Has potential, but my room was terribly dirty. It was clear that my room had not been vacuumed in some time. I also wasn’t confident that the bedding was fresh. The floors were obviously very dirty, and in places that would have been clean if the floors had been vacuumed or even swept (i.e., I’m not talking about about obscure corners and under furniture). My suspicions raised, I checked the bedding and found numerous human hairs. The bathroom also had more than a few errors in it. More troublingly still, I noticed what looked to me like small insects on the ceiling of the bathroom. A thorough inspection of the ceiling in the bedroom showed no bugs, and the bugs in the bathroom appeared not to move, so I took a chance and still slept in the room— using my own bedding and air mattress, with the included sheet on the floor as a barrier. I’ve basically treated the floor as lava for my stay. (Those more obscure places – the baseboards, the corners, and the interior windowsill – were absolutely filthy, disgusting, as though they have never been cleaned.)This experience was very disappointing, because the room itself was decently well appointed. The furniture was all in good condition, and the bathroom seemed like it had been recently renovated. The shower had good hot water pressure too. If the room had actually been cleaned prior to my stay, I would’ve been pleased with the accommodations. But that was little comfort to me, arriving late at night and very tired.Another positive was the staff person I interacted with. They were very helpful when I realized that I had booked the room for the wrong night.

One of the other reviews from seven months ago said the heater in 205 was busted and only blew cold air. Well, it's seven months later, and it still hasn't been fixed. We froze all night. We wore warm clothes to bed, but my throat is still raw.The hands-off check-in process might have been more convenient if I'd been aware of it much sooner. As it was, I had to unpack my computer in the parking lot to access my email. Not a solitary soul in the place. We will definitely not be back.

The room was newly remodeled.  Very nice.  My husband says the grout lines are the tightest he has seen.  The bathroom door was too tight and would not close.  The exterior door had to be pulled tight to make the lock work. The room was neat but the floor and window sills were not clean.  The refrigerator would not seal due to frost buildup.  This was handled promptly.  We came back from a tour to find the lock seemingly without power.  Someone arrived in a few minutes to reset it. The neighbor’s dog was left unattended and barking for a long time and again the hotel dealt with it as we let them know.  The policy is to clean the room between guests.  We stayed four days and this might be a bit long for a place catering to guests seeking outdoor activities in Bryce and Zion.  I am accustomed to hotels with a person at the front desk, but our concerns and requests were addressed so this seems to work.  The remodel could use a little fine tuning but it was a nice, new look. The housekeeping could be improved but it was good.  (A floor mat at the door would help prevent tracking Utah into the room). This was the longest we’ve stayed in one place and it worked.Nearby activities: The place is very close to Zion national park.

Rooms are very nice! Bed is extremely comfortable and very clean with good amenities. However, our heater was not functioning at all. We stayed here early spring when weather was still in the 30-40s. Our room was cold even with heater on all night. That’s why we did not give this place 5 star. The good part is the shower had hot water and there was no check in process. You get the code to the room emailed to you, which made it very easy. Please fix the heater (room 205) for future guests!

A friend was getting married at the Ponderosa Resort Ranch and we couldn't find a room nearby and asked for a recommendation. 89 & 9 was the worst recommendation. Dirty towels, dirty sheets and a shower we were not going to use. When checking in, there wasn't anyone to help us and the front desk was abandoned and grungy. I'm not sure why they recommended this motel because it wasn't a nice place.

We are currently doing a road trip on the west coast and this motel is definitely the best we had yet :- very affordable : 100$ for a room for 3 people- 20 minutes drive from the East entrance of the Zion national park (which is the best part) in a calm area next to a gas station and some nice restaurants- it has all the amnesties you need (refrigerator, microwave, etc) , the furniture were new and the decoration very cute. And the beds were just so so comfy!! We slept so well. Thanks a lot !

It’s conveniently located in east Zion, but unfortunately that was the only perk (other than the local cats). My cousin and I stayed for 2 nights, and upon arrival at 10:30pm, the door to the room was already unlocked. Inside, the floor had been swept, but just into the corner. There was no toilet paper at all, and the toilet itself was clogged from whoever was there before. We called the after-hours number, and Rick assured us that someone was on their way, but no one came. 30 minutes later I called again to confirm and was told they’d be there any time. After the third call an hour later to check on the ETA, I was sent to voicemail. This place had so much potential, but ultimately fell flat. 1/5 overall.

