The staff is so friendly and professional and they took good care of my boy and made me feel good about leaving him there to get fixed. He wasn't traumatized or scared when we left like some places. Great vet!Edit: lost a couple stars cause grooming practices could use some improvement. Scheduled my boys grooming after he got fixed, over a month in advance. They called me the DAY before to tell me he needed an extra $150 in shots just to get his hair cut. When I pointed out that he just got fixed without them, they said it was because I declined the shots. So apparently they don't need the shots for an invasive surgical procedure but they do to get their hair trimmed. Either way, fair enough what ridiculous rules you want to make but more than a days notice would be nice when I've had it scheduled so long.

My kitty passed away because they hired a new vet who didn't even know what an abscessed tooth was. Little Stinky mouth was so swollen and full of puss it poisoned her blood and organs, all they could give me was a topical. These guys are completely worthless !!! Don't ever take your cat here !!!

They were great. My dad and I came in with our 2 dogs and originally scheduled 2 separate appointments. Upon arrival, the receptionist said they were able to combine our appointments so we could be in and out faster, so we were seen at the same time. We were in and out in 15 minutes for everything we needed to get done. The staff was very friendly and accommodating.

Canyon Vet Canyon Lake is one of the best veterinary places that I have ever been. In addition, Fetch which is the boarding area for animals is also very good. The simple fact of the matter is that they care about your pet. I have been going to Canyon Vet for quite some time and a couple weeks ago I had to say goodbye to one of my family members. Jax and I can tell you that everything that this new place does is for the pet and the owner. They were so kind. They were so respectful and Jay showed such love and compassion for my boy as I had to say goodbye to him. If there is any question in your mind about picking a veterinary service and or a grooming and pet boarding place, this is the place you want to go to.

No parent of a fur baby should have to bring their pet with a chronic illness (which a vet from CLV diagnosed) in for an exam every time to get his/ her medication. Not every one who has a pet is wealthy.I took the same kitten to get fixed somewhere else paid 75 dollars. Was quoted like a price 5 times the amount I paid from CLV.I always try to support local businesses, but won't be supporting this Vet clinic anymore.

We started taking our dog here when we noticed a lump on her neck and had it checked and removed. The vet had given us the price for everything and that we could pay extra to send it to be tested if it's cancerous. We payed extra and when we asked if it was cancerous he said he couldn't tell from the results. We still had to pay the extra $300 with no comfort of knowing if our dog had cancer. I wanted to not go back but my wife liked how kind the receptionist and vets are to the dogs and she took her again for a rash. Ran test, prescribed medicine, and $400 later and the rash never completely went away. My wife called asking if we could get a refill of her medicine. The receptionist was very rude and basically insinuated that it was my wife's fault because we didn't call or come in sooner? She is a teacher and I open a restaurant early during the week so it is hard for us to get there during the hours of operation because they are closed Saturday and Sundays. All their smiling faces and treats are not worth the cost financially. Also to basically tell someone it's their fault for them not doing their job is insanity. I will taking our babies back to Bulverde Bexar Veterinary Clinic. They may not have the best bed side manner but treat your dog right for a fair price. Update. After taking our dog to Bexar we found out that the medicine that Canyon Vet prescribed was just for the infection. Not for the actual fungus they said she had. So they didn't treat it completely so we would have to come back and spend more money. That is definitely speculation on my part but I can't see another reason why they wouldn't of prescribed something for the fungal itself? Shady expensive business practices.

From the very first interaction with the front office, to the vet techs and the doctors themselves, this place is top notch! Very professional, compassionate, and transparent with treatment options and costs. We had to put a beloved pet down and it honestly felt like we were with family, such genuine compassion and care. You can absolutely entrust your precious fur babies to their care.

Love love love these folks and how they care for my not-so-easy-to-deal-with doggo. She had a nasty tear on her back and they have been on top of it like nobody’s business. Impressed and thankful and pleasantly surprised by their bills!!! Less expensive than I expected! And that’s always a good surprise in addition to excellent care. Dr Buintain (sp?) and new-to-the-practice Dr Lackey are kind and go beyond. Canyon Vet Spring Branch hwy 281.

While traveling on vacation I noticed my pup was not feeling well! I spoke to my local vet who recommended I get him checked out. I found this clinic just a few miles away from where I was staying. I arrived this morning at 7:30am as soon as they opened the doors. The staff was very welcoming and within 35mins they had my Huckleberry in a room to get a wellness check. The staff, nurse and doctors were all very attentive and made a potentially worse situation better quickly. They also educated me on how to proceed with his care for the remainder of my trip until we can get back home. Thank you to the amazing staff at CanyonVet.

