Overall this was a nice little pet store but reptile and betta husbandry needs to improve. I saw baby bearded dragons with no UVB and the bettas are in dire need of a water change. I was very shocked to see the conditions of the bettas considering all the other fish seem to be cared for well.

If i can leave zero stars i would. Terrible service. I called in to ask a general question about prices about a bird i wanted to purchase. The lady flat out say she cannot check because shes really busy and cannot be on the phone ???? How are you going to work at a place and have zero Knowledge ? Why does this place Have a phone if they cannot be on it to attend to possible customers and answer questions??? I live far away so before wasting my time i rather call ahead. To see if worth buying. And this lady prove to me that its not: never going to that place.

I love it here !! I got a Guinea Pig here and it was the best idea EVERR!!!! I love him so much and he’s my best friend ❤️❤️ Today is actually his birthday 10/10 !!!

Hands down, best shop For you beginner and advanced salt water aquarium lovers (also general pet sup needs). Thanks Jesse and Juan, They are very knowledgeable, friendly and take the time to answer all your questions. you can find everything you need for your saltwater aquarium, meds, pro-equipment, and the best for last the coolest coral farm in Harlingen. Thanks.

I drove half hour cause it says they close at 6 and arrived at 5:40. I guess they close early and not at 6 like the time it says. Not good business I wonder if owner approves of it. I called and no answer.

I recently started going back to Harlingen pets, I stopped for several years because I was not satisfied with the grooming.If I'm not mistaken, it's still the same person. I took my dog to get groomed, and I wanted the summer cut. (Schnauzer)I dropped him off at 10:15am, they called around 3:30ish.I went for him, he was eager to go out and do his business, being that he had been there all day.Took him home and needless to say the job they did with the grooming was not acceptable.I called they asked me to go back the next day, unfortunately I had a full day and was unable to take him back.

I had an issue didn't know what to do & the kindness without criticism whether I deserve fish or not attitude I got elsewhere was not found here just, empathy & willingness to assist in any way to correct the wrong. This establishment is not a hurry up & buy chain store. Took my dog to get groomed and they weren't able to bathe him which is understandable because it was his first time but they didn't call us right away to pick him up(he was there for almost 3hrs ) and joked about should've called you sooner they cut his nails way too short I can see the red pinkish do not recommend for pet grooming ....

We always purchase live mice from here to feed our ball python. They aways have what we need. Owner is very helpful and knowledgeable. Definitely recommending

I go here often! Prices are reasonable compared to other pet stores. I bought my pet bunny here and she is the sweetest little fluffball ever! She was very tamed which means she was well taken care of! I took her to the vet and they said she was in perfect health which makes me happy. Its been 4 months since I bought her and she's the best companion ever! This shows that the staff takes very good care of the animals and they looked well maintained and they're cages are clean. I recommend this place to many friends and family members who are looking for a little pet companion.

Don’t get me wrong. It’s a nice shop. Although… Prices are ridiculous. I honestly bought a Platy fish. I thought ehh $4 why not. It was actually $8. Dude.. I coulda gone to Petsmart to buy three for that price. Then to top it off my son buys an item that didn’t even work. Receipt says “no returns or refunds” Soooo why go to the store and fight for what their “policy” says… Not returning to the shop….**You say I couldn’t afford a couple bucks.. $8 for 1 small fish. I bought it.. Plus the price was not posted. Took the male anyways just to give it a better home.** And I see no comment for an item that didn’t work..I did give 3 Star review. Nothing bad there.Welcome.

This store was a very pleasant surprise. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. That wasn't the surprise. The surprise was that the store was as clean as everyone said it was. How dog you make a store full of animals smell clean? Not in a chemical way but, just clean. The place was spotless. My hats off to them. The animals I saw were healthy and very well cared for in nice habitats. Very impressed.

The Valley is lucky to have such a fine pet store. The owner is extremely knowledgeable. His selection of saltwater fish is second to none. I purchased some beautiful corals. Best part is the atmosphere. It’s completed redone and looks beautiful. Keep up the great work!

Store owner was highly respectful and knowledgeable. The staff’s/employees service was very welcoming and kind, and it was a pleasant experience. This place was perfect for purchasing a hamster for my step daughter, you can definitely tell the hamsters here are handled well and much more friendlier than most pet stores. What made our experience the best was Josh, he was well educated on the animals and even made the choose process seamless. He helped make sure my step daughter picked one she wanted and one that interacted with her. Over all best experience we all got to have as a family and very memorable for my step daughter!!! Thank you Harlingen Pets and thank you Josh!!!

Very disappointed in this store. They have a lot of beautiful animals, but the husbandry is terrible. I try to be understanding because I know how much work it is to take care of a lot of animals, but the conditions these animals are living in is completely unacceptable. Even if i was interested in a animal they had, I couldn't see myself supporting a business like this.To be completely fair. The fresh and salt water aquariums seemed well taken care off, but not appropriately sized for certain species.

The customer service is amazing! The gentleman that helped us pick our freshwater fish was very informative. He even offered us to even call back if we had any questions about our fish.Definitely recommend this place!

Walked into this place and noone acknowledged us. We bought a parrot from them 6 months ago and it died, spend over $700 dollars. Noone their cared. Almost every bird was NOT for SALE! Poor customer service. Also asked why the birds were not banded. The lady responded "because we can"! Buyers beware!

Very friendly staff. I get my dog groomed here usually once a month. Groomer is very nice and has always done a great job with our dog. Highly recommend the grooming service here. Has always been fair pricing for our dog. They have variety of fish and other animals as well. Give them a visit

I don't give it zero stars because it won't let me, because the care they gave a poor bird is something that doesn't seem fair to me, buying a lovebird that not only came sick but was much older, which caused another little bird to die. sick, it is something very unfair that I want not to be repeated and that they do something about it, because until they give me a clear answer I will not be at peace
