Nice room. Plenty of modern electrical outlets. No carpet. Quiet. Good mattress. Bathroom remodeled at some point and in good shape. Good staff, but I could not understand them. Next time I'm in town, I'll stay here.Nearby activities: I came here to bike. Bike easily fit into the room. Biking is great in this area - shoulders, not busy, right amount of climbing, great scenery.

Heads up: I reserved through Expedia, and the confirmation email they sent me had a map link that was hilariously wrong. I was three miles down a dirt road at a locked gate before I gave up. The attached photos show the route from the actual location to where the Expedia link sent me, and the view I got at the end of the road.Other than the Expedia / Google snafu, the place seems fine. Clean, with hard floors (which I like). Quiet, and the promise of a decent breakfast.

The name kind of made me expect a Motel 6 type place, but it far exceeded my expectations. The office was clean and smelled nice. The room was clean and nice too; it had a nice comfy bed, a big TV, and a nice desk to set up a PC on or do some journaling. There were plenty of plugs by the bed to charge phones and tablets and such. The bathroom was clean and well-stocked with nice toiletries. The location is good too, just off Hwy 17 before the Hwy 118 turnoff that goes to the McDonald Observatory. There's big beautiful mountains behind the hotel to see and wake up to. RNR Smokehouse, a great BBQ place serving homemade food, is about 1/4 mile away. The rate was affordable. I definitely got more bang for the buck than what I was expecting. I'd come back here if I were by myself.Oh...and they provide a printed guide with TV channels and a bit of history about the area. Nice touch!

We looked at various hotels and motels in West Texas and the Fort Davis area specifically and stumbled upon Fort Davis Inn and RV. Our stay was incredibly pleasant. The room was spacious, the bed was oh so comfortable, great views from our windows! Close to all the incredible roads and scenery. Everyone who worked there was very nice and accommodating to our needs. We would definitely stay here again!!!

There are few horse ranch nearby which are at walking distance. My girls loved the stay and we are hoping to return next summer.Rooms: Beds are very confortable and rooms are very quiteWalkability: Close to porters, where you will find everything you need.

We stayed in the Inn. It was very clean, the beds were comfortable and the rooms well cared for. We would definitely stay here again!Rooms: Our room was exceptionally clean and cozy with a hair dryer, coffee maker, refrigerator and very comfortable beds. We would definitely stay here again!Nearby activities: We stayed here because it was localized to McDonald Observatory, Alpine, the Chihuahuan Desert Nature Centerand the Davis Mountains.

Not a bad stay for the price point. The room was clean and comfortable. The only flaw was the door did not make a good seal when closed. It is a simple fix if they fix it. Not much of a breakfast. They had Jimmy Dean microwave breakfast sandwiches. Other than that, we would stay there again. Gave it 4 stars but if they fix the doors and offer a little more selection at breakfast, it would be a 5 star.

I absolutely adored my room. There were Mountain Views just outside and a huge TV, new fridge and microwave, and no noise filtered in from other rooms. Also, once the pancake machine was up and rolling, I got yummy pancakes for breakfast (they also had breakfast sandwiches and fresh fruit and cereal on my visit). Please give this kind family business. They are a terrific option in the area.

There aren't many places to stay in Ft Davis, but this affordable little simple spot will do for a short visit. It has recently been remodeled, but I have no idea what it was like before. Rooms are tidy and have good amenities-coffee machine with coffee/cups/add ons, a larger small fridge, microwave, some toiletries (make up remover wipes) and built in soap, lotion, shampoo/conditioner. Everything seemed clean, it was quiet when we were there (January) and though you hardly saw the owners, they were attentive when needs arose (help with TV, replacing the pancake batter bag in the machine) and also asked if we needed anything when their cleaning person was out for the day. Free continental breakfast-bananas, oranges, breakfast sandwiches, muffins, bread for toast, pancake machine, oatmeal and 3 dry cereals to choose from as well as coffee, tea, juice/fruit drink, milk or cocoa. They had some concessions for sale (sodas, etc) in the office. Very friendly. Close to main attractions. We felt safe. We'd stay again for sure.Nearby activities: Davis Mountains state park, Indian Lodge, hiking, biking, unique ice cream shop, nature center, Ft. Davis national historical site (awesome) 30 minutes from Alpine or Marfa.Food & drinks: Motel sells drinks in office. Free Continental breakfast. Porter's grocery store very nearby.

