They don't give their plants water so they are all dying and I found some disturbingly low water in some of the betas containers.I really like their great selection of small animal, reptiles and fish, however, every time I have been here (6 times) there are pallets and freight everywhere. So much that I can't even get my stroller down most of the main aisles and some of the side aisles. Having it be so difficult to get around is really inconvenient.

I dropped my dog off here for a haircut and told them several times to make sure they kept the face longer but cut the body short. My girls brought him home just now and I was in shock! They chopped his face SO short he doesn't even look like himself. I called the store and asked if they didn't understand what short body/longer face meant. The girl on the phone said that she told whoever cut him to have a "teddy bear" face. Nothing about this cut looks like a teddy bear face. I am very upset since I wanted my dog to look cute for my son who is coming home and hasn't seen his dog now for 2 years. He won't even recognize him because he doesn't look like the same dog! We have to live with it now for months until his hair can grow back. If you want a short/short haircut all over then I guess this is your place. I won't be back!!

Usually PETCO is nice. The one in bountiful always has a small selection of goods (for hamsters and cats) and the animals were not cared for at all. The say the animals (mice and hamsters) are kept is disgusting and I won't go back to the Bountiful location.

They are killing the fish!!All the betas are in tiny plastic bowls many of which are dead or literally decaying. I bought a beta, it died almost immediately.

Great location right off the freeway. Some pets to adopt including cats, gerbils hamsters and ferrets. Great variety of pet supplies to meet your needs at an affordable price and super friendly staff.

My pup loves to go see the mice. It's one of the only times he pulls on his lead. I love the people that work here, they're so nice.

I don't usually rate chain pet stores higher than a 3. In general, Petco is a good place to go for dog/cat supplies, but Petsmart is usually a decent amount cheaper. The staff here is great and will go out of their way to help you. The products they carry are good quality usually. Their selection of fish is good as well. The store severely lacks when it comes to reptiles though. The food for snakes and lizards is very overpriced, and in a limited selection of sizes. They charge an arm and a leg higher for most of the reptiles than is reasonable. Their reptiles also generally are poorly cared for (most significantly the bearded dragons). If you seek reptile supplies, go to Pets and Such in West Valley. If you're looking for more standard things, it's a good store.

The staff is always very nice and helpful. When they are available. However the store is always overflowing with boxes, things stacked in the aisles, and stuffed randomly on shelves, and often a lot of items unavailable. Also I got some shrimp, and the sickness destroyed my tanks of fish. I had to flush what few survived, because they were quite obviously sick. * we get our frogs crickets from here👌

Wonderful, knowledgeable and helpful associates!!! My daughter wanted a pet for her birthday. With the associates help we decided on a guinea pig. We tried holding a few and she found the one that she loves!!! It is calm and patient, it is passive and she just loves holding it and petting it! We got our son a beta fish. Absolutely wonderful place!!

They are awesome to work with. Mark and April are the best! April has helped us so much with our fish tank she knows her fish really well as well as how to take care of them! Mark is awesome with all animals but he's great with ferrets! They are my favorite store for anything pet related!

I got very worried after I bought my new fish when I checked the reviews and saw several people talking about there fish dying and how poorly the fish at this location were taken care of. I was hopeful. Them this morning I went to check on my brand knew $25 fish and he was dead. If there wasn’t so many reviews I would think I had done something wrong however I followed proper fish care and there are multiple other reviews with people with the same problem.

Convenient and close to my house. We have a lot of animals, including a tree frog. I go through a lot of crickets, so I'm here often but one cashier in particular always acts so put out when I ask for them. I walk in and see her and I'm half tempted to turn around and go to petsmart down the road. Otherwise it's a good store, my kids love looking at all the animals

We really needed some advice on how to clean out our daughter's fish tank from a parasite issue. And what we had been reading about on the internet seemed quite extreme. However, we found just the right people at Petco to help guide us through that extreme process! And now she has a clean tank & a lovely fish to keep her company. Thanks!!!

Fish at this location are in a very dismal state. Many, many, many dead fish in multiple tanks. Some look to have been left in the tanks for quite some time. There was even some in plastic bags that looked to be put into tanks to be acclimated. One in one tank the fish were all dead and in another they were swimming in their own filth. The fish that are alive look sickly and are not doing well. I'd be surprised if anyone would buy fish from this location. Please don't have fish at this location if they aren't going to be cared for.

