and other Great Staff at this shop make me and my dog quite happy. They've always done a great job, and my dog's grooming has been far and away better than the places I'd taken her before finding this place... My dog seems to love it. Her little "day at the spa" always has her visibly excited as I bring her in. Their pricing is very reasonable, and they cover all the details... some that other "groomers" have overlooked with my dog in the past: like in-between her paw-pads, etc. The workers at this "dog-salon" are also very compassionate.When a horrible circumstance prevented me from picking up my pup before they closed for the day, they took care of her and didn't even want to accept all the money I wanted to give them as compensation for their time. I had to say "give it to an animal-cause non-profit," to convince them to let me pay more for their time than they had requested... many people may likely take extra payment without question, but the staff at It's Reigning Cats & Dogs are kind, caring, and thoughtful.Some of the "complaints" mentioned in other reviews are things I noticed elements of in the past, but these things have improved and were never enough bother anyway to prevent me from using the best groomer in Salt Lake. Consider: this business is filled daily with dogs that need a bath; and, imagine how you may feel at times if surrounded at your job all day every day by other people's likely untrained dogs... I'm pretty sure I couldn't do it... So, my point is: I would take any negative feedback in other reviews with a pretty large grain of salt, because It's Reigning Cats & Dogs is absolutely great! Really Really Really Great!!!I am very happy with this Grooming salon, and so is my dog. It Really Is the place to go if you have a dog and are able.

I took my cat here for my first experience with grooming a cat! They were excellent, allowed me to watch the whole process--as I was curious to how you groom a cat, and gave me excellent advice and tips in response to my questions. They were reasonably priced and local! They outlined expectations and policies politely with the appointment on the phone and I would most definitely recommend them to any other pet owners!

I took in my cat, who has gotten super matted due to holidays and such. The woman there was very nice, she gave me tips on how to avoid him getting that matted. She also recommended a good brush to use at home. Not only that but my cat doesn't like people, but he seemed to really like her. She let me come back and watch what she was doing for a minute because I'm a crazy cat lady and probably seemed kinda nervous. I love that she gave me tips, let me watch, and was gentle with my cat. This place is better than anywhere I have ever taken him to be groomed.

I am horrified. This place barely deserves one star at all. I walked in and the entire building is absolutely filthy it looks like it hasn't been cleaned in ages. The lady who worked at the front desk greated us with snarky comments. After we had been checked in she took us to a disgusting back room covered in god only knows how much fur. She grabbed my cat and chained him to the side of the table, pulling the color so tight he was choking. My cat couldn't even hurt a fly, he's never hissed at anyone before and he's a very calm little guy. He hissed and clawed at this woman and frankly I understand why. The service was disgraceful and the work place is disgusting. If you love your animals take them somewhere with more professional work ethic and cleanliness.Update: she cut his nails way too far and he is bleeding excessive amounts. I AM DISGUSTED.

I should have known better than to take my cat here when I heard all the dogs barking. That was my fault. The appointment was for 1 pm, and the woman told me to come back at 4:30 pm. It was just supposed to be a bathing and dematting. I get a call around 2:30 pm, asking me to come back to try to calm down my cat because she is unable to trim his nails. Okay? Never asked for a nail trimming. Come to find out the place is filthy and my cat is on a dirty table on a very short leash with a dirty towel around his neck. Horrifying. We were not able to continue with the appointment. Thankfully, I was not charged. Good thing, too, because the nails that did get clipped were cut WAY too short, leaving the vein exposed. My poor cat. If you love your kitties, please DO NOT bring them here. Now I know to look for cat-only groomers.

Bring my two elderly cats here to have their claws trimmed. Mary is great with them and gets the job done quickly and kitties are always relaxed during, which is a big deal. Always available when I can catch the guys and bring them in. Very reasonable price too.-Helen

The meanest people in the world. I've been a loyal customer for years, having taken several pets to get groomed, and always give a good tip even though they are generally unfriendly and have even cut my animals on occasion. Then, because I have pretty bad ADHD plus I just had a big wedding, I've been a little absent minded and forgot to bring my dog for her appointment a couple times this year. Though it wasn't in their policy, they started charging me for the appointments I missed, which seemed fair, so I paid the fees diligently. Earlier today I showed up for this mornings appointment and the lady says, I left you a message saying we aren't doing business with you any more (because of the missed appointment two days before my wedding). I said 'don't I owe you money', she said yes and took my money for the missed appointment and said nothing else to me. Like I was a dog. I even tried to go back and tell her how much her belligerent customer service had impacted me, and she just tried to make me feel worse! This is a terrible business to support. Go somewhere else. Unless you hate yourself.

I couldn't give this place enough stars. Took my long-hair cat here to be groomed for the first time. Not only was the groomer super good with my scared cat, but she did an amazing job on the cut. Cost here is about half what I would expect to pay for such a good grooming.

I took my cat in here twice, both times were unpleasant. The place was messy and unkept. Always animals screaming and stressed out. Both times I didn’t dare leave my cat alone and thank god. The second time I took him in the lady grooming him said he was fat and I needed to take better care of him. Definitely wasn’t going back after that.

I usually "groom" my Aussie mix myself but decided to take him in this time around and was not disappointed. They did a better job than I could have done. His fur was soft before, but now it flows like a shampoo commercial. Definitely professional grade work. He didn't smell like a wet dog, or like any scented dog product. He just smelled clean. They also brushed out most or all of the loose undercoat so that'll be a LOT less fur to deal with at home.

She did a good job, work area is not tidy and one of animals that was getting groomed while mine was drying was stress out and I did see the attendant hit the animal. After that there is NO way in hell im leaving my babies there alone!

This is the only place that accepts my 15 year old cocker spaniel, and I am happy with their work, they treat him well. I know my dog is not an easy one, for sure I recommend the place if you have an old dog.
