Had to wait 15 minutes for someone to come to the cash register so I culd pay and leave the store. Saw staff holding conversations with each other, not helping customers. Saw no managers, and no plan to encourage employees to assist customers rather than have social interactions with each other. Will NEVER shop at PETCO again. I can get better prices online, without the aggravation.

The grooming department and management are HORRIBLE! I had to wait for someone to come out after waiting several minutes for my dog’s grooming appointment and they say that I was too late! The girl finally came over saying we can reschedule and wouldn’t answer my questions went back to talk the groomer and came back out still wouldn’t answer my questions of why and what is too late so I got the manager and it took him 15 minutes or more just to explain what she could’ve said in 1 smh. My point is I got turned away for no reason other than them wanting to not do their job. My dog’s appointment was at 4:15pm and I was late but within the 15 minute mark but since no one was at the desk and I waited for a someone they counted time against me and refused service! Not fair and I will not return because I’ve always had to wait a long time for someone to come over every time I go and this was the last

Horrible customer service! I took my 11 month old Goldendoodles in to get groomed and was told that they could not take him because the husky dog was barking and it gave the other dogs anxiety. Donna isn’t experienced to handle a goldendoode she should find another job.

Great store, friendly helpful staff. Have been buying fish here for years. Great quality fish. Good pricing, great selection. Mainly shop here for my pond. Goldfish and koi. A couple of times a week they get a shipment of fresh fish. All the food and chemicals you might need for pond.

Today, 12/10/23 I just finished up a 6 week puppy training with Christina at the PetCo in Cedar Hill, Texas.My words do not adequately describe the extraordinary puppy trainer Christina is for pet parents like myself. She cleared up a lot of gray areas I had about “how to train my German Shepherd puppy 🐶”.Bella and I adored Christina. ❤️I am so grateful I took the time to learn and apply the methods she taught me and Bella. Going forward, I feel much more confident and comfortable training Bella and I owe it to Christina. I am so impressed with how simple she made the training.I highly recommend asking for Christina when setting up your training sessions with PetCo. You will not be disappointed.⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Ordered some dog food for my puppy and was easy and convenient. Was super easy to just go in and pick up. The young lady was very professional, she asked me what I was picking up and I told her and she didn't hesitate to go and get it for me. So I will definitely ordering my dog food from this petco. I have been coming to this Petco for years and recently they moved the live crickets from behind the register to over by the fish. Problem is there is never in the fish department to help. At first I thought this is new they will get the hang of it. Nope, they still haven’t figured out how to help someone within a 10 minute time frame. The fastest response I have ever gotten was when I was getting my own crickets and someone magically ran over and said you couldn’t. Please put the crickets back behind the register.

Nice friendly knowledgeable staff. Have great treats for dogs. Bought some really nice life jackets for my miniature dachshund and regular dachshund. As with other Pet stores prices can be on the high side. Petco has great online shopping too. Cheers!

This store is clean, well-stocked, and friendly. I did notice they have a display in front of the grooming window. I wondered about that, but it doesn't completely block the view. I have only purchased supplies here, no animals or fish, but the tanks and cages are clean and they don't have individual fish stuck in ready-to-go cups with lids. Great location in this chain!

I love our Petco store, especially the grooming staff. The one thing I have to say is that they are consistently understaffed for answering their phones. I called for a curbside pick-up, and it rang and rang. I finally had to leave and come back another day due to time constraints.

The store and employees are very nice but bearded dragons should not be kept on loose substrate (sand). It can cause infection and clog their pores in their legs. A carpeted type of flooring should be used.Update: I went in today and noticed they switched out the sand with carpeted mats. However, they have no heat lamps, only uvb bulbs. Heat mats do not work well because bearded dragons can burn themselves. Heat lamps are greatly needed for bearded dragons to be able to bask and properly grow.

Very friendly & usually have everything you need in stock. I mainly go for the grooming for my dog. She's always excited to go & they do a good job every time. Before you drop off your pet make sure you know closing time because it had changed in different occasions. Still, a good place to go.

I love taking our Jaxie to get groomed here. Ariel is hands down the best!! She’s so patient with the animals and I always love the cut. 10/10 recommend this pet i for your fur babies grooming needs. Everyone is so nice and professional. You won’t regret it!!