I was a little nervous to get my Goldendoodle groomed here because I didn’t know how well they would do but they did an amazing job! Brittany worked her magic and my dog looks adorable and was so happy. He was pretty matted and she took her time and tried her best to keep him fluffy! Also, the guy that took my payment was so friendly and I was happy with the whole experience! I definitely will make another appointment! ❤️🐶

I've been getting into fishkeeping and they have pretty decent stock of fish that normally come in on Thursdays. The employees are friendly and helpful. My only complaint would be the website isn't great. Overall great

Good options, good locations for quick during the week pick ups!! Limited on certain items for certain critters, not much small rodent/lizards accessories. Also double check your wax worms and meal worms, once in a while they don't rotate out the older batches.

We have been coming to this location since it opened. We like to use the self-service dog bath as it is so convenient to have everything there to wash and dry the dog. It was always clean and well stocked with towels and shampoo. The last while it has been going down hill. We have gone in and there is a sign saying the grooming area is closing an hour or two early and we can't use the facilities. Last night we went to wash our dog and the dog wash was disgusting. It hadn't been cleaned for a while and there was hair, lots of mold and mildew and scale on the tub. The walls and floor were dirty, the shower head was mostly plugged, and the towels were a mess. It was bad enough that I took pictures. We should not have tried to wash the dog but did so anyway. Then we noticed the drain was plugged so the dog was standing in water. I'm pretty sure none of this is good for the animals. I called the manager and he said he knew there were issues but they couldn't do anything about it until they remodeled. What? You can't clean the tub, get rid of the mold and scale, unplug the drain, clean the shower head, walls and floor? The manager didn't seem too worried about it, just made excuses. Because of this, I would be wary of using any of their grooming services either.

Today I went in to my Petco to buy fish. I asked for someone to help me. 5 minutes later we asked again. Then they “refused” to help us. We stayed there for 15 more minutes and asked again and she said she would not help us. We then said that if they didn’t help us we would leave. The employee just said ok. This is really poor customer service.

The best selection of animals and supplies of any chain store I've been in (especially fish supplies). Unfortunately, the care for some of those animals seemed lacking. There was about a dozen crested and gargoyle geckoes ranging from a few months old to probably a year+ housed together in a 10 maybe 15 gallon enclosure. Two decently sized juvenile veiled chameleons were housed together and pestering each other. Clown fish were nipping the fins off another fish. I understand that stores need to make some compromises in care, but this was too much for me to support.

A neat and clean store with a good selection of items. I believe they have more items then petsmart does when it comes to exotic pets like reptiles, fish and rodents. Although not alot of staff to help and it took me forever to find anyone to ask a question about fish.

I went in for fish, plants and to see ant Christmas sale items...Pros-Farrets looked healthy and enclosure didn't smell and seemed clean.-Reptile cages needed cleaning but the reptiles looked and acted healthyCons-Clutter and boxes in several areas. No one was apparently working on them and they got on the way of shopping.-Fish tanks were so dirty and had lots of algae overgrowth.-I was in the fish area for 10 minutes and other areas as well... Not one employee asked me if I needed help.I left without buying anything.

I used to love this store's grooming service (my dog really liked this place too) but it's taken on a "we don't care" attitude in recent months and I certainly don't want to leave my pet with individuals who could care less. I've called three times over the last month and it's been impossible to get an appointment for a de-shed treatment for my dog. Today I was told - "our computers are down so we can't do anything until at least late tomorrow (Saturday) afternoon". No worries - Lots of other options in the Bountiful area for grooming.

They have a good assortment of grain-free dog food and treats. Every time I buy crickets here half of them are dead the next day. I feed them fresh fruit or potatos and even the dry flakes, and put the water gel cubes in there and they are dead. If I buy crickets, the same breed, from another store, they stay alive for a week! Only 2 or 3 die. It's so frustrating because Petco is the only close pet store in Bountiful.

This store is always clean, and things are ready to find. They usually have all the supplies for the prescription meds I take, which is nice. My only complaint is that they someone take HOURS to fill a script while I'm in the store, wake. And waiting And WAITING.
