I was forced to find a new vet clinic when the vet I had used for over 20 years retired and sold his practice. Story rd animal hospital came highly recommended by a close friend and I have been taking my pets here for a handful of years now. The vets themselves have been great, I have no complaints on them but I often wonder if the vets are aware of the frustration clients have to go through just to actually speak to anyone or get a response to either the app or phone. I dread each time I have to schedule anything because I feel as though the ones managing the phones and app don’t want to be bothered. I hate to have to put my pets through another change and to find a new vet but it seems that is what I may need to do.

Was extremely pleased with the service and pricing. Staff was very friendly and seemed engaged with the care of our animal. We had a sick cat and came in at the last hour of the day and they went above and beyond to accommodate us. Dr Samuels, thank you for care and staying with Fiona. You, guys have earned a new family.

I have only had 1 experience with Story Road Animal Hospital. I had to bring in a stray kitty that had been living in my garage that somehow was subject to some major trauma. They were able to get him in immediately and were very caring and attentive to him. Unfortunately it did not turn out the best for him but the staff was wonderful with his care.

Very good vet (Dr Diann Smith)Right off Story Rd, perfect for Irving ResidentsPlenty of parking— Easy to call and make appointment, even for new patients— When you arrive for your appointment, call them and tell them you’re there and they’ll come to get you and your pup shortly— If you end up needing any meds for your pet, they give them to you there before you leave!— Around $50 per visit which isn’t too bad

The staff, the doctors and everyone here are so sweet and accommodating! They care and love our pets! All of our babies also get groomed here too! Highly recommend 👌 👍

This place is amazing my husband has been taking our doggy Otis since he was a pup and now we taking our new pup there I just love all the doctors there! They are kind and clean they care about the animals. It’s been around for a long time for a reason bc they are clean and they care and they are just plain amazing!! If you are in the Irving area or even Dallas or literally anywhere In the Dallas metroplex. This is the place to go especially if you love your animals as much as I love My cat and dogs. Haha But for real this place is amazing and I recommend it to anybody and everybody. I’m very picky with how clean the doctors offices are and I’m very thankful with how much this place cares for animals . This place Is amazing!

Why does Story Road Animal Hospital gouge your cutomers when their pet(s) needs a prescription? Is it because you know pet owners are vulnerable and you can take advantage of them when their pet(s) issick?Here is an example: My dog was diagnosed with cancer today and needs pain medication.Story Road Animal Hospital charged me $37.00 for 7 pain pills.Costco, for the exact same medication charged me $35.00 for 21 pain pills.This isn't the first time I have paid over 3 times as much for medications for.my pets at Story Road Animal Hospital. I understand you may not be able to match Costco, Chewy or other retail pharmacies, but your prices are unreasonable.

I cannot say enough about how great theStory Road Animal HospitalTreating my 3 years old Mini Aussie , they are not only good at their medical care treatment but the grooming Salon as willAmalia Thumbing took good Car of my dog he got a spa day got his nails trimmed and his hair washed and cut and he got Flea treatment and his shot is up to date now amazing staff . If u go to the griming Salon ask for Amelia .she is the best .after , I took my dog to Pet Smart they called me back to come pick him upI took him to Petco they called me to go pick him up both places was unable to do the job, Thank you Amalia ur the best 😊

I cannot put into words the kindness, warmth, and true concern this amazing staff has provided our family. We wish we had found them sooner but regardless they genuinely cared for our beloved Roarie and saw us all through an extremely traumatic experience. Update: Overpriced and the receptionist, Melissa I think, is very rude and not helpful at all. Won't go here again because of her.They are amazing here!! 10 out of 10 would definitely recommend bringing your pets here! The staff was so kind and caring towards my baby and Dr. Glenn was great! She was very thorough on his check up and answered every question or concern that we had.

Dr. Andrea Yakel, Nayalee, Dana and everyone involved showed a great deal of skill and compassion when I had to have my "fur baby" euthanized on March 9th. I had been going here for many years with multiple dogs and I highly recommend using Story Road Animal Hospital for everything pet-related.

There are 2 types of people in this world, the kind that should work with animals and the kind that shouldn’t. The Male vet probably shouldn’t. No hate, not for everyone. But he just does not know how to work with scared dogs.I was a vet tech for 2 years & watched vets work with SCARED/ timid/ aggressive/ defensive dogs and be able to build trust with the dog.This dude only freaked my dog out more. I have trained rescue dogs and dealt with working through their trauma for years. I got my newest baby 3 months ago, so he’s a work in progress, he’s young, scared, and defensive (tbh can’t blame him for how the vet acted). And instead of approaching the situation with ease little man in the back took one look at my dog and was scared of my dog right off the bat (he’s a pit) #unprofessional, not to mention every “idea” he had to calm my dog down was the exact opposite of what needed to be done.-Took my dog out of the room I was in (really?? Hes a rescue of 3 months… THATS your solution?)-put a muzzle on him (wouldn’t of been a problem if it wasn’t too big for him, don’t y’all know they only work if they fit??)- touched him for all of 2 seconds and decided he wasn’t going to see him without sedatives (crazy how my dog doesn’t like to be touched my strangers that don’t at least make a proper introduction ).Call me a Karen but my family takes their dogs there too & they have the exact same complaint. You’re the problem, not the dog. Period. Most mid vet experience of my life.Honorable mentions- there was 2 vet techs that were male that were pretty good with my dogs (tall dude and dude with long hair) appreciate you🤝.- the other dog of mine you saw today and was so sweet and well behaved was trained by me ( only me) & she was worse than he was when I got her. So instead of telling me my dog needs to see a behavioral specialist/ get professional training how about you work study up on how to deal with all behavior types and you’d be great 👍- DOGS ARENT THE PROBLEM how you handle them is.

