This is my go to place when placing orders for my dogs needs. They also provide the best pricing on low-cost pet vaccinations. On a recent trip, I was in and out within an hour. The store is so organized and very well kept. I definitely encourage you to visit the new location.

The people are nice but I bought a hamster on April 13 and now my hamster is dead. She died of worms. They should not be selling animals without knowing their health history. And then I called them for help and they said they don’t treat them. Unless I fully return her. So sad…

Just took my 1.5 year Havanese to PetCo grooming for the first time. Her groomer (Trae) was soooo nice and sweet with her/me. Since it was her first time here and she was a little nervous, Trae did her groom himself and said that he’d love to work on her in the future so she can keep getting used to the same person in the same place. :) She had some matting, but he never once made me feel bad for it and was super understanding and kind the whole time.She even was sent home with a report card about her behavior, and he walked me through the specific parts of her groom she was most nervous about, just so I could stay in the loop. This place is 10000x better than where we’ve been going previously!With taxes, it was $80 before tip for the basic wash/cut. While similar to the other place, I would pay far more based on the service here.I have read some of the negative reviews about this Grooming Department, but my experience from today (9/25/23) has been nothing short of wonderful. I 10/10 recommend! Thank you, Trae!

Do not get their pet vital plan or whatever it is called. You'll be told you can cancel anytime you want, but it is a lie. I tried to cancel it because we don't buy anything for our bird there. We just use Amazon as it is usually 30-50% cheaper for the same brand. They have India answering all their customer care calls, obviously they don't care what we want done.

very knowledgeable staff, they give you personalized attention. I went to a competitor (petsmart) thinking I would get similar service and I was wrong. I was ignored there and left to wander the asiles until I finally just left. The difference between the two is that the minute you walk in the door, you feel welcomed. The staff take time to answer you questions at the same time juggling all the daily task they have to manage. Very clean and organized store as well.

Very good. A bit slow to get help with the crickets but was helped well with great courtesy. The price was very cheap and I had a pleasant experience there.

Petco Mesquite Grooming Department, Mesquite, TXPlease don’t take your dog to this place. Their incompetence led to the extreme trauma and suffering of my dog prior to her euthanasia later that day.I can’t stand it when people write ridiculously negative reviews, but this place truly deserves it.I took my senior chihuahua, Thelma, for a simple bath. When I picked her up, she was lethargic, her breathing was EXTREMELY LABORED and she was clearly in distress. The staff was utterly uncaring. unsympathetic and far worse UNCONCERNED about her condition. Either that or they were UNAWARE. I’m not sure which is worse. They didn’t even bother to inform me that something was clearly wrong with her as they moved her from the cage to her carrier and handed her off for me to pay the bill.When I asked if there was a vet nearby, no one could even answer my question definitively. Seriously!When I got her to the vet, she ultimately had to be put to sleep due to heart failure.Yes, she was a senior dog and I signed the paperwork required basically saying that I wouldn’t sue them if something happened. I understand that she had heart failure, but she arrived there healthy and happy, so the jury is still out on what they may have done to her to cause such distress. I’m REALLY upset because I wasn’t notified of the problem my phone prior to my arrival to pick her up or when I did so she was made to SUFFER because of the staff’s utter disregard my pet’s health or well-being.I even tipped the “person” who carelessly allowed my dog suffer before I ascertained how sick she actually was.It’s been over a year since this happened so I’ve had plenty of time to heal and move on, but now I feel obligated to make other potential victims of their CRUELTY TO ANIMALS aware of my experience…on behalf of Thelma and any other beloved pets they my have traumatized and/or victimized.The first pic is of Thelma happy and healthy in November 2021. The second is of us at the vet just before she was euthanized the day of her appointment with PETCO Grooming in Mesquite, TX on 12/09/2021

The pet care manager named Aileen is extremely unpleasant to deal with. She has terrible customer service skills but is extremely quick to throw the “I’m a manager card.” I asked for help with one of the tarantulas and she told me she didn’t like that animal so to ask her coworker who was also afraid of them. He was still willing to help me and I am very experienced because I own multiple so I even told him I was able to help him. She had a change of heart and rushed over telling me I can’t help at all because I’m a customer and kept escalating the situation even though other petcos I have had a great time helping the employees who are fearful of tarantulas. This was ironic as well considering she had no desire to help until I offered to help the other employee. She snapped at me a few times and it was visible the other employee was uncomfortable. I really don’t know why a pet store employee is on such a power trip over something harmless but I think management above her needs to have a talk or she needs a different job. This is the second unpleasant experience I have had with her.

Petco has alot of choices for your different pets. A little pricey on some things but, a good selection. The one employee working when we were there was not paying attention up front, we stood there a good 5 to 10 minutes waiting to be checked out. I finally yelled, "HELLO!!" He then came to the register.

I preferred the previous location. The aisles here are so small! Difficult to get one cart through - impossible to pass by anyone. The selection of items also seems smaller.

Trae, the groomer who cut my puppy’s hair did a good job. Wasn’t able to talk to him but he seem to be professional for he does his craft so well. The rest of the staff were approachable too. Highly recommended this store at Market East in Mesquite.

Went in there to get some things for my fish tank…. they had at least 20 bearded dragons in one tank as shown in the picture and i went in a few weeks ago and they had about 50 rats in one cage and they were all on top of eachother . I work at petsmart and i know there is no way they’re allowed to have that many animals in one enclosure.

The staff was so rude to us. We waited by the fish area for about 30 minutes until they finally helped us. Then we paid for for 5 fish and only it got 4. Also the bathrooms were so disgusting.

I took my pup today to this location, its the second time I bring him in. I just love it. My dog is on the older side, and always so nervous around people, he doesn't like people and he's always so comfortable here. And both times they told me he was a sweet pup, and im always thinking he's gonna bite or snap lol his groomer today was Kelcie, and she was soooo friendly and welcoming. I just loved her energy. Looks like she loves her job. And not to mention, she did such a great job on my pups hair. He came out looking flawless! Thank you so much for taking care of my dog, he means the world to me ❤
