Our baby had a scheduled appointment to be spayed at 7. We got there, realized we left something they needed at the house, so I went home to get it while my husband stayed behind with our furbaby. I returned, we got everything they needed from us and filled out and we left around 8:15. They said they would call us when she was done.I called at noon to check on her to be told she had just been sedated for her procedure. So she was terrified in a foreign environment for 4 hours for what reason? Not to mention we received a call the day before telling us that our puppy wasn't to eat or drink anything after midnight the night before her procedure. So I know my baby was hungry.It is now almost 330 in the afternoon and I still have not received a call. I am 100% sympathetic of the fact that they see several animals every day, but that's why she was scheduled. Lack of preparation on their part does not constitute or rationalize all this.Editing to add: I called them at 4 to be told she was ready. My husband and I had to remind them to get the cone for her. We got home and realized they did not give us back our copy of her shot record. To top everything off, the incision does not look like it was cleaned very well at all.Do not take your baby here.

Before coming here I went to a vet for my baby and was told she had severe anemia and hypoglycemia. From there I was told she needed a blood transfusion and she’d have to be hospitalized for days and she still probably won’t live. I drove an hour and a half to get to Brook Hollow and I am so happy I did. They saved my baby girl at a very reasonable cost! They did a thorough exam to figure out the cause of what is going on to treat that first and then to the blood transfusion. The staff was amazing and very honest through the whole process. I thank them so much and would recommend them to anyone! Will definitely make the drive to see them again!

We have used this clinic twice. We had a cat we truly loved, sick over a weekend, the Vet didn't seem like she wanted to operate, she talked us out of it and we had him put to sleep.A week ago, our outside cat was very ill. Not walking and crying in pain. I called Brookhollow and made an appointment. I was told, "we are not busy". We arrived on time, they were very busy. We waited over an hour to see the Vet. She came in, pulled some hair back and found a puncture. I said, "is that a spider bite?" and she said, "no canine". I said, 'why aren't there two punctures?' Anyway, she spent less than five minutes with us. She said, "I'll give her an antibiotic shot". After waiting over 30 minutes more, a tech came in and gave her a shot and says, "How do you want to pay?" She wanted the money before we left the room! I've never seen this, we pay with cash all the time and don't owe a dime. She said, "it will be $132.00". My wife paid the bill and we left, after being there over two hours. When I got home, I took a picture of the puncture and sent it to my Godson, who is a Vet in Edmond, Oklahoma. He said, "that is a scorpion sting". He sent me a photo and it was exactly the same. He said, "They are very painful to cats, but they get over them in a few days". I told him my experience with Brookhollow and he said, "the antibiotic shot will help her with infection, but the shot itself is about $5 for it so I can't see them charging that amount for a shot, especially when the Vet didn't do anything but find the bite spot."Needless to say, we will NOT use this clinic again. I think they killed my first cat, and over charged me for the second cat and wasted my whole day.

Brookhollow is not my normal vet, they had never seen any of my pets before today. However when my elderly dog got out and was picked up by animal control with unknown injuries Brookhollow was there and ready to help. They took her in with no appointment on no notice as an emergency patient and provided her with amazing care. I cannot over state how grateful I am for the quick and phenomenal care my baby received today. From the very bottom of my heart thank you so so so much to any doctor or tech who worked on Gemma today and quickly put my panicked mind at ease that she is going to be okay. Thank you so much for dealing with me being a crazy mess this morning, thank you for taking care of my baby this afternoon, thank you for all of it. Y’all really are my heros today.

I’ve recently had to make 2 very uncomfortable visits to this clinic and both times I have been met with such compassion. I didn’t get the first vets name but, I did get Jennifer’s this last time and she went above and beyond for our situation. So incredibly thankful to have been with her and Rebecca this last visit. I would recommend anyone to bring their pets or strays here for help if they are looking to be met with empathy and compassion. Thank you!

Hopefully you don't go through what I am going through with this awful facility. My friends mom had to go to a nursing home and nobody would or could care for her old one eyed dog Freckles. I took on the task because Letty Paterson is a sweet old lady and she loves Freckles and I'm going to try to take care of her. Fast forward a couple years and I get laid off. I can't really afford the 110 mile drive to Palestine and if I got there I just ain't got a hundred bucks for the visit. But I have 25 dollars to order the prednisone on chewy. I have that and that is what this vet has prescribed freckles for 6 years now. But they won't fill it. The poor dog is scratching her hair off and all I can afford is the medicine but that isn't good enough for these extortionists. They won't do a zoom meeting or anything. I must drive there 110 miles and pay the extortion fee or freckles scratches herself to death. Shame on these wicked people.

The people at this clinic are a blessing. The girlie in the attached photo had been hit by a car. They have taken care of her beautifully. Dr. Morton has saved this 3 yo shepherd/lab ability to walk while working with me financially. These people are heroes to my family for saving our girl and helping maintain a high quality of life for her.

Took my dog in 12/04/2023 for vommitting clear foam the vet did xray and gave him 2 shots, and he received 2 med for me to administer and was ordered to give canned chicken and rice that he will not eat! No blood work done!As of today his health has declined no improvements!I personally can say that I wish that I had explored more options his normal vet couldnt get him in! If you are reading this please for your fur babies sake consider another clinic!This is sad I can say that I have no plans on returning him to your location he is suffering he should be on his way to recovery improving not declining! I paid 308 for more harm them good!as he is suffering!Update he is fighting for his life now, after blood work he has an acute kidney injury! 😢!

