I really wanted to like this place... The dining room was great, small town cafe feeling, and the food was really good. The service however was really kind of unfriendly. I am obviously not from this town of population 899, and I guess they knew it. The waitress seemed to be about 16 years old and after bringing our drinks she went and sat down with a few other teenagers two tables from us. They laughed and talked loudly the entire time we waited on our food - it just felt awkward and I wanted to leave. There is another restaurant in town that is much friendlier, professional and I'm going there next time

Enjoyed this fun little stop on our way to Waco. Our waitress was sweet, the food was good and what a huge glass of sweat tea!PS the nods & winks from the table of handsome gentlemen as they left made me blush. 😊

A hometown restaurant with friendly and hard working staff. Try the spicy grilled catfish. Superb!

Ordered Chicken Fried Steak and was given option of baked tater or fries so I picked tater(pictured mashed with "Down Home Country Cooking" advertised... I have never seen an unbreaded CFS and it was greasy ... small baked tater ... service was ok but not real friendly $15.97 with tea .. just passing thru town...prolly would skip this next time passing thru town

The food was pretty good. The portions are huge and the prices are very very reasonable. If you're in the area and you're hungry definitely worth stopping in.I can't get five stars at this point because the enchiladas were a little bit disappointing but that's the only thing on the menu that I tried besides the chips and salsa in the french fries which were both good.

Well worth the drive from Abilene. Old school mom and pop diner.

Small town restaurant, with delicious homemade dishes catering to people from all walks of life. While the physical establishment leaves a little to be desired, you won’t be sorry visiting this homey spot for delicious food!

Exceptional food and delightful surface we had a cheeseburger & open face roast beef sandwich. Everything was delicious and the surface was so far above what I'm used to in the big city I'm about out of adjectives. Will happily return often ❤️Wheelchair accessibility: Easy access doors and very easy ramps not much elevation change from the parking lot.

We had the daily special, chicken fried steak with 3 sides, dessert and a drink for under $10. The food was excellent, good old country home cooking, and the staff was friendly and kind. A lovely place to visit. ♥️

I’ve eaten here with and without family. Jean’s is consistent with their food which is good and with their waitstaff which isn’t good. I’m glad that they’ve kept their menus since covid and haven’t done like everyone else and switched it up.Customer Service: One thing I’ve noticed about many small town restaurants is that most of the waitstaff tends to visit a lot with the local customers while on the job. Here, it’s not so much of the visiting but that locals get better service than out-of-towners. I end up having to holler to get my drink refilled, get more napkins, get the ticket, etc. - 1 starFood: Their enchiladas are awesome! Both the beef & cheese. Also their quesadilla. I’ve had their appetizer sampler and fried pickles. All good. - 5 starPrice: Decently priced, a little better than average that I’m happy with. - 4 stars

Food was great but the service left allot to be desired. Food took 30 min to get and waitress only checked on us when good arrived. Then we were almost don't eating she brought ketchup and said thought y'all might want this.

Great home cooked food at fair price. We had the special and it was great! We will be going again next time we go through town. Wonderful service as well!

We came here for breakfast but was too late (ends at 11). BUT that led me to order the special (small chicken fried steak, corn, red beans, mashed potatoes, and a roll). I ate EVERYTHING. So good!
