If you like quirky, unique lodging experiences, this is a great option. Our family of 5 had plenty of room in the Goat Cottage. We loved the outdoor kitchen and fireplace (even though a fire warning prevented its usage). The best feature was the rooftop chairs and mattress for sunset and star gazing. The only "negative" is that the bathroom is located in a separate building, but it's only a few steps from the cottage. And Marathon is a great place to stay if you're headed to Big Bend NP!

Ingrid is the best, very professional and responsive. What they have done to the place so far is amazing and it is still a work in progress. So unique, I’ve never stayed in a more charming place. So peaceful at night, make sure you see sunset at top of lookout tower and take note of the fairy lights on the ground at base of tower. Thank you again Ingrid!

We stayed in the very cozy "Na Balom" house for 2. It had everything we needed - hot water, comfy bed, toiletries, and more. The decor was eclectic and had a lot of personality. Probably one of the most unique places I've ever stayed at overnight. Genevieve was a very kind and accommodating host. She helped us through check in when we arrived late at 1 am. When our car wouldn't start the morning we checked out, she was even willing to come and help us out. You're the best, Genevieve!

Had a lovely 1 night stay here before heading into Big Bend National Park. Our room had such charm and thoughtfulness to it, it was all very chic and harmonious. We were greeted upon arrival and given a full run down of the place. Wish I had a bit more time just to relax and decompress here; some great stargazing at night as well. Would very much recommend for a unique and pleasant stay in Marathon.Nearby activities: Big Bend National Park

An absolutely unique and awesome experience! The owners are wonderful and welcoming and the lodgings were so fun and beautiful! The views are one of a kind and worth every minute of travel to get there! We'll definitely be back and bringing more friends and family! Mrs. Ingrid was so sweet and friendly and just perfect! Loved our stay so much and as we were packing this morning, our daughter started to cry because she "never wants to leave here!"

Absolutely one of the BEST experiences ever!! Had a spontaneous "let's just stay on for the night" moments while in town and have no regrets!! Looking for a place to stay, we spotted this unique place and booked a room. We were absolutely charmed by the location and all of its very neat and beautiful spots located on the grounds. The room was in a beautifully built building made with eco friendly materials, stunningly decorated with tapestries and unique art pieces that give you an at home feel. We had a breathtaking view of the Countryside, an amazing Sunset and night sky from their super cool Stargazing deck, with NO light pollution!! This is definitely worth the trip!! Will be booking more trips JUST for the location alone, but there are a few wonderful shops and a beautiful garden to visit in town as well!!

I love this place!!!!This place is beyond magical! Ingrid is truly the sweetest and she makes sure you’re taken care of, like her customer service is amazing.We stayed in the stoned cottage and it was super cute, comfy and tidy! My SO and I were on a spur of the moment trip with nothing exactly planned out. We didn’t where we would stay and when searching neighboring towns (we were in big bend) I reached out to ingrid and she was so quick to respond and then was completely accommodating ❤️ We had a late check out (which was fantastic! Didn’t have to rush but still left earlier than checkout). Everything was completely awesome about this place.If you’ve never seen a million stars on a dark night, this place has one of the most beautiful views I have ever seen. We def will be staying here again ❤️

Probably one of the best stays ever! We are frequent travelers and stumbled upon this while looking for a weekend away. So amazing. The owners Ingrid and Guil were more than 5 stars as excellent hosts. Lovely conversations and beauty surrounded us with the ambiance of nature. Prettiest skies at night. That moon is bright so you will need your sunglasses 😎. Great way to refresh your mind. The house was so warm and cozy. The decor is from years they have traveled the globe. So inviting! It was great staying in the Spirit Room! Definitely the most unique place we’ve ever stayed. There was so much to look at in the museum room and it was a perfect base camp for running around the Big Bend area! The bed was so comfy and the shower was warm! Ingrid was super accommodating. We were supposed to stay at the Goat Shed but they they had to do repairs following the recent storm. Ingrid easily got us into the Spirit Room with no hassle! And she still let us have access to the star gazing area, lounge area, and kitchen at the Goat Shed.Thank you again, Ingrid!!!

Drove out to Big Bend a couple of weeks ago to camp and the weather was terrible. After battling lots of rain and an ice storm, we threw the towel in. I called last minute and got the stone cabin. It’s the most cozy, cute, and neat cabin! We played Yahtzee by the fire as we drank wine! Bed was comfortable as well.

This place was so fun and funky for our girls trip. We loved every single minute of it and wish that we had had one day longer to explore the town.We are adventurous gals so this was right up our alley.Ingrid was a wonderful hostess, so full of life. A soul sister from the moment she got out of her car.I will be back!!!Eat at Los Muertos. Fabulous food and service.The folks at the French Grocer are just as nice as can be.

I absolutely love this place. It’s unique, comfortable, peaceful, and has a great overall vibe. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything you’d need to cook (including spices)! She even had a couple drinks in the fridge for us. It’s especially beautiful at night with all the lights...there are several communal spaces, including a little cabana with a spot to cook & have drinks or relax, and an upstairs treehouse-like bar area where you can go watch the stars or have a few drinks. Place is incredible, and the prices are good. Will DEFINITELY be staying there again!!!

If you’re looking for a place to stay near big bend I would highly recommend la loma. Way more than just a place to sleep, it’s an experience. Bring your camera and take pictures of all the interesting buildings on the property. The rooms themselves are very comfortable and have A/C, heat, and hot showers. Ingrid is very friendly and extremely accommodating, if you have any questions she gets back to you promptly. Very cool place to stay and one that I won’t soon forget. Thanks for hosting me, Ingrid!

What an amazing place! My son and I stayed in the "Spirit Room" on Halloween night. The chachkies in there were perfect to set the mood. Everything was very clean and the company of hosts were outstanding. It was a perfect resting spot before heading off into Big Bend for some camping & hiking. La Loma Del Chivo! I hope to bring our whole family next time.
