Was great ...the carnies were nice and the entire atmosphere was perfect. However......I would not purchase food or drinks.... complete rip off...Tip: go after you have eaten somewhere or plan on going out to eat after...$10 for a corn dog or even a simple drink is way too expensive,!

Its fun for the whole family. Rides, games, food, rodeo, etc. Except, every year it just keeps getting more expensive and the rides are same broken down or half working equipment. Most rides missing bunch of lights and maintenance.

Had a grand ole time at the livestock and rodeo show. $30 for the all rides pass. $15 for the rodeo show. There is also an entrance fee and parking fee. Plenty to see, do, and eat all day.

Loved it!! Took my wife and twins for the first time in 5 years to a rodeo show. I recommend it 100 percent, great for the entire family. Rides for small children and adults, the food is amazingly good, and if you're looking to buy a cowboy hat, that's where to go. We are going back every year.

Rio Grande Valley Livestock show does it big! During the week of spring break, livestock and the community come together to get these animals to market. Be sure to try as many foods as you can, but there's a downside to that, this year they decided to use a "blastpass" for ease of purchasing food, but it does feel like money decipates much much faster lol. Still food is delicious. Give it a try. Rides are good, and for an all day pass, that pass isnt too bad. Get yourself one. Enjoy!

My family and I enjoy the Rio Grande Livestock Show. Every year we plan the Day and Time of the Day that we will leave and go to visit it. These last few years it became more important because now we are also able to take our Granddaughters and enjoy the rides, the games and really enjoy the food/drinks. Because we do this as a family we focus on the family ans so we also go to relax and walk around the animals too. We will also visit the many other displays. A nice place to relax walk and enjoy yourself.

Xtreme bull riding was fantastic. The down side is the fair grounds doesn't have enough places to sit when you order food specially the BBQ truck. The other downside is having to buy pass cards to buy food. Very very inconvenient for people. We will eat before we come next time.

Trying to leave the parking at night was horrendous. Waited an hour just to get from the parking spot to the main lane of cars exiting. No parking attendants to control cars inside of the lots themselves, only at the exits where they were not really needed. The Rodeo was only $10 a ticket, but then they hit you with extra charges: additional $10 a person to enter the fairgrounds; parking another $10; slice of pizza $5; corn dog $8 ($9 if paying credit). On the positive note, the rodeo itself was very entertaining. And I’m glad we bought general seating, as there was plenty of room in the bleachers, and we could move around and change seats if we wanted. All in all, I would probably not return because of the parking situation and the high food and drink prices.

Holy expensive. So you need to buy a prepaid card to do rides (unless you buy a band), or eat. These cards want a minimum $5 purchase. So you always leave with some money on the card. Free money for the show, big loss for you. They don't give vendors the full price for the food you buy so they have to jack their prices to compensate. Nasty racket. Avoid eating there if you can, or don't go at all if you don't mind handing them more money than you get credit for.

With the new blast pass alot of the vendors didn't show up, was missing my all time favorite the turkey leg! Only 1 turkey leg vendor showed up! And there wasn't many food choices to make either. It's been really slow not a lot of people, some may say it's better to get on the rides, but it's actually hurting the businesses that did show up! They need to go back to the old way of charging because vendors are having to pay an extra 20% to the stockshow for being there. Hopefully next year they go back to how they did business in prior years and all the vendors come back and make it as great as before!

No one takes cash or cards. You have to fill up a card and use it all or you lose your money. Bought rodeo tickets only to get there and find out you need a pass to get into the grounds as well. This is tantamount to extortion one they have an initial investment you.I will never come again, and I will try and dissuade anyone who mentions coming here in the future from wasting their hard earned money on a fleecing.

Only Inconvenience is the New Purchase Charge Card at Kiosk for Food & Drinks. They Should be more organized with a list of Prices, that way customers know how much they want to Deposit onto Card. Other than going back & forth at kiosk to add more money.

How does anybody afford this place??!! $12 for a small brisket sandwich?! $9 for a soda pop?!Insane! And that's besides parking fees and entrance fees. We only have one child. How is anybody with more than one child doing this?! Like, wow!The bull riding tickets were worth it for sure, but everything else was not. It's like they are charging you so much just because they can. Tells me what kind of people they are. I will not go back. It just doesn't make sense for me. There were so many people, so one less ain't a drop in the bucket.

Definitely better stock shows and rodeos out there. Typical fair food and typical Mexican food options. The basic rides and livestock. Usually always a petting zoo, ponies to ride and a bird exhibit. This year they have animal cruelty in the form of a sea lion show, really disappointed that more people aren't concerned about those poor animals (California sea lions) whom typically are found in the Pacific Ocean (cold water) are out here in this Texas heat and are stuck swimming in tiny pools. Besides that, it's a nice family event that has rodeo, food and rides.

If I could rate this “NO STARS,” I would!! It has changed so much and so much more expensive! The pay system they’ve implemented using a universal card “only” as your source of payment is a scam! Trust me, you’re better off going to the Houston Livestock show. The valley has really downgraded this venue!!

The entrace is $15 bucks for adults and children is 5 parking is $10. They have many animals like pigs, cows, sheep and rabbits. They also have shows and the carnival rides as well as many vendors and food concessions.

This place has changed over time in a negative way. We would always look forward to going to the livestock show every year. We noticed certain food stands were replaced with food chain companies. The biggest disappointment was the food price increase and the blast pass. I'm sorry to say that it was difficult having to deal with the blast pass, knowing that you will not be reimbursed if you have any money left on the pass. Our cash was not accepted anywhere. Sorry, but we are not looking forward to returning to the livestock show next year.

Ticket guy was so rude. My parents left because of him. $50 in tickets down the drain. And the blast pass is the worst. What a hassle.

Extremely expensive, everything over price, parking 10, a turkey leg 20 dollars. I will never again come to the event unless parking is free and one price for everything not including rodeo.