BEWARE! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE TAKE YOUR PET SOMEWHERE ELSE FOR GROOMING!!! They also abuse pets according to several reviews with one dog returning to the owner WITH A BLOOD CLOT IN IT'S EYE! They abuse your pet then say it's your pet who was difficult! I was already done after the service I received but after reading their reviews I am DONE DONE!There is a pattern I see with the reviews for this place. They like to shave dogs instead of groom them. I brought my puppy in to be groomed and the first thing Ariel said is that she has to shave him. He had one mat by his ear AND SHE NEEDS TO SHAVE HIS ENTIRE BODY????Then she goes on to say they can groom him for an extra $7 per 15 minutes. When I said great so you can groom she replies no, "I will shave him because I don't want to give him brush burn or hurt him but another groomer can do it." Now I'm no rocket scientist but if another groomer CAN get the job done but YOU ARIEL refuse to do the job that tells me you're not a real groomer. Nor did you want to do your GROOMING job if you were! Then she tried to back track all that and say she didn't mean it what she meant is another Petco could do it. Lazy! So another real groomer can do it at another Petco but you can't.I try then asked for the manager. and Alejandro, who was standing next to Ariel said I was being rude and disrespectful. I told him I wanted to tell her to shut up, but I didn’t do that. That would’ve been rude. That would’ve been disrespectful because she kept interrupting me over and over again. Guess what the manager,I told him I wanted to tell her to shut up, but I didn’t do that. That would’ve been rude. That would’ve been disrespectful because she kept interrupting me over and over again. Guess what!? The manager, a gentleman was no help. Even after explaining everything and telling him how off the energy was with those two he said, "I don't have anything to do with their energy" flabbergasted, I walked away!!!!So I had them refund the almost $400 dollars I was paid for training for my puppy. Of course then he's so sorry and willing to refer me to another groomer and wants to make things right. Boy bye!

If I could give Petco's grooming services zero stars I would! Currently 9 months pregnant and took my dog in this morning as a walk in to get a nail trim before I give birth. The store has been advertising taking walk ins through their app and on the website. I arrived at 7:50am 10 minutes before they opened and was the very first customer in the store. The groomer told me they could not take me as a walk in customer because they had other appointments coming up. Keep in mind NO ONE was even in the store and they didn't have any dogs when I arrived. She told me to come back later when she had time to cut his nails.Petco, don't advertise that you take walk in customers when you don't! It would have taken the groomer 5/10 minutes to cut his nails. I will NOT be back!

Horrible customer service! I took my five month Yorky in to get groomed and was told that they could not take him because on the vaccinations for the rabies shot it did not have an expiration date. It showed that he had the vaccination August 6, which was just last month. I ask how long does a rabies shot last, the guy at the counter said a year. It doesn’t take a genius to realize that if he had it a month ago regardless if it shows an expiration date or not, you should know that it’s good for a year. So the next day I had the clinic that gave the Raby shot send me a new vaccination form showing an expiration date of the Raby shot. I booked another grooming for my Yorky for the following Wednesday . They call me Tuesday afternoon and tell me that the person they booked me with decided they’re not coming to work Wednesday. So instead of booking me with someone else, they decided to move my service to Friday. Very inconvenient for someone that has already been waiting to get their fur baby groomed. I spoke to the manager and they agreed that they should have booked me with someone else for that Wednesday but there’s nothing he can do because now its all full. Horrible horrible customer service! I will not be back. And I will no longer be purchasing food, toys, or anything else that I have been purchasing for the last two years from there.

This review is simply to spotlight the excellent service I received tonight. I went to the Cedar Hill store around 7:45 pm to pick up an online order. Natalia was working the register. She couldn't find my order. After spending several minutes looking for my order, we figured out that I had sent the order to the wrong store. Natalia was still super nice and patient as I tried to get my order from the Cedar Hill store. Natalia needed assistance to get my order completed and sought the help of Clarissa. Clarissa was also super nice and patient with me. They were able to correct my wrong and let me leave the store with my order. Thank you Clarissa and Natalia for going above and beyond to help me, even when I messed up.

So I tried Petco mobile grooming Cedar Hill because I have a senior dog and to reduce her stress and anxiety during grooming I figured one on one treatment would be better. Ms. Jesse is absolutely amazing!!! My dog's grooming honestly was the best yet! AND to top it off she was sooo happy!!! She had been limping and every since her grooming appointment she has just been prancing around the house!!! Jesse gave special care to her paws and and she smells great and her coat is shiny. And for the convenience the price was very reasonable! I'm definitely using them going forward permanently! I just want to say thanks Jesse for taking care of my fur baby ❣️
