Best bar in Far West Texas. This spot is like no other. A blast from the past. The proprietor is hilarious and welcoming...and kind of hot. If you get a chance to pop by when they are open it is well worth the drive. Check out the cool art on the side of the building.

Charming, warm, and full of history, this place gives me all the country vibes I’m looking for! The owners are the kindest, most interesting people, and have put so much love into this bar. I came from out of town with a crew of friends, and we enjoyed an evening of twilight and good company.

It’s bittersweet, nice to see the new owner of my Dads bar. I’m Sandy Sanchez-Ortiz, daughter to Victor and Gloria Sanchez that owned that bar. He made it what it is, so much history from our family in this cafe. My great grandmothers family owned it. My dad was born in that cafe in 1942. It’s rich with history, and I hope my dad one day will be asked to put a historical marker by that cafe, it would mean everything to our family for generations to come; every single $1bill on the wall are our families visiting over the course of 30 years, including passer bys who stopped in while we were partying with family. Dads door and a cold beer greeted them always, with a tip jar for 🍻 beers, that’s why it’s the best bar in Texas. Makes me sad but happy to see it thriving. Just don’t forget the history. 💜

I visited this bar on my way back from visiting the Prada Marfa installation. It was their opening night and made for a surreal experience. The interior decoration was eclectic and I found myself starring at the walls to take it all in, while drinks were being served and a barrel fire was blazing out back. If you find yourself in this part of the world, this would be a must-see stop. It is within walking distance of the Valentine's Post Office look for the car door welcome sign and enjoy.

Loved visiting this awesome addition to the west Texas landscape...Don't pass up meeting Victor...a toad above toads...take a picture in this authentic Insta worthy watering hole. Say Hi to Wilson and add your name to the wall in this laid back gem between Marfa and the Prada stop in the sweetheart town of Valentine.