I have been using Canyon Vet for my Pekingese for over 5 years and for grooming for the last 3+ years. Every employee has always been so professional and respectful of my time. My little fur baby is not upset to go to the groomer, like she has been at others. During the pandemic they have done the best that they can to keep everyone safe, while still taking care of our needs. Don’t hesitate to give them a try.

My family and I cannot thank CanyoVet Canyon Lake enough for all that they did for our beloved Lucky in the final stages of his time with us. From his diagnosis with kidney failure to his treatment and all the way up to his passing, the receptionists, vet techs, and veterinarians, especially Dr. Talia Pleason, were all exceptionally comforting, caring, and compassionate. They provided detailed descriptions on how to make him more comfortable for his I.V. drips to keep him hydrated and were always so gracious when we called in for any clarifications. They even sent us this heartwarming condolence card and prints of Lucky’s nose and paws to remember him by. CanyonVet is an amazing place and once my family is ready to have another furry one in the house I look forward to seeing them again 💞

We could not be more grateful for Dr. Pleason! She accurately identified the quick decline of our moyen poodle Chuckie and helped us to get him to A&M for emergency spinal surgery before it was too late. She was extremely warm, knowledgeable, and squeezed us in for urgent visits with ease. Thanks to her clear instructions and recommendations Chuckie isn't paralyzed and should make a full recovery from 2 of his discs having ruptured. If we lived here full time she'd absolutely be our primary vet. Highly recommend this facility. Dr. Pleason, we truly can't thank you enough!

What a rude and obnoxious staff. I walked in with an emergency and they refused to see my animal which is an established patient. There was nobody in the lobby and it was an hour or more before closing time and still turned me away without even looking at my animal. What kind of animal hospital turns away an injured patient when their doors are still open? I have 12yrs vet tech experience and not once have I EVER seen an animal clinic turn away a patient during business hours, regardless of how busy. That’s part of being a doctor. I guess getting off right at 6pm is more important. I would NEVER recommend this establishment… what would I say “ oh yeah you have to go to this vet they’ll turn you away during business hours!”Absolutely disgusted with CanyonVet and staff.

Amazing Staff and a Very Welcoming Setting. I took my puppy in for her vaccines, nail trimming, and her chip, the staff here were so awesome. They handled my puppy very well, lots of love and belly rubs, they explained how everything worked and what each shot covers. Overall a 10 out of 10 visit, I will not be going anywhere else.

I love Canyon Vet Canyon Lake. Dr. Leakey and staff are excellent from the smiling ladies at the front desk, to the vet techs, to the doctors. They are kind and caring and my animals can sense that. I have used them for several years now. I would never trust my pets to anyone else. All vets and clinics should strive to be like Canyon Vet Canyon Lake and Dr. Leakey.

We can't be more thankful to the staff and Doctors at CanyonVet in Canyon Lake. Our regular vet was closed but our 16 year old cat Spike had a stroke and was in pain. We called and the staff were so very kind and made time to fit us in. We had to put our sweet boy down but Dr. Leakey was so kind. He even held our baby's hand and talked to him throughout the process. Everything was a blur so the only name that I remembered is the Doctor but the ENTIRE staff were so compassionate. I can't praise and thank them enough. It was a roough day for our family but they made it as comfortable as possible. From the bottom of our hearts thank you to all the good people at CanyonVet. The kindness you showed us and our sweet Spikey boy will not be forgotten.

We have only been in Canyon Lake a short time and our thirteen year old Dachshund Noel got sick overnight. I called and made her an appointment but she passed away even before I could get her there. They handled her cremation for us and were so very sweet and compassionate and as difficult as it all was, their compassion made it easier. We have a new little guy now and I am going to get him established with them. I wouldn’t think of taking him anywhere else. Thanks y’all, every one of you made it all a little easier.

I am so pleased with CanyonVet Canyon Lake. Your time is important to them. Your pet is seen on time and given high quality care. Staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Dr. Hale gives thorough explanations of treatment options, so you can decide what is best for your pet. My dog is terrified of strangers, and everyone there is so patient with him. I have full confidence in this vet clinic and highly recommend them.

We had an emergency and needed to come in quickly. The entire staff were so incredibly nice and helped our little pup with his problems. They were very thorough and gave him lots of cuddles. It was a relief to have them down the road when we were traveling. Wish we lived closer to continue seeing them!

I just love the staff at Fetch! They have been the caretakers of our pups since the past 4-5 years. I trust them wholeheartedly to make decisions for Snoopy and Ranger. Lacey is the best receptionist and Sarah is the best groomer at Fetch. They are more than a grooming and boarding clinic with a whole lot of TLC!
