Title: Disappointing Service During Peak HoursI visited Brookshire's in Kilgore during peak hours, and the experience was far from satisfactory. Despite the long lines at least 5 people deep, only two registers were open. To make matters worse, the milk on the shelves was expired, indicating a lack of attention to product quality.The most disheartening aspect was the apparent disinterest of the store manager, who was observed loitering near the orange juice section instead of assisting customers or ensuring efficient operations. Additionally, the self-checkout lanes were poorly managed, with staff members engaged in personal conversations rather than attending to customers.

Initially I gave 4 stars only because this store- although a really good store- had nothing "above and beyond." Then the review response from the store encouraged me to look harder, and I'm so glad I did! It's their deli section! Everything I've tried has been very good, but their fried catfish filets are the amazing specialty that earns the fifth star! I'm a big Catfish King fan but this store's fish is better than the Kings! If you haven't tried it, you're missing out!

Very clean. Pick up delivery was ready early, delivered promptly by a friendly employee. Great fresh meat case! Deli employees can be slow to help. Good produce dept. for medium size store. Slightly higher than some large chain stores but worth it compared to its in a 15 mile radius!

I only got fuel here. They always have the lowest prices. They have a large gas station that is easy to navigate. It is always busy, but you don't have to worry about getting around safely. The pumps are always clean and card safe. The station is always clean. You can buy snacks and drinks there too. I've never gotten bad gas from there, and because of the prices, I only get my gas from Brookshire's.

Place is nice, organized, and clean. The staff there is very very friendly and accommodating. I would make this my staple place to get groceries but the price of everything is a pretty significant amount more than other places.

The store is always clean and employees are friendly and well trained in all departments. It's nice to go in and people speak to you. Produce is always fresh as well as meat market. Love the quick and efficient service at the deli counter.

Even when very busy, Brookshire's is always easy to shop. It's a clean and neatly merchandised operation and always has lots of check stations open, so when in a hurry (always), one can make a quick exit.

Went in to get groceries and spent almost $400 bucks and then I go to money services to get some change and was told they couldn’t change out a $100 bill. They put the new girl in money services,she didn’t have a clue what was going on and said sorry about 30 times so I just said never mind I’m never going back EVER!!! Never Been Treated like that Ever at money services!!! Call the store to express myself and was Hung up on by the Mgr🤦

Too bad I can't give 0 stars. Management here is bad. I know everyone had their off days but this place continues to go downhill. Time after time the employees in this location run what was a good Brookshires into the ground. It's not the place, it's the management. Do yourself a favor and keep driving. I'd go to Overton before I stop here again.

This is MY Brookshire's! It is always clean, orderly, the staff is SO kind and professional. The bakery, and food preparation locations are always clean, and sell yummy foods!

Kilgore Store is the Absolute Best ! Always clean, organized & well stocked with a large variety of choices & brands. All the store employees and especially those @ the meat / deli counter are always friendly & ready to help their customers. When I order online for pick up this location is my favorite . Their store representative shoppers always communicate well when filling my order regarding out of stock items and substitutions . I have never been disappointed when picking up my curb side order. KILGORE BROOKSHIRES STAFF & SERVICE is definitely 5 STAR across the board !

Nicest Brookshires I have ever been to! Extremely nice selection on cheese, fresh ready to bake meals, sushi, seafood, wine, salads & much more. I was very impressed. They also had top notch customer service! Every single employee that I came into contact with was extremely nice & helpful. Also, I really loved their buggies. Nice touch!

We were the last shoppers in the store and first time ever we got everything we needed without feeling pressure from staff telling us the time is near closing. The staff was very kind and very quick checkout also help save $25.00 at checkout. Store is very clean good job!

The younger employees seem to be all that work at night and weekends. I understand these are school kids and that's the only time they can work. From what I see they have very little supervision during these times and there is a lot of playing around, rude behavior and a just an "I don't care" attitude. This is why I shop during the week before 4pm.

Update on this store 5/12/23:: I tried to call the store and they picked the phone up and hung it up today. Called back same thing. So I called the Gladewater store. They answered right away and transferred to me to the deli. We went into the Gladewater store. Oh what a difference. The employees are so much nicer and cooked more fish because they only had 2 pieces left. Kilgore store needs to take lessons from the Gladewater store...JSThis happened at the Kilgore Deli:: Everything was good besides the elderly lady that was working at the deli. We was trying to get fried catfish. She was very rude. Didn't know what was on sale or how much things was and when we asked the prices she was very rude. If she doesn't want to answer people's questions then she doesn't need to work in the public. Told my husband that he was making her mad by asking questions. After we got what we wanted, my husband told her to have a blessed evening. Even though she was very rude. Need to check your employee's attitude

The lady that works in the meat department was very helpful. The cashier lady was very friendly and the elderly gentleman was going to take our groceries out when I politely refused because it was storming. I didn't want him to get wet. Another man can to help and again we refused. We were going to get wet anyway, no since in them getting wet also. But, they really wanted to help us. That makes a huge difference. Way to go guys!

Not great. The girl that checked me out couldn't help me with the specials price and she couldn't take a certain amount from my cash app card. I'd say not trained very well but also was not interested in seeing if she could get someone else to help.

Was in the store dec 11. Saw some people bring in a huge dog on a leash. Dog was pulling at leash running everywhere. Definitely NOT a service dog. Dogs do not belong in A grocery store. The FDA prohibits animals in places that sell food as it is unsanitary. I will report to the FDA if i continue to see this. No one needs to bring animals in a store unless its a service dog. This clearly was not a service dog!.

This store is excellent. It is always clean and organized. The restrooms are clean. The service is amazing. You don't have to deal with a checkout robot, bagging your groceries, or the anxiety. The deli and pharmacy are great. Fancier fare is available with a great cheese and wine selection. Brookshires also carries local Texan brands at a price that rivals lower quality products, so it's an easy choice. The produce is of excellent quality and we'll maintained. You may feel like the items are pricier, but in most cases it's because the "other guys" sell huge family packages of everything and don't even carry the regular size offerings. If you do spend a little more on the same item here, you won't mind because the experience and service are worth every penny. Save your sanity and stick with quality and service.

Nice experience. Ladies in the deli were so nice and helpful. Very friendly atmosphere and clean, well stock, store.. Checkers were so friendly. She asked me if I was registered with them for shopping points. Had a really nice experience. They are champions to senior citizens.
