We stayed here for the eclipse. Book the OG house if you can. It has the most fantastic deck ever and is truly restful. Bring with you potable water. We hadn't realized that you can't drink the water coming out of the traps before we got there. I enjoyed tubing in April but it was a little cold to be doing so! There was quite a bit of walking involved, so I worry what it would be like if there isn't rain in the near future.

Happy Hollow is a great place to start your float at the Frio river in Concan, Texas. Very friendly people with plenty of items in the store. Rates are reasonable. They will shuttle you to the departure point and you float back to the starting point at their store. It’s about a two hour float if you don’t stop.

In a drought ridden summer devoid of any long floating trips, Happy Hollow provides a happy remedy indeed. Cute, fun, family friendly place. This section of the Frio is spring fed and is not dry. A great place to float, sit in the river with friends, relax and play. Parking on both sides of Hwy 83. Convenience store, souvenirs, etc. There are vacation accommodations on site above river. Friendly, helpful staff. Price was about $15/person if just visiting to swim and float. (July 2022) Would definitely visit again!!

The Best service of all tubing places in Concan! They will even open up and set you up with tubes and the shuttle when they aren't present at the store! If you call them they will get there shortly. We have been going to all kind of different tubing places but after having found these people we stayed with them and have done so for years!!!Today April 4th 2024 we had a blast even though we had to walk in a few spots as the river is low. It was still really really awesome and we had the river all to ourselves ❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️

(July 2022) after encountering a over occupancy state park we thought all was lost. I turn to google for answers. As i dove deeper into an answer parked outside said state park i stumbled upon a post about river access and $15 .HENCE began my experience with this amazing establishment. Not only did they have a very clean and well thought out layout but they are by far the most respectful and family orientated river outfitter staff i have ever encountered. Biggest perk is that they have rugged brand items at a non inflated price. I hate purchasing off brand items in other locations and the items only lasting me one trip. Over all the river access is what i wanted . I’m glad i didn’t go to the state park this year things happen for a reason. The best part of trips is the spontaneous change of plans that you have no idea where they will end. This spot is a must try and make sure to drop some money in the college fund. Thank you happy hollow for making another memory for my family possible

Floated other areas of the river this trip, lots of walking on most. Happy hollow route was the our favorite and most comfortable by far. My daughter caught a butterfly at the beginning of the float and apparently it’s our new pet.

BEST place to stay on the Frio ! We come here every year . The swimming hole is deep enough and it’s the perfect chill place on the river . Plus Happy Hallow also provides shuttle services so you can tube .

This was our first time here and we had a great time. The staff was friendly & helpful. The bus dropped us off at the beginning while the desk held onto our car keys for free so we wouldn’t lost them (that’s optional). It took a couple of hours to float back and it was very relaxing! The prices are reasonable, $12 per person which includes the tube rental & bus ride. We’ll definitely be back!

Right now the water is so low, they advise against doing the float unless you absolutely want to so full respect for them saying so. If you want to hit the Frio, just do the day swim pass and hang out for a few hours. Wonderful experience!

It was my first time floating on the river and they were so helpful at the front desk. They explained everything to me and had anything you could need for the float. Wonderful, 100% recommend, I'm DEFINITELY going back to them the next I come to float!

This place has everything you need to enjoy tubing down the river. I went on July 3rd. The water level was extremely low. There were multiple places where you had to walk. However, the water was crystal clear, and the temperature was nice, keeping you cool. Great summer activity.

Definitely will not be back!!! Cashier lady was rude, we usually go through Andy on the river but water was very low so we called this place and the lady was like it's 50/50 walk and float, well that was a huge lie it was more like 90/10 we walked the whole way except at the very end right and the exit!! It was horrible Definitely won't be back

This was our first time to stay at Happy Hollow, and the place is beautiful! The interior decor in the bungalows is so fresh, and indoor and outdoor the place was very well maintained and clean.What wasn’t great was that no face masks were used by the staff in the store. A rude notice was on the door saying that if you feel threatened by Covid, you should stay home. And they had large Trump 2020 signs with profanity.So although the place was really nice, we felt unwelcome and were really sad that we had been patrons there.

We went into the store and rented tubes to float in and a floating tube for our cooler. The lady said we would walk for about 5 minutes, which was a lie. we walked about 90% of the river. Not only did we carry the tubes most of the time, we had to drag the cooler with us, too. My feet were hurting for a few days after walking on all them rocks. So make sure you talk to someone first and ask how much water is in the rivet first.

Great one-stop-shop for any and everything you need to spend time on the Frio River. We visited this spot a couple of years ago when the river was running, and it was a fantastic time. The shuttle takes you up the river a ways and then to float back down to Happy Hollow. We went on July 9th, 2022 and the river isn’t running, but we were still able to enjoy the deep water behind the shop and had a great time in the river. The staff are very friendly and accommodating.

No regard for the safety of their customers or the community, or for the statewide mask order. This is the sign on their front door. 200k dead in the US alone, and these people can't even be bothered to put a piece of cloth over their face. Take your business elsewhere, unless you were planning to spend the second half of your vacation in the ICU.

Happy Hollow was a great experience! The staff are knowledgeable and super helpful. We went on a holiday weekend that was super busy but we didn't have to wait too long in line or to get on the bus. Things move quickly even though there's lots of people. When we were getting out, I even had someone come and take the tubes from me so I didn't have to drag them up the hill. It was a good price for the experience we had!

Seemed like a nice place before the crowd of college age young adults started getting drunk and rowdy. Two women started making out in the middle of everything. Definitely NOT KID FRIENDLY atmosphere! Disappointed considering we paid $15/person and had to leave. Sad the owners allow this kind of behavior which deters families. Definitely won’t be going back.

Overall a fun experience. Felt like they were rushing you though. The store definitely needs updating. Watch the tubes they give you! They gave us ours and it had a hole in it and we had to bring it to their attention to get a different one. Also know at the end of the float you can't get back into the water once you get out, and there is a pretty steep hill you have to walk up with your heavy coolers etc.