For a basic roadside motel, we were pleasantly surprised. Checkin was easy! They emailed a door code and wifi info on the day of checkin. We didn't even have to see a person, which was nice after a long day in Zion we could just go right to our room. The room had new flooring, quality curtians, and comfortable bedding. Also, a very nice and user-friendly smart TV. Wifi worked great, was strong enough to load Netflix without an issue. The window AC/Heater had a remote, which was a nice touch. I don't usually "recommend" a motel, but I would this one.

Don't be fooled by old pix on Google. This place is being renovated and the room we had was amazing! The staff is super friendly and professional. Contactless check-in is perfect. The views are great and you're right near the east entrance to Zion National Park. Dining & gas across the street. We would definitely stay here again.

Warning. If you want room service and chocolates on your pillow, this is not the place for you. This is an older, reasonably priced, no frills place, which is exactly what I like. The owners were super nice despite the late hour I showed up at and the room was clean, the bed comfortable, and the hot water flowed freely. Best of all, a room here didn't cost me my soul (which was incredible surprising due to it's location near Zion) and my dog was welcome. I would stay here again.

The room we stayed in was great, and while the outside doesn’t look too promising, the room itself was very nice. The only hiccup was the keycode for our room- but a woman working in another room helped us figure it out (apparently the particular room we were in was a bit finicky). Definitely recommend, great value for the money and the location is hard to beat.

If I could give it a -0 star rating I would. Stayed here back in May with a friend while visiting the area… the room was dirty - crumbs were all over the bed sheets, thick globs of hair in the shower drain, AC was loud and sounded like old farm equipment - probably a safety and health hazard, floors were extremely dirty and covered in God knows what. Would not stay here again if it was free… couldn’t even pay me to stay here. Got in touch with the owner the following day and she didn’t seem to care… gave us a 25% refund. Might want to consider car camping if you can’t find anywhere else to stay. Good riddance. 🤦🏼‍♀️

My wife, two kids and I stayed here for one night after visiting Zion for the day. If I would have known beforehand how disgusting this motel was, I wouldn't have stayed here with my family. Gross bedding, stains everywhere, AC had about an inch of visible dust on it, water faucets screwed on opposite and backwards, trash lying out in front of the property. Spent a little extra money and find somewhere else to stay.

Just know what you're getting into here - this is a very low-end motel that has been neglected for decades and is badly in need of many renovations and repairs. If you can live with that, then you'll find comfortable beds, functional plumbing, a fridge & microwave. What you won't find: a deadbolt or even a chain, so your room will always be accessible to management even when you're in it. You won't find Wifi that is up to 1997 standards, or a fan in the bathroom, or a dresser, electrical outlets, room to unpack, modern heating/cooling, key cards, or other amenities found in a Motel 6. This place is stuck in 1984 and even then it was low-end. The owner was very nice though, and we did have clean towels and hot water. Hence the second star.

The lock on the door was broken, the room had not been fully cleaned, the tiny shampoo bottles in the shower were half empty, the fridge and microwave were in the bathroom (who tf thought that was a good idea), and I asked for an hour late checkout to which they responded “no problem” and then the housekeeper proceeded to barge into our room without knocking 30 minutes before the regular checkout when my girlfriend and I were still naked in bed (luckily under the covers). And also the lights are positioned perfectly above the bed for someone to sit up and crack their head open.

My partner and I had to unexpectedly stay the night in Mt Carmel and the man at the front desk was very nice and hospitable, despite our late night check in. The room was clean and had everything we needed from a no frills motel. The price was fair for the stay. There was a lot of character and friendliness in this town!

This is a great place to stay on your way between Bryce Canyon and Zion Canyon. It's a cute place and the views are gorgeous. The Virgin River runs right behind the Golden Hills Motel. Also their gift shop contains lots of things like trilobites and geodes.

It’s modernized, convenient, nice. Reason for 4 stars is it wasn’t clean, coffee pot was nasty and dirty sheets left in the room.
