Honestly I was expecting more from the reviews.. its hard to believe that this place is a 4 star restaurant. Not even close, the coffee was terrible, the potatoes had way too many peppers, the omelet was dry and the puree salsa wasn't that good. It definitely is NOT worth the prices. Only thing I actually enjoyed was the apple pie

I was sadly disappointed. I guess for being the only breakfast place within Mike's it's a gold mine but it fell short in a few areas. The wait staff wasn't from there and not very helpful. Only saw her once. The food was what was most disappointing. It was well cooked but the portions for the price were very small. Actually at any price they were small. Pancakes looked like silver dollar cakes. Even my kids left hungry. Too bad, I would have like to see them be amazing and have folks from Merit, Celeste and even Wolfe city wanting to drive there to eat.Parking: Parking around the building or in front and down the street. Not far but if you're handicap and the front spots are taken, it is a stroll down a couple of buildings or across the street. Not horrible.Wheelchair accessibility: Limited but yes.

This place is phenomenal! I would totally recommend the chicken fried chicken and eggs! Gravy was really smooth, the chicken was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, also the hash browns were flavourful, and the eggs were seasoned well. Also idk how you may like your pancakes but mine were fluffy and just amazing!Highly recommend this place because it has alot of options to choose from, especially for being a small town cafe.

Ok I really wanted it to be good this time. Haven't been to this place in a year. It was a bad experience the first time and I thought I would give them another try because they always look busy. The waitress was not what I would call enthusiastic about her job. My food came out first and then my son's a few minutes later. Did not understand why a waffle and some reheated pre cooked bacon (see picture) took longer to make and bring out than my food. Bacon in picture is on a saucer not a plate they were small. My eggs were overcooked and I got two it was suppose to be three. Biscuits were small and tasted from a can or cheap frozen. Sausage patties were weird consistency not real maybe some kind of filler in the pre-made patties I got. Nothing was good it was all just a bad ok for me. I mean seriously breakfast is one of the hardest meals to screw up but you folks did a bang up job.

We love this place. My kids are treated like royalty when we go there. The owner and chef comes out and says hi to them every time and makes them special pancakes.It has a small town atmosphere that makes you want to keep coming back.Food is always fresh and prepared when you order it.

I've been here twice now and enjoyed the food both times. This morning's red potatoes and eggs were delicious! My first visit was a late lunch (1:30 p.m.) on a Tuesday; the restaurant was mostly empty and the service was quick. The location had enough reception to tether to my phone (Verizon) and work on my laptop, but not quite enough to tether AND talk on a remote meeting. The restaurant was very busy this Sunday morning: be prepared to wait a bit for your food! The menu has a LOT of meat dishes, but there are tasty vegetarian options.

Really disappointing. We came in and got a seat and sat there for a long time. Not one person greeted us with menus or drinks. Several people (at least 10 people) came in after us. Got their drinks, their menus, AND their orders taken. It wasn’t like we were hard to see either being that 2 sets of people were seated around us. Very disappointing. We will never be back.

This was my second time here within 1 yr or so. The staff was friendly & service was great. However, the quality of the food needs work. On our visit it was clear the biscuits, chicken fried stake & chicken strips were all store bought from the freezer section. The coffee was also very watered down. I think with a little more effort in prep in order to cook some of the items on the menu from scratch would make this a go to spot for breakfast! Will definitely stop by again soon.

My wife and I love coming here for breakfast and lunch. Wait staff are very friendly and helpful. The owner is a very nice guy. Will be going here for years to come.

Got a quesadilla. Rather poor rendition. I didn't have expectations, but it was rather difficult to consume. And rather unpleasant a few hours later. I hear the town speak about it being a go to spot for breakfast.

This was a nice little find on a Sunday morning cruise. Strawberry Banana Pancakes was my choice and they did not disappoint! Girls in there know how to hustle—that is always appreciated! Nice menu with a lot of different choices—we will be back!

Great first time experience and will definitely be coming back when I’m in town! The food was very good! I had their breakfast burger and the portion was huge! Very filling and super tasty! Their cook is so friendly and you feel right at home!

Horrible! I believe the Philly cheese steak was a Steak em microwave bought from DG. I gave it a second chance and the chicken fried steak was a frozen pattie not and the meat came out of the breading shell. Never again.

I was going to meet a friend of mine up there for breakfast this morning but we have to go elsewhere as he was refused service I’m assuming because he is Hispanic and has tattoos on his face. Little do they know that man is a business owner and a good hardworking tax paying citizen. Didn’t realize his dollar wasn’t as good as everyone else’s.

The food was not fresh the Mac and cheese was boxes like Kraft the boneless fried chicken was,frozen chicken strips the Philly steak was not fresh. The omelet was dry and not from fresh eggs more like,egg beaters the pancakes tasted like frozen ones. Not impressive at all. The server was friendly but definitely will not be a 2nd visit.

Had a good time when we went. Place still looks "empty" (decor not patrons) food was hot & tasty! (What more could you ask fore?) Staff was polite and quick. We're definitely going back!

This place was just okay. The food didn't wow us and my coffee was ice cold. I had to wait doe them to make fresh coffee which came out after we got our food so I sat there a while without a drink. The order came out correctly and the service was good. This isnt a place I would ever find myself saying "I wish Leonard Family Restaurant was open at this hour" or "I'm craving Leonard Family Restaurant ". I would rather spend the extra 20 minutes and drive into McKinney. I did give them 3 stars because the server was funny, the cook came out to say hi and the owner was friendly. Their plates were not very big.

Great food! Didn’t know what exactly I wanted so I got a little bit of everything and nothing disappointed! Friendly staff and definitely get the family vibe here. Will be coming back!
