I had some work done on my car and the mechanic used the wrong part. I took my truck in to pep boys to check the oil change and tune up to see if they were done correctly or if they had been botched too. After looking at my truck, they told me that oil change and tune up were correct but said the actuator they installed was not only the wrong part, but an after market foreign part. I asked if they could remedy that situation and they referred me to another shop. At that point I asked how much I owed them and they charged me nothing but gave me peace of mind and a great referral. I felt so bad at that but they insisted. Later, I needed a fan clutch so I took the truck back to the shop and they did a great job. AND SO QUICK!!! I am so impressed with the integrity of this company as well as the quality and efficiency of their work. The price was pretty great too! Thanks guys!!!

Worse service, I went to fix my tire since we got the warranty for tires they couldn’t not help me. They were charging me $200 for new tire. I went to Discount tire at Edinburg best service they repaired my tire and rotate for free.

CAREFUL WITH YOUR WHEEL COVERS. Took my truck to get new tires, my rims come with a black cover on them from the dealership. Well the tech wasn’t careful and broke the clamps that help secure them to the rim on all 4 wheels! Now I have to spend money to get new ones because the ones they broke no longer hold on right and rattle very loudly and fall off while driving. And of course when I brought it up to them they denied everything and said they were already like that. That is bull, when I took the truck in I specifically mentioned to the them that the wheels had covers on them because they look like actual rims and I had previously had the same experience at discount tires, however unlike pep boys, discount tires actually took responsibility and replaced it. If I knew this is the way they worked I would off paid more and gone somewhere else. I’d take my business elsewhere.

They should be called F-boys.. I made an appointment and it took them almost 12 hours just to give me a quote for installing my truck parts. The quote was way over $3000.00That's almost 4 times the amount of book time for what needed to be done. When they called me and told me how much it was going to be I said just fix the tie rod ends on the driver's side.They ok and called me back and said it would be over $340.00 to do that and I said fine just do that and nothing else and I mentioned "Nothing Else " !!! Then I felt something wrong in my gut so I called back and asked that they are going to fix the inner and outer tie rod ends correct and they replied no just the outer, and I said why just the outside when the inner is worse than the outer. They replied OH really well that's going to be another $20 to $40.00 more to do that then.I was so frustrated with the Bs that I said don't touch a thing, nothing, anything at all and I went and picked up my truck and parts. I found a place that was more honest about how much to take my parts off and put the new ones on which was $2800.00 less.What a SCAM, SCAM!!I would love to talk to your Corporate office and officer's. Word or word's of mouth can kill a company. I hope that this company down the road feels what I felt when they were trying to slip it to me without any Vaseline and right up the you know what!!!!!To The Corporate office feel free to give me a call anytime.You store in McAllen, TexasI guess everything is Bigger

Took my truck for alignment and balance. Couldn't get balance done because their equipment is older. Alignment was done butbit came out worse than when I too it. The steering wheel was crooked and the truck pulled to one side when driving. I had to take it to Pueblo Tires to balance my tires and they were able to fix the alignment as well.

Pep Boys really goes above and beyond, committing to a thorough check of the vehicle; evaluating what needed to be done while highlighting things to look out for in the future. Service was prompt. I generally do not know what kind of work goes into replacing brakes, bearings, and rotors, so I'm assuming the price was fair. They work with Synchrony Car Care, so I was able to finance the expense.

Scheduled an appointment for an oil change at a specific time. Showed up and the girl tells me she will not have time to do my oil change, giving me countless excuses. I scheduled an appointment for a reason drove 20 min to get here and now an additional 20 min. You have wasted 40 min of my time. It would be important to keep up with your website and not offer appointments that you’re not able to attend. Wasting your customers time is unacceptable.

Got quoted 200 dollars for a gas filter change that's crazy for 10 minutes of labor and a 30 dollar part. Other than that the people were friendly and knowledgable. Got a 2 step fuel system cleanse and I'll see after a full tank of gas if it made a difference or not.

I just want to note that I use to work for Ford as a mechanic before getting into this. I had recently just purchased a new car with new tires. I took it them to get my tires balanced and to get a front end alignment due to the car having wobbling in the front and pulling to one side slightly. Knowing what more then likely was going on and having checked everything else, they proceeded to tell me that they couldn't do a front alignment because all my tires had really bad bald spots and I needed to get all four tires replaced.They also told me that balancing and getting an alignment wouldn't do anything. Luckily after some pressure they finally agreed to at least balance the front tires, which took them hours even though I was one of the only vehicles in the garage that morning. Afterwards the cars front tires stopped wobbling but kept pulling to the side, so i took to another place that did the alignment and inspection. They told me everything was good including my tires. I can only imagine how many other people they tried to do this with to make money

Just sat for almost 2 hrs at this damn pep boys on 609 10th st. In mcallen tx. Just to have manager and cashier person tell me that they're only ac tech got called away for an emergency and that I could bring my truck back in tomorrow.! Really wow! Waste of time! Thank alot pep boys!

I had come down to get an oil change.I had already came a couple times to get it done but they were always packed and said it be while. I admit that's not their fault. So I decided to make an appointment. I got there a couple minutes before my appointment. They tell me it's going to be a bit of a wait. Me thinking okay maybe 30 minutes. I ended up waiting 1hour and 30 minutes. I actually had another appointment i needed to attend

Dropped off vehicle for wheel alignment. I picked it up about hour and half later as promised. Excellent alignment, does not veer to the right or left--done right the first time! This alignment comes with 3 month warranty. There are 2 more options available, a one year or life time warranty. Very trustworthy and has locations everywhere so the vehicle can be serviced under warranty if I'm traveling.

Went there 4/9/17 with a used truck i had purchased the day before and i needed to get an evaluation on the vehicle to see what needed to be repaired. Mark went above and beyond in helping us, he did a ton of price checking for various parts and services since we were on a budget, made great suggestions, kept in constant contact with our amazing mechanic, Crystal -who is very knowledgeable- and anything he could get us done for free he did. I was pleasantly surprised by their honesty, how fast they worked on our vehicle and how good natured they were. Overall this has been the single best experience ive ever had at a mechanic shop and look forward to going here again for all my future car needs. Love this place and the employees.
