First aquarium store I've found that actually cares about fresh water aquascaping and planted tanks. Every other aquarium store I've been too in my whole life puts all their effort into the saltwater stuff and makes the fresh water section almost feel like an afterthought which sucks for freshwater enthusiasts. But this place rocks for freshwater. And they know what they're talking about. Beautiful display tanks, helpful staff. Prices are very reasonable for the quality they uphold in this establishment.Only complaint is it seems like they need more staff during busy times. It can be really annoying trying to get someone to help you. But eh, still love the store.

I love this place. They really know their stuff here always willing to help even if there are a million people in the store, they always have plenty of staff on the floor and they have a selection of fish that is always changing but they always keep a good selection stocked that we all know and love i.e bettas, goldfish, ect.

Very well cared for terrarium plants, salt and freshwater fish of all kinds. Their seascapes are so beautiful. They're very knowledgeable about fish and aquariums. It's a nice little shop and relaxing environment, I can get lost just looking at seascapes here. They even have axolotls, super cute!

As a born and raised Austinite, this is the best aquarium store in the area in my lifetime. Staff is great, the store is clean, the plants and animals are healthy. I've been keeping fish for over 30 years, and I am just so glad a store of this quality exists in our area. They helped me start my first real planted tank. I'm not the best designer, but the plants and animals are all healthy and thriving.

This is my one of my go to store for fish stuff! The store is wonderful, perfect for getting the things you need whether it be setups, fish, shrimp and decor. They have very healthy fish. There are different guppies you can get that you cannot get in Petsmart/Petco. There are whole bunch of different fish from cichlids to little gobies. They sell wood and rocks for your aquarium, along with needs like filters. Lots of tanks you can get including set ups that have cool rock formations! They have bettas in reat tanks for them instead of a little container. They have a wide selection of shrimp. Galaxy pintos, tiger shrimp, dream blue and more. The downside is that they put their shrimp with scuds. Scuds are dangerous to shrimp and plant life, especially when they run out of food. So make sure you rinse and dip your plants in before you put them in your tank. Hope they fix the scud issue and put them in a separate tank to sell them. Great and knowledgeable staff, ask any question and they can help you. They are very nice. I would recommend anyone in the fish hobby to come here.Edit: I have come here again and they fixed their scud issue with their shrimp tanks and moved them to different tanks. Wonderful knowledgeable staff and very kind. Ready to help as well! Love this place, assortment of decor, tank needs, setups, fertilizers, fish, shrimp, snails, and many more! Here are some examples and pictures of what they have.

Ok, spent $41 on 2 female ram chiclids and a small plant. The Rams were $16 each. That is twice as much as we can get them elsewhere, but we figured we would help out a small local pet store. Two days later, one female died, while the other is just fine. No problem, we brought our receipt and the fish back for an exchange. The girl behind the cou ter looked at me like I was ignorant and said "we dont do exchanges for dead fish".No exchanges and NO REFUNDS!I will not be back. Wayyyyyyyy OVERPRICED, and no refunds or exchanges....Good luck staying in business with that kind of business model!UPDATE: BOTH FISH DIED! Not a happy customer!!

Tiny Aquatics is a gem in the realm of tropical fish stores, setting the bar high with its unwavering dedication to aquatic health and a no-shortcuts approach to care. Every tank in the store is a testament to their commitment, showcasing vibrant and thriving fish in impeccably maintained environments. It’s refreshing to see a store where every detail, from water quality to feeding practices, is meticulously managed. What really sets Tiny Aquatics apart is their exhaustive inventory. Whether you’re just starting out or you’ve been in the hobby for years, this place has everything you could possibly need—and then some. From hard-to-find species that add a splash of the exotic to any tank, to the latest in filtration technology and high-quality feeds, they cover all bases. The staff, too, are not just employees but fellow hobbyists, always ready to share insights or help troubleshoot any issues you might encounter. In a nutshell, Tiny Aquatics isn’t just a store; it’s a cornerstone of the hobbyist community. Their exceptional range of products, coupled with a genuine passion for fishkeeping, makes them the go-to destination for anyone serious about the hobby.

This store in Austin has a big variety of fish and good choice different supplies but not Aquariums, we found it pricey and too tight.

Let me start by saying I'm somewhat new to this hobby but the friendly staff was super nice and helpful. Their fish, plant, and aquascaping supplies are all here. They even sell things I've never seen. Store is well kept and clean. Prices are fair and reasonable. I was new to aquascaping so I was a bit lost at first but with the guidance and help of the staff there, I was able to put together a beautiful tank for my betta and their tank mates. I can already tell the fish love it. Hands down my favorite store!

I was curious if the store would live up to the ridiculously high rating and it did. Lindsay was great. We are a 30 year old couple and have varying levels of moderate to past beginner experience, but had not owned fish seriously in over a decade. We got a great run down for a 40 gallon tank, help with starting a tank with natural plants, responsible care, and are prepping it for live fish in a few weeks. Lindsay respected our budget and made sure to remind us when we could cut down to a more begginer and cheaper part to get the job done. The fish selection continues to impress me as I learn more about the hobby. By far the most comprehensive fish selection in freshwater, even when online communities say a fish is hard to find.

