Do not look at the pictures of the camp site because they are proposed, like in the future. We failed to read the fine print that they hope to build a pool and a new club house and concrete slabs. Even though it shows nice concrete lots. They have gravel lots only and most roads are gravel. There is a tennis court but nothing else to do. You for sure do not want to get in the muddy creek. I see from other post that the people who are in charge are not nice. They are truly not nice. The speed limit is 5 miles and you better not go any faster or you will get in big trouble. You will be very disappointed as we were.

This place is not for tent camping. if you are planning to stay in tent here then please dont come. In night we couldn’t sleep because of the highway vehicle noises and train noise. For RV owners it’s good place. Its a RV park and they have only few tent spots and those were also not maintained. Lots of grass. No water from the tap. If you are impressed by river side locations same like me then its a bad idea. Water is so bad with all the trash, outgrown tree and there is no flow.

Hands down worst place I’ve ever camped at. The location is neat, and not too far from the attractions in San Antonio, but that’s about the only good thing. The park doesn’t have anything it says it does on the website. No pool, nowhere to kayak, no “walking trails”, the river is over grown by plants (which is not bad) however it’s still water so it’s murky and smells like sewage. The bath house is not kept up with (at least when I visited the bathhouse). The maintenance man who I guess lives on site, stopped not just my car but one of my friends cars and yelled at us for our speed (speed limit 5mph), I was going 10mph coming out of a 30mph road (insane!). Very unprofessional to stop not one but 2 different people on different occasions and YELL at them. The same maintenance man also pulled my little sister (13 y/o) to the river by herself to show her something. Imagine our surprise when we see out of our camper a grown man taking our kid to a river alone! Like I said , the location is neat and not bad, it’s the park. I will not be staying again and would tell others to pick another park this one is horrible!

Very military feiendly park it's 15 minutes south of lackland airforce base. Peaceful and quiet. We've been here long term and love it still!! All the pets are friendly and the people too! The office manager is amazing! She is helpful and is great at her job and a hard worker! The whole crew is great! The maintenance team does a womderful job maintaining the park and keeping it great! I hope they get time off occasionally I always see them working hard. So glad they listen to the residents and keep this park safe for all. There are a lot of kids here in some areas it's so great to see them ridding bikes and playing outdoors. I do wish there was a pool here but it is great overall! Keep up the great work! I don't ever want to leave this place it's so great! Can't wait to see the new expansions and what is next to come here! I'd definitely recommend this place!Nearby activities: Lots of things to do 20 or minutes less awaySafety: Very safe locationWalkability: Lots of trails to hike or bike beautiful area overall

I struggled to decide if I should write a review. I want to say that the customer service here is mostly fine. When I had interaction with the folks on site, they were very pleasant and ultimately, unless they are the owners, I'm not sure that my issues with this place reflects them.First, one evening I went to take a shower and there was literal human excrement (you read that right) in the shower. It was after 5PM so no one, that I was aware of, was on site to take care of it until the next day.The river is kinda whomp whomp and the trails are not as expansive as the impression given. But my biggest complaint is actually the cost and website. The website is extremely misleading. Under amenities they have listed that there is a pool, they also have a picture of an RV park that is not accurate. Now, I understand that they are going to add a pool during their expansion and it's listed under their expansion section of the mobile website, but it's also under amenities. It's not until you select the pool image under amenities where you see "coming soon". This is intentionally misleading. Lastly, $40 a night for a tent site with no hook ups for a park with a dirty bathroom and no pool is more than rent. SMH

This was a nice, pleasant place to stay at. The desk staff was exceptionally friendly - I believe Angie is her name. She went out of her way to stop by and make sure that our accommodations were to our liking. Reasonably level lot, everything worked as it's supposed to. The area was reasonably close to other things for us to do. Showers and laundry room worked just like they should, plenty of space and machines in both. Nothing bad to say about this place - was clean, the grass was kept short and any equipment we saw worked. The one possible negative is that about a quarter mile away there were a lot of dogs barking at various times. They were not part of the RV park, nothing that could be done about it. Was a faint noise, but it was there. If that's all I can complain about, then this is a darn good stop. Give it a solid thumbs up 👍

Just stayed 2 nights and the experience was amazing. Beautiful place and the camping grounds were great. No electricity but we did have water and portable potties that were pleasantly clean. The river was a few steps away from us. The place was nice and clean at all times. The best part for me was that they provided us with a map of the place and also near by stores with address and directions on how to get to them. Not many places do that. My dog had enough room to move around on our designated camp area. Will definitely be back to this place.

