I 100% recommend this place. I have been keeping my fur babies here for a while now due to home remodeling going on and I will say I can sleep at night knowing my kitties are safe and well taken care of. John and Nicole are amazing. They have taken care of them day in and day out. They get playtime in a room with a cat patio to allow them to see outside. I have also got zoomie groomed before and they gave him a beautiful lion cut! I picked this place because compared to the other facilities in town this one felt more personal. They’re in a house type environment and allows them to feel less stress in my opinion. I didn’t want a place that felt cold and lonely like a lot of these places. Please consider taking your kitty here!

I highly recommend Fat Cat Flats cat grooming. It is hard to find a cat groomer, and I feel so fortunate to have found Fat Cat Flats. They were Fairy Godmother to my Cinderella cat. My poor kitty just wasn't taking care of herself and needed a lion cut. Amazing results! She's so soft, so clean. I feel so relieved after her spa day with Fat Cat Flats.

It was my first time taking my cat to this groomer and they did a fantastic job! I was nervous about dropping her off since I knew my cat had some matted fur and knowing she can get feisty, but they said my cat did just fine. Kind people. Will be back again! Thank you.

My cat developed an upper respiratory infection during his stay here. I am upset by the lack of acknowledgement and communication of this facility. By the time I took my cat to the vet he had already lost two pounds. Not a single word from anyone regarding his condition. A week later and he is still extremely ill. I understand things like this can happen but my biggest concern is that they completely ignored the situation entirely and did not contact me.

Just coming up on this place It just looks like a kitty paradise, including the romantic uncapped Victorian garden that kitties love to run around and inside it was just an age old shrine to all things cat, that started my kitty heart 😻 purring. We were welcomed and all the right questions were asked and kitt y was treated very well she was not traumatized when she was picked up always good We got the lion cut no treatment on the nails she looked beautiful smelled beautiful and it was affordable This place gets a double thumbs up.

This place is great! Very responsive, I heard back same day both times I called. The sign outside is a little faded but the shop is cute and full of cute cat stuff. My Persian came out looking adorable with a tummy shave and fanny trim. She smells amazing and, unlike other with other groomers, she has no razor burn. Will be coming back!

Fat Cat Flats is the only place in Houston where I know my cat will get an amazing haircut - every single time. Everyone there is genuinely nice and friendly and my cat actually loves going there.5/5 - would definitely recommend to anyone who needs a cat groomer!

I have worked in the animal field as a veterinary technician for 10 years which gave me the opportunity to take my Maine Coon cat named Max into work with me to get sedated for examinations, update services, and get a groom regularly. He is a very unhappy kitty when he leaves the house and extra feisty when he is exposed to a new unfamiliar environment. Since I do not work in the animal field anymore, it has become an issue to find a cat groomer outside of a veterinary clinic which is very expensive. It is also hard to find places that offer sedation & grooming as a service. Max was extremely overdue for his hair cut so I began to do some research for cat groomers and I stumbled across the Fat Cat Flats website. I saw multiple reviews left from clients who also had troubled kitties who needed sedation to be groomed previously and had awesome results. I called for details and gave the gentlemen over the phone a heads up on Max's behavior. He gave me the option to schedule him on a quiet day to prevent Max from becoming highly stressed; which happened to be the following day. At drop off the gentlemen made a temperament assessment and got all the details on how I wanted Max to be groomed. Within a few hours I received a phone that he was ready to be picked up. I was shocked! The groomer did such an amazing job with help of another staff member. They could not perform the bath that was included in the lion cut package, so they adjusted the price accordingly. I was actually surprised that he was able to be groomed at all due to the fact that I know he can be a hand full! I was very pleased with the groomer and her abilities. The facility is quaint and warm-welcoming. The staff was personable and handle these Kitties with care. They are truly "cat whisperers"! I am extremely impressed by my experience and I will be a returning client. I highly recommend this place for any cat groom. If you have a troubled kitty, you should definitely give them a try. This is the perfect place to get a cat lover a gift. The front room is packed full of kitty toys, beds, and household knick knacks of nothing, but cats! Also if you know of a family or person who is looking for a friendly feline, they have some kiddos who are in need of a fur-ever home!

