WORST SHOPPING EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE!!! I HAD TO EDIT THIS REVIEW. This was my 2nd and LAST visit to this merchant.I WAS TREATED LIKE A COMMON CRIMINAL JUST NOW. I WAS DISCRIMINATED AGAINST BECAUSE I AM HANDICAPPED. I have one leg. MY FIRST EXPERIENCE WAS NOT GOOD HERE, but everyone has a bad day, so I thought it good to give them another chance. I had my Registered Service Animal with me. I was perusing the items and had already picked out 5 or 6 items. Mylo, my service animal signalled that he needed some water. I had asked a female employee there get me a bottle of water. (Btw i was forced to speak in sphanish because she knew absolutely no english). I speak spanish all the tune if necesaary and thought nothing if it at the time.) I gave him a small amount from my hand and he was signalling, then that he needed to go to the bathroom. I had spoken to the lady before if it would be okay if I left the cart while i took him out. She said ok, So I gathered my jacket and my dog. And we were leaving the front door of the store. as I was halfway out the door I was physically stopped by a man who said . No, you have to pay first for the water. That's your dog drink. That I was stealing. I told him I was going to be right back but that's fine here. I gave him a dollar for the water. So I could take my dog to the restroom. He continued on saying that I was. I had left and didn't say anything to anybody. And it was the same as stealing. He did this even after. I gave him the money in the cart in the store. By the way there was just a tiny bit bit my dog had drank. He is under five pounds. He was so heated about it and accusing me of stealing that I told him well. I'm no longer going to purchase things here that he made a big mistake. I have $200 in my pocket right now. And I was willing to spend a bunch of it on things within this store. Because I have a few needs that I really need to take care of. But I would rather go without now than ever step foot in that door. the last time I was here, I was treated weird and I didn't want to assume that I thought it was because I have my service animal. I am handicapped and i'm sitting in a Walker as I await the arrival of my mobility scooter which should be here but was delayed for shipping reasons. He just assumed tdad I was a thief becaus I was different. The first time this happened with the way they treated. Me but I was here at the first time. I shouldn't realized but I wanted to give them another chance. The story is full of foreigners who barely speak English. The lady I was talking to I had to speak Spanish too. But they want to disterminate againstwhen I'm trying to buy articles. And it's hard for me to get to the store. I don't have a car and I don't have people around me with a vehicle. And I came far on the bus to come t This Store. BELIEVE ME I WILL NEVER STEP FOOT IN THERE AGAIN. I EVEN HAD A PERSONAL TRAVEL CONTAINER WITH HIS DOG FOOD IN IT. HE CAME OUT AFTER I WAS ACROSS THE STREET. HE YELLED SOMETHING AND DRAMATICALLYPUT IT IN THE TRASH. Now, that was stealing. I am.so mad and hurt that i am doing all i can to not cry out here in public. I AM GOING TO CHARGE THIS STORE WITH DISCRIMINATIIN CHARGES. HOW MANY OTHER PEOPLE HAVE BEEN DISCRIMINATED AGAINST HERE? This is Denver Harbor/5th Ward. I am a 58 year old caucasian woman and been here about 6 months. I have bever felt threatened, even at night traveling alone coming home on the bus. Everyone in the neighnorhood has been so kind and helpful to me. I feel accepted and looked out for here even. UNTIL NOW. IN THE 8 YEARS since i lost my leg, i have not been discriminated against nor treated so rudely and unjust. Never once was a door opened, or was asked if i needed help. I WILL NO LONGER GIVE MY HARD EARNED MONEY TO THIS STORE. I am totally disgusted with these vile, hateful people. This store's old name was Value Dollar #1. They had 126 reviews with a 4.3 rating. It's one of the largest and best dollar stores in Houston. They have an excellent selection of merchandise.I really like the new LED lighting that was installed in the store. It really brightens up the sales floor. The store is neat and clean. All products are front faced on the shelves and easy to identify. I visit this store on regular basis and save a lot of money.I would give this store a five 🌟 rating, but the line to check out is frequently long. They need to call a backup cashier when this happens.

A treasure trove of useful items. I bought a bluetooth speaker for just $11 and am still shocked at how this small speaker booms. The cashier was very friendly too!

I don't stay far from this place so I usually go here about 5 times s week. Majority of the items in here is 1.79 and worth it. This dollar store is huge and they have things you have been looking for and couldn't find other places. They recently added a spot in the store that sells vape supplies, cigarettes, cigars, and different CBD items. Each aisle in this store is packed with that you need. They have items that you didn't know you needed until you walk all aisles and see the items they sell. Even though I go so much I still walk every aisle when I go because they add new items almost daily. Some of the staff only speak Spanish but they will guide you to someone that speaks English if you don't speak Español. They recently put out Christmas decorations that I have not seen anywhere else. Shop this store and you will be glad you did. I know I be glad every week when I go.

Said it before. This is one of the cleanest and most organized dollar plus stores i've ever been to. All the labels are turned out. Almost everything has the price ( if over I think 1.39). They always have at least two cashiers up front and new merchandise to sell. Parking is tight, one way in, one way out but over all a 95 out of 100 experience.

This business keeps hiking up the prices. It really shouldn't be called value dollar anymore. The starting price on mostly every item in the store has gone from $1.00 which was 2-3 years ago, to almost $2.00. You would be better off going to get the same items from family dollar, dollar general, or dollar tree.

I hate when people say "not everything is a dollar." What dollar store is? At least in Houston, anyway. This is the most organized, stocked dollar store I've seen in a while. This is pretty much everything you need from a dollar store at this location! A+ 100. keep it up because I'll keep coming back for sure. BUT let's talk about that parking situation- they need some help in that area. It's VERY limited and quite frankly, it's annoying to keep circling around until someone finally leaves. I'll still shop here, nonetheless.

I shop here often. The only thing you will find over a $1.25 is the 2-liter soda. I love this store because I can find just about anything I need. I even buy my more expensive hair care products here. I don't go to Walmart and pay full price anymore. I go value dollar.