Lisa and Fidel awesome people. Lisa explained everything and was accessible when we had issues. Other then no water on in a.m not there fault someone broke the water line. Got fixed promptly. The place beautiful and didn't get through the whole park but sounded awesome. Loved it. Washing and showers facilities on premises. Great place!

I've been staying at this park for almost a year. First I stayed in the small cabin a few nights a week and thoroughly enjoyed it. Charlie and Roxie are truly hospitable. The cabin was adorable, CLEAN, and comfortable. They even put out little snacks. Sometimes I didn't arrive until later and they would leave the porch light on which impressed me that they were so thoughtful. I have always found the staff to be polite and extremely helpful, doing much more than would be expected. The park is clean. The bathrooms and laundry area are nice and cleaned more than once a day.Since February I've been staying in an RV. I love where I'm parked. I love staying at this park. My overall feeling after almost a year is that Charlie and Roxie built a beautiful place. I think they really take pride in it. I see them constantly make improvements. I've seen them really be good to people and help people. After coming here I have never felt the need or desire to look elsewhere. I love the ranch feel of the place. The beautiful cows, horses, deer, and chickens. The park is in the country but just a mile from I-35 and maybe 15 minutes from the city. I love that their animals are so well cared for and you can buy the country eggs from their pampered chickens in the store. I love that you can see the stars at night yet you are are not far from the city. I would recommend this park.

My family loves this place. We enjoy to camp here, they offer military discount, the ladies at the front desk are awesome. The whole camping ground is very quiet during day and night. There is lots of birds and deers, which makes our stay very pleasant that’s a bonus to makes us feels a relaxing nature feeling. Our kids love fishing at the river and taking walks through the trails and picking up wood for our fire. Thank you Alamo River family to make a fellow military family feel welcome. Y’all are awesome!!! This is our favorite camping place in the San Antonio surroundings. We highly recommend Alamo River RV Resort and campground to anyone.

Just stayed for a few days, but was very impressed with Park and staff. Friendly and helpful staff, even the owner stopped by to see if we were being treated right!Facilities were clean and easily accessible, great trails for waking or hiking, wildlife plentiful and beautiful, and the city close, but not too close. All in all a great stay, will likely make this our long term site for future Texas visits.

Love, love, love this pace. Very kid friendly. We are from Ohio and winter in Texas. These pictures are just some of the things this park does. We are here for months at a time. I could not say enough good about the park or the people who own or run it. Perfect for horse riding, biking, hiking. Clean bathrooms, laundry room. Office/ store. Safe, night gates for security. Not a day goes by someone who works here doesn't ask at least once how you are doing and if they can help with anything. If you are thinking about stay here. It should not be a question you will have a great time.

Sorry for very late review. My husband and I were traveling from out of state April 2019. Our car got overheated and the traffic was terrible. I ended up get there around 10 p.m. The staff lady was kind enough to wait for use until we got there and shown us our camp spot. We stayed on the tent camp site By the creek. It was nice and peaceful. The bathroom facility was pretty clean. I would go back there again next time when I visit San Antonio.

We just bought a new camper and decided to give this place a try because it is close to home. The staff from the reservation process all the way to check out was amazing! Super friendly, and extremely helpful! The site is pull through and level. Our stay was extremely peaceful. We even had our adult children come for a barbecue for Memorial Day and they were MORE than accommodating. I highly recommend this place, and I believe I am going to book it next weekend as well!

We called ahead and got a good idea of what we needed and what to expect. Upon arrival, we were beyond impressed. Wendy was so helpful and accommodating. She didn't rush us or seem bothered even though we came just after closing. (We didn't know!) We were able to take advantage of their active duty special. The store had everything we needed that we didn't grab beforehand. (Fire wood and energy drinks, plus cow candy for the little one!) She not only got us our map she was kind enough to actually take us to our site and show us where the facilities were. Since we came during the week, no one else was using the primitive tent sites with us which made for a private and exclusive experience. During the night, we could still hear trains and airplane but none of that could've ruined our amazing night. We were provided with a fire ring and couldn't have asked for more. She made sure to give us a 24 hour phone number in case there were ANY problems. Definitely will be back any time we are in town. Thank you again.

