We were near this store and the signage saying hardware and gifts intrigued me....glad we did. You can buy a garden hose, an egg barbecue pit, pelletized smokers, gas grills, chocolates, coffee beans from all over, sauces for grilling, cookware, yard decorations, and all kinds of....hardware. We walked with an assortment of whole beans, we'll be back for more goodies.

I've been coming to Bering's since I was a little kid. It's like walking into a museum to some extent due to all the amazing products they carry. My parents went there, and so many of my friends still go there and my family and I now go there. My favorite thing to get from Bering's is the Italian and Espresso Roast coffee. This is probably the best coffee that I have ever tasted in my entire life. It's quality is outstanding! If you get a chance to either order a drink or get a bag of coffee beans, I would suggest getting an order before you go. Every time I visit Houston, I always stop at Bering's for coffee and candy.

If you are considering using Bering's for your wedding registry base, I would reconsider. They say they have been calling me and emailing me, but I only have one missed call from them and two emails in the last two months. When I called back immediately, I was sent to a corporate phone tree. Meanwhile, they got upset with my mother for my "not being communicative" when she went to pick up my gifts for me. The lack of friendly tech integration combined with semi-rude customer service has worsened my opinion of Bering's.

This store is so impressive and the staff is wonderful. You can tell the difference right when you walk through the door that the staff enjoys being there, is there to help you and takes pride in wearing the badge on their shirt. Rare to find that these days, and is also rare I'd be writing a review for a "Hardware store" but it is most certainly deserved and found myself wanting to do so. Thank you Royce for your help and will see you next time!

As a life long Houstonian, I’ve shopped at Bering’s for many years. The combination of hardware along with residential contents, stationary, women’s and men’s clothing is ingenious from a retail perspective. That being said, I’ve never been moved to write a review until now. The level of person service I received from Ken Brown while shopping for men’s wear today was above and beyond. He was able to anticipate my wishes and needs, somehow managing to be steps ahead of me in my buying experience. Outstanding!

Going to Berings’s is such a treat. The amazing selection of tools, household products for your every need, and products for the whole family are unbeatable. There’s no other store like it. I wish I could give this store more than 5 stars for the customer service alone.

Who doesn’t love Bering’s?! They have everything you could think of. It’s like a HomeGoods and Home Depot combined into a boutique store. They also carry locally made products. My favorites are the A Casa margarita mixes, salsas, and pasta sauces. Not to mention they’re dog friendly. 🐶

Love this store and have Shop in the Bissonnet store since it opened and the Westheimer store since I was a little girl with my grandmother. Came by this evening at 6:05 to find the store closed.The week before Christmas and had hoped to do some special shopping. With Brick stores struggling, I would have thought they would be open. Sad. Sorry I missed out.Maybe in January.

It was quite the interesting visit to the Bering's.It was a pleasant surprise to find boots from the Dubarry. I don't have to fly to Dublin for that.I bought a simple square pan for brownies instead. I am getting frugal.It is a good purchase as I have baked brownies everyday.

Is it more expensive than Home Depot, Lowe's or Amazon? Yes, for sure. But when you walk into Bering's and need to find something, there's almost always someone you can find who will take you right to it. And usually they are knowledgeable about the products and the choices. if you value your time, it's worth paying a little more for great service. It's an old-timey store, more a General Store than a hardware store. A community treasure.

The responses on excellent customer service...far from my experience in this ridiculously high priced shop. I pass this store regularly. After seeing the big fuss they did there before the holidays with the big tent outside and people showing up all dressed up, I decided to later check it out. I visited this location last week shortly after they opened. I walked through the entire store and not one single clerk out of possibly 5 or 6 I passed offered help or even made eye contact. I passed some clerks multiple times. I was dressed in my worst sweats obviously didn't look the part to shop in this store. Maybe if I walked in dressing more upscale looking ready to spend too much money on unnecessary things I would of grabbed more attention.

There are two main sections in this store. The front section is mainly gifts, upscale housewares, furniture, etc.The back section of the store is what you think of when you envision an old school hardware store. It's great when you need small items to complete a DIY project. There is a nice selection of gas grills.Adjacent to West U, they cater to expensive tastes. Customer service is friendly and personalized.

Very disappointed in the behavior of a long term male employee when I was returning a shower rod. He was rude and implied that it was not purchased at their store. I’ve been shopping at Berings for decades and was shocked at his rudeness. I choose to shop local and purchased a “ big green egg “ from Berings but will not shop at Berings again !!

In my point of view, Bering's is better than Disneyland. You can find pretty much everything here. One thing I love about Bering's Hardware is the customer service you get. All the employees are so helpful!

Like Michelle Cunningham's review on Google, Bering's is "...more than just a hardware store [...] but also a nice collection of specialty gifts and high end housewares."I found it handy from the hardware store aspect, and I also liked their candy department. (My dentist is cringing!) But my wife made a good point: they have all sorts of other items which she is interested in.It reminds me of the Ben Franklin's and other 'Five and Dimes' of my youth. It was just a cool place where you could get almost anything you want with a personal touch. I won't argue that the prices may be high. But for a quick fix -- especially in hardware -- they more than meet the need.All of you Do-It-Yourself'ers would be better of at Lowe's or Home Depot. But this store doesn't really cater to the handy man: it is more of a general store, which I like.

High prices on gift items, but quality, creative, trendy and high end. A general store to beat all general stores. Waterford to garden water fountains, baby clothes to bridal registry and customized gift items, and greeting cards to joint compound. I love this place!

Great store, lots of fun. Great for decorations, gifts, monogramming, stationary, garden, and bridal registry. And they have great selection of dog toys/treats, beds, and unique collars and leashes.

I seriously don’t understand how they stay in business. There must be some revenue source I don’t see because they’re so overpriced even with their 20% coupon that’s always out there. You can get the same exact stuff somewhere else for much cheaper. Berings used to be known for their service but I would rather find my own stuff at HD than pay a huge markup with someone helping me. They sell items besides hardware of course but it’s also expensive. I just think the times of little over priced shops is in the past. It should only be a matter of time before Amazon and Walmart crush this place. I hope it’s soon because this store is in my neighborhood and it would be nice to have a useful store in that spot.

Thus not your average hardware store. There was a coffee bar and as I was passing by the coffee bar I was so tempted to buy a cup but I had my client along with me and I needed to be focused on the task at hand. I highly suggest that you find Royse, he was super friendly very helpful and incredibly knowledgeable. He even came up with several ways of making the situation for my project better. If you go to Berings hardware ask for Royse. He knows his stuff.
