Adopted my fur baby on Valentine’s Day. I was so lucky to find her and the staff was helpful with adoption and her history. It took her a bit to fully roam the house but she’s settled in and so spoiled. When I met her she had just had her amputation so it took even longer to adjust poor thing is such a sweet strong loving girl. I wanted to make sure to leave a review and show the girls that she’s in great hands and so spoiled ! I’m so thankful for y’all

This place was really small and actually disappointing. I feel really bad for the fur babies here, went to see the dogs and they had big dogs in small cages. Loud barking because the cages were so close together. They could at least use something to cover the sides so the dogs don’t bark at eachother because this makes the environment scary and concerning for future adoptions to happen. Over all the animals seemed really scared and wish they had a better facility. I don’t know how this place is open but they should be shut down unless they organize themselves better.

They were on lunch, but luckily a very kind lady (who usually works around dogs) helped my fiancé and i adopt the kitten that we saw online! the staff was very friendly and helpful in every way.there's not a thing that wasn't perfect in that moment. (Adopted kitten: Jingle)

Stealing cats from the general public is wrong. Give that woman her cat back and answer the phones. Don’t gaslight the public saying they’re calling the wrong number. I’ve seen multiple other claims with y’all waiting until closing and ignoring phone calls. Cruel. Disgusting place. Calling their self a non profit but demanding fees when the owner goes to retrieve their animal. They did not ask y’all to board their animal.

I'm so grateful they helped me do right by a wonderful homeless cat I brought in. I would have loved to keep him myself if I was capable, but I was staying in a hotel. They don't normally do things like that but made an exception just for him. They also wouldn't take any money but did agree to let me buy some things for them on Amazon. I had the pleasure of checking on him, where the volunteers told me he is thriving and their other cats can't wait to see him once he's out of separation. Meet Legolas. He will make an amazing cuddle buddy for anyone in the market for a sweet boy!

Operator super rude and condescending if you actually need to contact them call 311 since they don’t exist to the non emergency service found a puppy while delivering packages and thought I would just make sure it didn’t die took too long for them to send someone out hope the puppy is ok and that woman gets help cause she doesn’t seem to like animals working for animal services.

I love this place..it's like a five star hotel for dogs. And me. The bathrooms are amazing and I love the service. Dogs are always super friendly when I come in and greet me with a smile. And it's always good smelling and clean (because of me) Please give this place a chance and come adopt a doggie. 🤓🤓🤓🤓

We adopted a cat from here about 5 months ago. Was a great experience for our kids, the cats all looked well cared for. We love our cat and plan to adopt another soon, we will surely be checking here first.****EDIT****We adopted a 4 month old kitty last week as a companion for our first adopted cat. Once again, the ladies at South Houston were wonderful and patient with us as we monitored our kids playing with the several of the kittens. They talked with us and helped us make a decision on which kitty would do best with our other cat. They remembered our first adoption and asked about how he was doing. While this place doesn't look like a standard shelter, the heart the volunteers put into caring for the animals is beyond what we've ever seen in any other shelter (and we've visited several in Houston). Check them out!!!

Went to the shelter to adopt a kitty named Sweetness. We waited in the cold for 7 minutes until finally someone came out, granted the shelter is really loud. The manager was not there and neither was the assistant. I did speak with a very nice lady that let us play with her and we were going to go back for her (after lunch) and we went back at around 2pm and we stood out in the freezing cold waiting for someone to open the door for 5 minutes. Since I have small children I decided to leave. Dissapointed as we really wanted to take sweetness home with us. As far as the shelter, from what I saw, the animals seem to be seperated from the ones that are sick, which is good. The shelter had just been cleaned so it was not dirty by any means. I wish I could give it more stars but I gave it 3 because the lady was super nice (wish I remembered her name) and the animals seem comfortable

The Staff really care about the animals. Treat all like they are there own pet. They do not put the animals down like alot of other City Run Shelters. They have lots of sweet Doggys and Kittys that need a Good Home. I volunteer here regularly. The current Staff have been here for a few Years now. The old staff no longer works here. Alot of changes are going on. New and Better things.

I'm an old man so I was thinking about adopting a pet but they were knee high for me living in a one room apt. But I did see some fine animals I like if I had a house I would of taking one home. I'll try again to find a smaller dog. Jesus is Lord!

Good facility only caters to its area but is a good place and personnel is very friendly they will help you find a place for a pet, if you drop of a pet the charge $40 but I guess is to help with the animals needs also you are required to bring an ID to proof your address since they accept pets but only from the local zip codes if you are not within their area they will point you in the direction to a place that might take them in. But animals look good and they take good care of the pets they have.