Fort Davis Inn & RV was surprisingly clean, renovated and quiet. Looked to be family-run, and were very friendly and helpful. Extra towels were readily given and they had nice soaps and lotions. They had comfortable beds and pillows. Close to McDonald Observatory and the local coffee and ice cream shops. Will stay here again if we are ever back in the area.

Very nice couple operating the motel. I know they work very hard, so I don't want to be too negative, but I don't want other travelers to be surprised. I have to preface that it could have just been issues in my particular room, & had I not been so exhausted, I could have asked for a different room but did not.Positives: Location, Views, Nice Operators, Comfortable Bed, Nice Assortment of Beekman Bath Products, Very Cold Mini-Fridge w/Small Freezer, Small Microwave, Great Room Darkening Window Coverings, Small but Ample Continental Breakfast Options for those with reasonable expectations, Pet-Friendly, Good Water Pressure, New Furniture.Negatives: Reserved Non-Smoking but received a room w/awful smoke stench, exposed wires in ceiling, missing smoke detector, tv did not work, stained sheets & towels, large obvious stain on comforter, film residue & discolored bathtub, hairs in sink, dead bugs, peephole in door was filled with a crumpled paper receipt, harsh harsh harsh flourescent or bright daylight lighting with no lamps whatsoever or reading lights beside bed, weatherstripping missing from door so daylight, wind, & guest's diesel fumes came pouring into the room, bathtub wouldn't drain despite <10 min shower & stopping several times to try to give the drain time to catch up---took nearly an hour to drain. Many minor issues not worth mentioning, but all said, the room simply felt dirty. It needed a thorough, deep cleaning, repairs made, & issues addressed.I made do, used my own personal linens, towels, & pillows, & again, I never complained. I felt too bad for the nice operators, but at the same time, there were so many glaringly obvious issues that I feel like I shouldn't have been put into a position to have to complain. My hope is that they will continue making repairs & renovations because with some repairs & cleaning, it could potentially reach 2.5 - 3-star status and be a comfortable stay for guests who enjoy the wonderful surrounding scenery.

This small place was a welcomed surprise. For the price my wife and I could not be more happy! The rooms were clean, the air conditioning work amazing, the bed was comfortable. The breakfast was average for a continental. The staff were very friendly. It is very close to the state park about 3 miles, observatory was about a 20 minute drive.

This little inn is a very nice and affordable place to stay. The rooms were nice and clean, but a little dated. Our coffee pot in the room didn't work, which was a bummer. The AC worked very well, the TV had plenty of channels, and the bathroom was also clean. The water would get warm very quickly, too. They provided breakfast, which was a modest selection of muffins, microwaveable sandwiches, cereal, fruit, etc. There was also a waffle maker. We had a problem with our keycard not opening our door, and the management was quick to help us out. Check in is at 2pm, check-out is at 11am, but they were understanding about us checking in late. Overall, a very nice place. I would rent a room here again.

Don’t let the courthouse picture fool you, it has nothing to do with the Fort Davis Inn which is a very unremarkable road sign inn. On check in, the manager was on the speaker phone with a friend and never ended her conversation. She spoke to me, spoke on the phone, spoke to me, spoke on the phone spoke to me…didn’t understand my British Origin name and turned her computer screen to my attention so that I could find my own book in information for her. Now the actual lodging was just fine - most needs are met but I’m hard of hearing (a product of combat and a training accident) and the TV Volume had a set “low” volume that we were not allowed to adjust. That’s unusual to me. We did some laundry here, saw some deer carefully make tracks in a high grass trail got a decent sleep and continued our travels. All in all- the rates were 30% higher than it really should have been and I would be surprised if I returned.

Stayed a night before heading to carlsbad caverns last night April 12, 2023. We were amazed 👏 room is clean, the owner is very approachable and very helpful. They have 24 hr laundry area very cleap than laundry mat. Laundry is $3 in quarters and $2 for dryer.Location is perfect since we also visited balmorhea state park and head out to carlsbad