My husband, 2 young children, 2 dogs, and I all camped out here with our pop up this Labor day weekend. Man did we have a great time. This facility is amazingly beautiful. The gentleman who owns the property is so nice! You can tell he is proud of the place and all the cool history that goes a long with it. They have a cute club house with a pool table, a shop for various supplies (most importantly ice cream) and free movies you can rent! It also has wifi that worked well enough we could even stream movies on our tablet. Also, for other dog lovers, there is a fenced dog park. When you go down to the river, its like entering another world. We would joke that when we went back up for the restrooms or something (which are unbelievably clean always) it was going back into the light. The lower section of the camp ground is heavily treed with giant, mature trees and tons of shade. The fishing is very good. The people are so friendly. Lots of great wildlife to watch as well! We highly recommend this place and will be back as soon as we can!

Nice roomy sites with patio and picnic table. We enjoyed the ranch atmosphere. Friendly staff. Great dog park, with lighting at night, lots of other areas for dog walking. Far enough away from San Antonio to feel rural, but close enough for tourist attractions, and other city amenities like grocery stores, etc. Small market close by for essentials and gasoline is handy.

It's sad because the staff is really nice, but I won't stay here again. We tent camped. The second night we stayed, people at the next site (several yards away) blasted music so loud the ground was thumping until after 11:30pm. There was no way to enjoy nature. The nearest bathroom is a 5 minute drive, unless you want to use a portable toilet a few sites down. Pluses: the cows and the showers have good water pressure.

Wonderful place!!Very friendly staff! Nice kids play area, and great dog park. The best part of this camp site was the river, when we booked we didn’t see a lot of mentions about it, it was beautiful. Such a great surprise. Wonder for a family walk, we didn’t swim in it but seen lots of kids in playing in the water.

Great for a family outing, camping, swimming and fishing. I personally have been swimming and fishing the Medina River for 40yrs. I have caught up to 50lb catfish, 18lb bass, 8lb river perch out of this part of the river. Living only a mile away I love camping here. It's clean and maintained nicely. Quiet and just a good place to slow down in life and enjoy nature... I highly recommend visiting this beautiful park.

My wife and I are long term residents. We moved here about 3 mounths ago and feel extremely welcomed. Where do you start with the good about this park? The owners are wonderful people and you can tell by looking around that they LOVE this place. It is not just a business to them. The staff is very professional and courteous and the grounds are very well cared for. It's gated and lit for safety which is one of the main reasons we moved here. They take it very seriously! In addition I haven't even covered the quality of people that live and stay here! I highly recommend this park for longtermers or weekenders, families or those looking for some quiet!

This was the most enjoyable campground we've been to, not only because of its beauty and it's seclusion but because of the hospitality of the owners and their generosity towards us their customers. We reserved two nights and decided on the second day not to stay for other reasons, we were refunded the second day without any hassle whatsoever. i'm sure I will stay there again, share the place with my friends and can always expect a positive experience because of how good the place was, they even have showers clean showers and bathrooms. Your kids will especially love the rope swing over the river at campsite 37

This is a very nice campground with large lots for RVs, the staff is amazing, and the bathrooms and laundry area are very clean. The only thing that really is unfortunate is the dog rescue next door.. The dogs bark continuously with some high pitch, some low pitch, just all around barking. If you tent camp and are down farther on the property you will be very happy, but if you are in an RV around the office area you will not get much peace and quiet.

Very clean camp ground with lots of room to play. Walking distance from a nice creek and the staff is super nice. They even have bikes for the little ones if you didn't have room to pack your own. 20 min from sea world and they support tent for troops. Will stay again if in San Antonio area

This place is a hidden gem within San Antonio!! Best camping I've seen, not only in town, but all of Texas!! The brand new show and bath facilities are always clean. Everyone is extremely friendly, and the park is nice and quiet. Great place for family retreats. There's also a new cabin that they rent out for a very reasonable price. We highly recommend this place!!!