Always an amazing visit with them! Always feel like loved family! They are patient, understanding, and very knowledgeable no matter what these two puppies get into... and well supplied with whatever product is needed also! Highly recommend this place!! The drive was 100% worth it and will be making it for all my animal needs!After being told the night before that my kitty wasn’t going to make it and i needed to euthanize her with no tests being ran and nothing but a physical test done at a vet hospital clinic in my town, i came here with intentions of that needing to happen! i walked in with tears in my eyes and left with a smile! Dr. Swanberg was extremely sweet, caring, understanding, and showed generous amounts of empathy! She wanted to get my kitty the best amount of help and the best care to get her to feel better! She explained and broken all the things down for us to understand! They are super sweet to your animals and can tell that everyone there just wants what’s best for not only your animals but you as well!

The staff at Brookhollow always tried to take care of my little girl in her last years, worked with us to make sure she was stressed as little as possible, and showed us the appropriate compassion.People like Dr. Swanberg, Lindsey, Ashley, Jessica and Jaci go above and beyond to take care of our babies and keep us coming back despite living about an hour away now. They’re not just good at their jobs but good people.Dr. Swanberg helped us say goodbye to Lily on May 31st after 15 beautiful years. Because of her, Lily got to cross over at home, peacefully, rocking on her screened-in porch in the sunbeams, sitting on my lap and listening to the birds—her favorite place to be. She was surrounded by her 7 best people who had spent the day showing her all kinds of love.Because we noticed she was suddenly getting worse right away and because of the treatment she received at Brookhollow that morning, she never had to endure a truly bad day or suffer. She even drank and ate her favorite food once she got home that morning, and sprawled out on her side all comfy again.As someone who loved my cat more than I’ve ever loved anything, I always knew I would need to consider the advice of an objective third party to know when it was time to say goodbye. We chose to take all her future pain onto ourselves so that she would never have to endure it. It was the hardest decision we ever made, but we made it for her, and I appreciate the help in reaching the right decision.We’re grateful for everything Brookhollow has done for us and for our little girl, and for the gift of the best last day possible for our best friend. We’ll continue bringing our pets here because we know they’re in great hands.

We are from Colorado and had a family emergency in Louisiana when Hurricane Laura blasted through. We had to act immediately and pack all of our belongings, our 2 Curr dogs and head south. Our 7 y/o "boys" (dogs), Luke and Silas, were born and raised in Southwest Louisiana, but we'd had them in the beautiful, cool (and COLD) climate of Colorado for a year. Our nights and early mornings were in the 40s recently. We all were feeling the stress, heat and humidity as we drove further south.We had a tragedy on our way to help our Louisiana family. The boys (and us!) were really feeling the heat. We stopped and walked and watered them constantly. Our rest stop in Elkhart quickly became a horrible emergency situation. Silas had succumbed to the heat! He was panting, comatose and unresponsive and we immediately shifted into emergency mode. My husband is a retired veterinarian and knew what to do but we had no supplies! Nothing to drop Silas' temperature quickly. My son, David, jumped back in the Jeep with the U-Haul in tow and flew to the nearest quick stop. We put Silas in the truck and took off looking for a nearby clinic. We finally found one that was open. It was Brookhollow Veterinary Clinic. They were extremely compassionate and told us to come in immediately! It's a little difficult to notice the Clinic when you're not from the area even though Amanda gave us great directions. Just minutes (seconds?) before we got there, Silas breathed his final breath. We pulled into the driveway and the Vet techs and Dr. Morton came right out. We were a mess from trying to keep Silas alive. Amanda just hugged me even though I was sweaty and filthy from laying on the dirt with Silas. Dr. Morton was extremely kind and compassionate and offered to take care of him for us. We sobbed like babies when we got back in our vehicles to continue our trip south. We're forever grateful for their kindness. We will stop by someday and thank them once again. They truly are a loving and compassionate Clinic. Rest in Peace Silas 4/4/13-8/29/20

I've lost 3 pets after taking them here in the past 3-4 months with the most recent passing today, 01/01/24. I took her in on 12/29/23 with an open wound the size of a quarter. They clipped the crusty parts off, gave her an antibiotic shot and sewed her up. No tests ran or anything. I'm done with this company, I've lost too many animals because of them.

I highly recommend bringing your fur babies here, they are so kind and helpful and Dr Morton is wonderful and gave the best treatment and care for my fur-baby. The facility was very clean as well.

Never had any problems with them caring for our previous animals, but about 5 months ago I took my cat in for sudden hair loss in patches and severe dandruff. They told me he had a flea allergy and didn't even run any tests otherwise, just assumed that. Today we had to rush him to Tyler because he suddenly got extremely sick. He was put down this morning due to severe ketoacidosis from untreated diabetes that we didn't know about because Brookhollow made assumptions and ignored the dandruff, claiming it was just an allergy to fleas he didn't even have.

I love this vet. They are very caring and informative about your pet’s needs. I wouldn’t want to go anywhere else.Update 8/2022: recently had my cat spayed and I was in and out quickly. They called when she was ready, picked her up and so far she’s healed well with zero issues.

Was told my dog had a prolapsed urethra with zero test done and told me to neuter my dog took him to southwest hills veterinarian clinic an after test were done found out he had a UTI an had crystals in there, so he was prescribed some antibiotics and a check up appointment was given place is wack

This past weekend we came home to find Mumford non responsive and very sick. He hadn’t shown any indication up to this point of being ill. We contacted his current vet and she was out of town. She recommended Brookhollow and my wife took him up. They diagnosed him with pancreatitis. Got him on an IV and saved his life. We will always be grateful to Brookhollow for their service. Mumford is back to his normal self (with a new diet). Thank you Brookhollow.
