I can't tell you enough how incredible the staff is at our Petco location in Midlothian, Tx. Bri is our groomer and does an excellent job and cares for our dog as if she was her own. She is amazing!

Sandra is fabulous. She and the others are always welcoming and kind to both myself and Gus. It is a pleasure going to them for Gus’s needs.

I have been bringing my dog to get grooming and this time my grooming was terrible. It seems like his hair was choppy it was not a teddy bear cut. Not happy 😒

I had a terrible experience with the Petco Midlothian grooming salon. A store manager did nothing to help alleviate the situation, either. My appointment was at 3:30 PM on Saturday, February 4, 2023. When I checked my puppy in for his appointment, the employee told me it would be four to five hours (not their customary three to four) before he would be done, maybe more, since I brought him in so late in the day. Mind you, this is an appointment slot they had available when I signed him up online. Since the store closed at 8:00 PM, I thought that would give them 4 1/2 hours to get him done. I found out I had been given the wrong information when I received a call a few minutes before the SALON closed that my dog was ready to be picked up and they would be closing at 6:00 PM. I explained that this was not enough advanced notice and I had been told it would be at least four to five hours. The woman I spoke with from the salon told me I'd just have to get a store manager to get my dog when I arrived. I asked what she's going to do with my dog, and she said he'd be left in a crate in the salon, after the salon shut down, but someone would check on him periodically.By this time, I was getting extremely concerned because I had already been given the wrong information regarding when he'd be ready to pick up. I had no reason to believe there would actually be a store manager on duty, or anyone with a key to the salon, once I arrived. So, I immediately called the store and spoke to a manager and communicated my concerns. She just said, "We can't allow him to run loose in the store!" I told her that's not what I'm asking. Since the salon was the one who made the mistake by giving me the wrong information, someone from the salon should have to stay with him until I arrived, and I was already on my way. I said it is unacceptable that he should be left alone in an unfamiliar environment because he is still a young puppy. She assured me someone would be checking on him every five minutes but not that anyone would be staying with him.Fortunately, I arrived five minutes after the salon was supposed to close and they were delayed in closing because another customer was checking out. If I had been delayed by traffic even a few more minutes, this could have gone much worse. I am disabled and I chose this particular puppy to have trained as my service dog once he is old enough. So, I've been working with him diligently to ensure he doesn't develop any anxieties since that can cause a service dog to wash out of training.UPDATE: After I got home, I saw that I received a text around 5:15 PM that same day confirming my appointment for 9:30 AM that morning. Who changes appointments after the fact? I recall that when I arrived for his appointment, the woman working the desk at the salon seemed angry that the computer had him listed as a small breed and this meant she would have to make some adjustments. When I signed him up online, I selected "Standard Poodle" from their dropdown menu, which is not a small breed, so apparently someone wasn't paying attention. So, it appears that this was all an attempt to get back at me for what they thought was my error. Even if I had made the error, it is horrible, to me, that anyone would take it out on an innocent puppy. They did not do a full trim since it was his first (and now last) time. It should have been stated on their website that first time grooms will not be a full groom. What they did do was not as I wanted, and a family member had to even out some areas. He whined, shook and struggled hard, which is not something he'd ever done before. I am absolutely appalled at the horrible treatment my puppy and I have received and would give this salon zero stars, if I could.P.S. Attached is a photo of my puppy's right eye after grooming with Midlotian Petco grooming. The right eye is much redder than the left.

Update: a year later, and we still absolutely love this grooming salon because of Bri. She has taken care of us so well and is very on top of things. She obviously works very hard and loves pets.Initial: I have taken our dogs here for the past few months. One of them has a genetic abnormality and has extra toenails and paw pads on top of his feet. Beth (and everyone else) is so great with him and our other dog. She is always there, and it is obvious how much she cares. They have helped in many hard times when our dog has nails rip or break. Love them :).

Always very happy with the grooming service my dog receives. Great discussions in detail to personalize for Oscar. I can tell he is treated well while in their care.
