Such a cool place! The animal sanctuary itself is so unique and amazing, go schedule a tour or a volunteer session. This cafe is a great deal, amazing food, and a great purpose as it is a nonprofit. It was very busy, we attended for Saturday lunch! Workers,volunteers, and visitors were there! The buffet has trays to stay and eat or boxes to build and go. There were gluten free options, and then all food was vegetarian and vegan! We had tamales, pasta salad, taco soup, chicken salad pita sandwiches, salad, refried beans, broccoli, and a pb&j dessert bar. Super yummy! Would be back again! Even though it was busy the wait wasn’t too bad, and getting our food was really easy!

Open for lunch everyday 11:30am - 1pm.$5 vegan lunch buffet with a million $ view.Variety of dessert options, soup rotations, and fresh baked bread.Menu changes daily so check the website before your visit. The salad bar is unrivaled in the area and the staff is great. If you have any dietary questions or concerns, you can just call ahead and they will do their best to accommodate.Free coffee available from 7:30am-2pm, so even if you're not going for lunch I would encourage everyone visiting the Sanctuary to at least go and see the view from the patio. It is quite dramatic.

The food is tasty - the sweet and sour "chicken" was delicious!! And the salad bar is great! This is buffet style so "service" is keeping things stocked and available then gathering dishes if you opt to sit longer. The atmosphere is pretty simple - almost summer camp style as most patrons are staff or volunteers at Best Friends Animal Sanctuary. And the view of Angels Canyon from the dining patio is amazing!! For the price you CAN'T go wrong! Fresh coffee is available all day for staff and volunteers too ☕

This place had a fantastic view. The food was all good, and the salad bar and deserts were especially delicious. Great options for vegans and supporting animals. You also can’t beat the price. Definitely worth checking out and maybe even volunteering.

Came for the animals stayed for the grub haha. This place had got such an awesome thing going. I was not very optimistic when I was told they served a vegan menu. The Angel Village Cafe is located on the grounds of the Best Friends Animal Sanctuary. It is vegan which is appreciated at an animal sanctuary. They have reduced hours due to Covid19 so it’s open from 11:30 am-1:00 pm daily.Orders must be placed by 9:30 am the day of and by orders I mean you just let them know via their website how many meals you want and the name of the person picking up. You can also order a few days in advance.You just show between those hours to pick up, provide your name and pay $5. Each meal is pre-made and packaged in sections so the entree with side will be in a plastic container which you collect at what was the buffet table and then you go to another area of what was the buffet table to pick up your salad and dessert.The food even at 11:30 am is already cold and there’s no microwave. Some of the food is not edible and the descriptions don’t always match what you get. For example what they call a pot pie looked and tasted like something regurgitated by a cat. See attached photo.The onion soup was just a salt shaker in cold liquid with a pile of onions. Absolutely disgusting.The cheeseless pizza was pretty good but again, cold. The spaghetti was literally hard as a rock and cold.What is good is the sesame ginger dressing, they have brownies and fruit for dessert as well as ice water, coffee and tea.Food is pretty bad. Value (if edible) is great. View is amazing. There also have bathrooms inside and disposable utensils.Staff wasn’t friendly.Problem is you’re stuck with it as there’s nothing else for the staff and volunteers. My advice: pack your lunch.

Lunch with a gorgeous view and my dogs. Had spaghetti which was delicious. It is served buffet style and all vegan options. Look at the website as main dish changes but they post the menu. Dogs welcome on the patio. Good food, great people, good cause.

Best view of anyplace near Kanab! You cannot beat the $5 price either - BUT - please know this is an opportunity to donate to the sanctuary. We put at least $10 more EACH in the donation box by THE REGISTER, because the food and staff were amazing. AND, it’s a buffet. YOU TOTALLY GET at least, $10 worth of food and service there. Help them help the animals. Don’t be cheap.

I love everything about this place!! 100% vegan so yay for us plant eaters! And the meals are always familiar/inviting to non-vegans who are plant curious, so it's a great way to invite non-vegan friends to share a meal. Best view from a restaurant I've ever experienced, so yay for atmosphere. And the staff are SO nice - from offering to bring my dog a bowl of water, to holding him while I got my meal the one time I've been there w/o my husband, to getting me some ice when I had a minor injury, I couldn't ask for more. And I'm always curious about poor reviews, so I skimmed the handful that aren't 4 and 5... what can I say - my $5 meal is a bargain, I've always LOVED at least one thing on the menu, and the stuff I don't love, so be it! It was a $5 meal. They're busy and serve a lot of people, so what do we expect? They aren't going after a Michelin star! THey're making it easy for volunteers and staff to have a healthy meal and inviting guests to try vegan food. It's brilliant, I love it here, and even plan my travels around the chance to come in for a meal. Thank you best friends for being awesome!

This place is great if you're in the area! There was a HUGE line! The line moved right along. So I think vegan meat is awful. Not a fan of vinegar cabbage dish. I think those complaints are all my own. The beans and rice were great. The salad bar was amazing. Everything was very fresh and tasty there. The cake was weird but kind of good. The coffee was empty. I was a little sad about that. The view was great off the deck through the windows. However the seats that were open out on the deck were reserved for someone cooler than us. I could go for that salad at $5 everyday! And thanks to everyone that helps animals!Vegetarian options: All vegan restaurant. Buffet style.

This was the best place during our 3 weeks road trip! My wife and me loved it so much there and we are really thankful we were allowed to eat there - plenty and delicious vegan food, such friendly people, everyone smiling and an amazing view outside. On any other place you will have to pay the food 10 times - if you find something vegan which tastes that good! So we for sure donated and i HOPE so much every stranger who is visiting this place will do. Don't be cheap!!