This place was highly recommended by a close friend. However, when I called to inquire about services and explained what I needed for my pet, the woman who answered the phone all but told me to let my dog die. They lost a potential customer and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone who wants to fight for their fur baby's QOL.

We took Goldie to VitalPet - Story Road Animal Hospital as he was sick. Dr. Jean Park and Nurse were very courteous and checked Goldie thoroughly and gave him two shots. Goldie is doing well now. Thanks.

Not the same as it use to be, we were clients for numerous years. The staff is rude over the phone and just doesn't seem the same. Will not return, would much rather go to Euless or Buena Vista.

The I arrived to the appointment 15 minutes early to be considerate, and then I wasn’t seen until 45 minutes after my scheduled appointment time.20 minutes after I was supposed to be seen I asked if they had an approximate time that I would get my little kitten (who was terrified) seen by the vet and the lady just laughed and said, “Have you ever been the the doctor’s? You don’t get seen for a while after your appointment.”Not only was this a super tacky and unprofessional, but this is a horrible outlook. Representing the medical world, late and unprofessional should not be your goal—and should not be industry standard. It’s your standard, which is pathetic and you should honestly be ashamed and embarrassed.On a positive note: the vet and assistant were helpful and decent.

I took my little girl cat to get spayed here, they did a great job and were wonderful. They called to check in on her and the medicine they gave her for pain was easy for her to take and she ate it like treats. It's been 11 days since the surgery and my baby is playing already and very happy and active. The price was also fair and they were very knowledgeable and careful with her. They were so professional! I don't just trust anyone with my baby, they didn't try to cheat me or anything. Very good people. So relieved my baby is doing awesome and spayed now.Update: I took a second kitty for spaying, they did great. Love them. Very trustworthy.

My pup is VERY particular and fearful of vets, but they figured out what works for him efficiently and he did well with them! I felt instantly comfortable with the team and they are so encouraging (to me, as I’m a work in progress pet parent, trying to improve within my means). I think a great vet creates a calm and positive environment for both the pet and the parent, which they do!

Very caring and the best. When I can't get my vet, I get another friendly and really good one (friendly and nice only go so far - I want a good vet). I love them all and I love the vet techs who are so caring and friendly too. They all talk to my animals like I do and they treat them well.MY dog, by the way, is a retired hearing ear dog. Believe me, those of us with service animals don't trust just anyone. We only trust the best of the best, and these folks are it.I've also taken my step children's pets to them (we ended up with them). I wouldn't have it any other way. I stuck with one vet for over 30 years and decided to change due to the appointments I could get. Unfortunately, driving back 20 miles on I-30 at 5 in the afternoon didn't please me. So I went closer to home. I did not expect to find such caring and smart people, and decided I could use them for shots and emergencies only, but I really liked them, so I have stayed with them.

Kind and compassionate staff. Social distancing and masks eliminated for now. Physician and staff are efficient while implementing exams and giving injections. Very gentle and sympathetic with my puppy's. I feel confident in both the staff and the doctor. Both puppies liked the staff and we will return for our pet care!

We've had a really good experience so far. Everyone has been polite and helpful. Dr Peterson is very thorough and considerate when it comes to budget restraints when possible. The grooming staff and experience was good here to and very reasonably priced. Overall, we really like them.

Difficult to rate their care because we never received any.My dog was going into cardiac arrest and Google showed that the veterinary closer and open at the time was SRAH.As we pulled up, Claire was arriving as well and already had the worst attitude towards me as I got out of my car and was explaining to her what was happening.Even though it was already 5 minutes past the hour where they state on their own website that they are open, she didn't care and was completely hostile and nonchalant, as though she was doing me the favor to put up with me, and just said they weren't open and wouldn't open for another hour, so, to basically take my dog somewhere else.Maybe set the proper hours on your website so you don't make people waste precious time.Special thanks to claire, for making a horrible moment even worse.You're definitely in the wrong line of work as you don't care about animals and lack the tact to deal with people with basic professionalism, must less in a human way.

I paid for meds and after a very hard appointment the staff forgot to give it to me. I gave them the opportunity to make it right but the front desk staff were unable to see the need to assist.
