The best burger in southeast Texas by a long shot. It's so good that I have friends driving from Dallas and San Antonio to get them periodically. Easy 5 stars, absolutely worth going out of your way to eat one.

Wonderful small town general store and grill. If you are in the area, this is a must visit location for one of their world famous delicious hamburgers. The food was great, made to order with fresh ingredients, tasted delicious and had generous portions. This is absolutely a Texas treasure you won’t want to miss out on.

After many lunches bought here today will be my last. Ordered to-go, she said ready in 20 min. Perfect because I'm 15 minutes away. Well 45 minutes later I finally get my food. That happens right? Of course, but being rude a generally impolite to customers is not acceptable. They started my order when they realized I was there to pick it up. Not according to when my order was placed. I suggested advising the older lady to be more nice. Maybe a "thank you " or even "have a good day" would change the way customers viewed her attitude. Customers are a lot more understanding when you acknowledge the fact that you are causing them a delay.

Read the reviews so we decided to try it. What a waste of time. We will never go back. As a general store it barely had anything in it. And I don’t know who said the cheese burgers were the best. But you need to get out more. Don’t waste your time going there. Also we don’t drink sodas or tea. We had to get our water out of the tap. Fries were good and that is why we gave one star.

Our youngest son had told us about the burgers at the Honey Island General Store. We went by and bought one with fries. The cheeseburger that my husband and I shared was very good but I was impressed with the fries, they were real, not pre-frozen.

Had to venture out to the piney woods and heard this was a good burger spot from a coworker. They were wrong....it’s a GREAT burger spot! Very nice people too. Has tables in the store to eat. Definitely worth a stop if you’re in the area or not even close.

Thank you honey Island General for giving me some great memerys of my late husband fed. Judge Forrest Stewart and I of fun conversation and awesome tasting hamburgers. My husband loved those hamburgers. No matter how tired he would get if we were going to be driving by your store he would want to stop and get your burger. Thank you again for being so nice to us. They make five star cheeseburgers here. Fresh off the grill and made to perfection I can't think of a place in Hardin county with a better burger and that's saying something.