I am only writing this review after seeing that others had the same experience at Fat Cat Flats - and recently, at that. I try not to badmouth any small business and working with animals is difficult but it seems like the egregious problems I saw back then are still happening.I went to FCF several years ago to get my two long hair cats groomed - my calico (Melba) a lion cut and my brown tabby (Hubcap) a tummy shave and bathroom area clean up. The back room was small and it reeked of urine, feces, and stressed out animals. (I work in rescue - the smell of stressed out animals is unmistakable.)All the stress smells in the room already had my two girls on edge. The groomer brusquely put my brown tabby on the floor in her carrier, two feet away from and facing a carrier with an EXTREMELY stressed out cat that was hissing and swatting. There was no room for them in the wall kennels, she explained. I filled out the forms, already thinking I should just take my cats and leave, but I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt. (Plus, my calico really needed the cut - she is unable to groom herself well due to dental issues and gets horrible mats in her fur.)As the groomer reviewed the forms, she continuously confused my cats. She kept saying that she would give Hubcap the lion cut and I corrected her several times, finally just trying to refer to them by their markings since they were so different. By this point Hubcap was growling in her kennel on the floor due to being harassed by the cat across from her.I reluctantly left my cats with FCF honestly just hoping to pick them up without any injuries - which, reading the reviews now I realize I am lucky that they weren't injured!In the end, Melba did get her lion cut, and it was fine. Hubcap, however, was unable to be groomed because of how stressed out she had gotten.When I went to pay, they asked me to tip the groomer in cash and indicated that the owner was outright slow and potentially shady about credit card tips getting to employees.Truly, I was willing to chalk all of this up to a bad day at FCF, but checking back to see if I might try them again and seeing the recent reviews? Oh dear. Won't be bringing my kids here.

We recently have added a new member to our family, an adorable kitten named Abby. Since we didn't want to remove her front claws, we needed to have soft claws nail caps applied. She went in and had a nice bath and came out wearing the very cute purple claws. They treated her very well. We will definitely be going back.

Boarded our cat, Suki, here for a week and it was amazing! She was very well taken care of, they kept to her usual feeding schedule and even gave her treats! They didn't flinch at the bag of toys and blankets we packed for her, and when we called to check in on her they were happy to give us a full report. And they have the most adorable store! Highly recommend, it was such a relief to know our sweet kitty was being so spoiled!

We brought 2 of our cats for the 1st time this past week. One is a maine coon and is impossible for us to bathe her bcuz she HATES water. But this place worked a miracle and actually gave her a bath. Nicole did a great job grooming my cat. Her coat is so soft and smooth and she was clipped exactly how I described. A beautiful job.When I brought my cat in, she had escaped her carrier and hidden under my car seat. I called into the shop and John came to the rescue. Such kind people and my cat seemed so relaxed around them. Definitely using them again!

I visited the boarding area of Fat Cat Flats to check it out. There were about a half dozen cats in cages. The air conditioning was very cold and each cage had a thin white towel for the cats to lie on. The majority looked depressed and lethargic. The nice man who works there looked overworked and said his helper had not arrived that day. A pair of cats had been there for 10 MONTHS!!! That is just cruel. I decided that I would not choose this boarding facility.

ONLY GROOMER I TRUST! She is amazing with my cat. I’ve taken my baby to two other groomers, one of them said my cat was “too fiesty” and the other cut her fur terribly. Every time I come to fat cat flats I trust that they will do a good job and treat my baby with love and care. She knows exactly how to handle fiesty cats and is not afraid to work with cats who really don’t like visits to the groomer. I will ALWAYS come here!

My cat has long hair and he’s sort of a pain in the butt when it comes to the vet or grooming. Before he got groomed he was shedding like crazy so I took him here, when I picked him up he looked sooooo cute!!!! And let me just say the deshed him so well bc I no longer see cat hair everywhere :)

Fat Cat Flats killed my baby and broke my heart…I slowly petted the thing that meant the most to me as she struggled to survive. She didn’t want to give up. I know she didn’t want to leave me, but the damage was too great. She was older now and just didn’t have the strength to continue. Through tears I told her it was ok and that I loved her more than anything in this world.1 minute later at 1:05 am on July 2nd she took a last deep breath and died…and so did I in some way. Her name was Hope and that’s what she gave me…Hope.She chose me in July of 2013. I thought I was saving her, but she was saving me. She was the only thing that has ever truly loved me; that accepted me with all my faults, all my damage, all the baggage. She was the only thing there for me when I was going through some very dark times. Without her I wouldn’t have made it. She meant everything to me. And I told this to the guy at Fat Cat Flats.I told him that she had diabetes and has had it for a couple years now but it’s under control. I provided the insulin and needles. He said it wouldn’t be an issue and that he could give her the shots as directed.When I dropped her off, I told him that I would do anything for her, that I had no family, nothing else but her. I told him that I was traveling and wouldn’t be available, so if anything at all happened, take her to the vet. I said I didn’t care about the cost. I only care about her. I told her she gets pretty bad separation anxiety and may not eat, so give her a variety of wet and dry food, but again if anything happens take her to the vet.He ignored my direction. She stopped eating and he decided, WITHOUT CONSULTING A VET, that he would stop giving her, her insulin shots. He did this for almost 3 days before he took her to the vet! She fought for several days. The vet did their best to keep her alive, but they said the damage was too great. The vet told me that Fat Cat Flats not giving her insulin directly led to her death.I told him what the vet said and that the bills cost close to $15k (in the end it was just over $10k). I said that I wanted to talk with the owners. He said he had all my contact info and would let them know. A few days later and no contact. I called him again and said I wanted to talk with the owners…same response and same outcome. I called for a third time and again no contact. To this date they still won’t contact me.If you love your cat DO NOT TAKE your cat here.