This place is very, VERY awesome. It’s like going to an aquarium but one where you can buy the fish you’re looking at. It’s currently all freshwater, but it is DENSE. They have a little bit of everything. Not to mention the personnel are very knowledgeable about all things aquarium and will help you with the biggest and smallest of details. I try to find reasons to come to this location even though I live much closer to other “pet stores.” They have earned my business for life.

This store is soo well kept! I'm guessing, the owner was working in store and was so very knowledgeable and a customer also helps us answer questions, you could feel the excitement in the air! We only went to find plants for our terrariums and walked away with SOO much more! Love this store!

Edit: Tiny Aquatics has moved to their new location and its a very wonderful store. They have plenty of livestock that is much easier to find and view due to the amount of space that they now have. Their inventory seems to have expanded as well, even featuring Aquarium Co-op goods. Their pricing is also incredibly fair in comparison to some stores. Wonderful store that also has a kind owner behind it from the handful of times that I've encountered him. However, the staff that work here seem to have much more aggressive attitudes when it comes to helping people. On all three occasions that I've come to the store, only the owner of the store ever greeted me, but that was only 10 minutes after I had been wandering around. And on all three occasions when I requested help, I was constantly met with "huh?" or "what?" in an unfriendly tone. I am soft spoken in public, and to constantly have these two words constantly said to me in a rude manner felt belittling since I was mainly trying to ask questions and/or have a request fulfilled. Perhaps it was on accident, but every time that I have ever come in to the store, it was always during slow hours, never when it was absurdly busy. The store is a little hard to find but it's a nice and cozy store other than that. I wanted to check out Tiny Aquatics since I saw it online and also heard it by tongue while working. It's pretty small on the inside but they really do make the best of it. They have heaters, shrimp foods and regular fish foods, rocks and woods, siphons, and two rooms filled with freshwater fish that are ideal for small aquariums plus a table filled with small plants like anubias' and more. Prices are fair and reasonable for the quality of their livestock and dry goods. The staff was very friendly and greeted me immediately once I came in. Definitely coming back in the future to buy some of their goodies.

Great place for live plants and tropical fish. The employees are VERY knowledgeable, not your average employee. The selection is great in every aspect, and the animals and plants are healthy. As an added bonus they have rare terrarium plants which is why this is my favorite aquarium store. Two of my hobbies are combined in ok t collecting and aqua-scaping. I will always shop here first.

I’m deeply in love with this store. It’s a problem. We’ve been in a couple times now- gotten some snails, tetras, plants/mosses, rocks, feeding supply, and driftwood. The staff has been nothing short of incredible. They are so knowledgeable and helpful- I ask all of my idiot beginner questions and they answer so fully and in depth. Their tanks are gorgeous and clean and all of the animals look HEALTHY. The bettas have a wonderful and appropriate display that doesn’t make you feel guilty for even looking at them.We are customers for life :)

Mike was great. He was very knowledgeable in which fish would cohabitate happily and helped me to fill out my new updated 75 gallon aquarium. Awesome to know they fill CO2 as well!

Helpful staff, clean environment, high quality plants and fish, really liked this place... some decent diversity of fish species and was totally worth the trip from central Austin but for more diversity of species I'd still frequent Aqua Dome if you are in central Austin. Tony aquatics has some very impressive tanks though, it's clear they understand how to build sustainable eco systems with plants and all. I also loved that they have great selection of rimless tanks in a lot of different sizes.

This shop isn't just an aquatics store, it feels more like a friend's house. I enjoy talking to Alex or Adison, they are always enthusiastic to help, and I can tell they enjoy the job as much as the fishkeeping hobby is fun. I've never been let down by them and going to Tiny Aquatics is always exciting, I typically leave with more than I intended to purchase. =)

Update: All three have now died and I am out $85. Rest in piece Beau.My daughters and I purchased 3 beta fish from this store yesterday after having cycled our 3 tanks for 24 hours and adding in the acclimator they solid us, 2 of the 3 fish died. After spending $25 for each Betta, when I could have gone to Petco I had expected more. Not once did the associate who sold us the fish ask if we had everything we needed nor did they offer advice on what we should and should not do even after telling her it was our first fish. Their only response was if they had died in the bag they would help us and if we wanted they would test our water.I am very disappointed to say the least. Rest in peace Jeff and Ty

I love this store so much. They carry aquarium coop stuff, which is super nice and rare to find in fish stores. Everytime I come in I find something new I want and I usually end up getting it. Staff super friendly, great advice and knowledge, plus gorgeous tanks in the store, I love it. Their glass catfish school tank has made me want to eventually have a tank of them for myself. I swear I end up coming here once a week now, and I never regret it. The only suggestion/thing I'd love to see is more betta selection, like aliens/smaragdina or other wild types if possible, as I'd love to shop local instead of off ebay. But really, no complaints, if you enjoy freshwater aquariums/terrariums come to this store ASAP!! I attached a photo of my betta? killifish? I'm undecided, tank that I set up largely using stuff from here

My wife and I love going here for fish. The staff there are way more than happy to help with any questions that we have had and even offer better suggestions to set ups that we already have. The prices of their fish have gone up just a bit here recently but then again what place of business hasn't had to raise their prices. They are still reasonably priced in my opinion and do have a very wide range of fish to choose from freshwater wise. From peaceful to semi aggressive to aggressive. I would definitely suggest taking a look if not for fish then for the decor like rocks and wood for your tank. They also have some other supplies for maintenance and starting up aquariums.
