We, like many others, were headed toward Big Bend national park and needed assurance our dog would be OK once we were in the park. The best vet I have ever taken my sweet baby boy Moses (Boston terrier) to.He had an abnormal mass that burst and this office was quick to get him in. Recently he had surgery and they were so informative through the entire process. Professional, compassionate, and affordable. No price gauging etc.. you can tell they care about their patients. Dr Mary, & Dr Zac Dodson are absolutely the very best! They are always extremely professional, knowledgeable, kind, compassionate, caring, & responsive to all of our veterinary needs. Their facilities are also spotless clean which we always appreciate & take comfort in when our animals are undergoing a procedure. I will never forget the day our beloved Australian Shepherd was diagnosed with cancer, & although things were crazy busy, Dr Mary just took the time out of her busy schedule to sit with us outside & answer all of our questions, put our minds at ease, & in that moment I felt that we were her only clients even with everything else going on. We have always felt due to their incredibly quick response to our dogs fibrosarcoma diagnosis, that our dog is alive, healthy, & happy today. Dr Zac also has always been more than patient & kind with all the challenges we have presented to him, even including dealing with our “not so friendly” mouser cat! We feel so truly blessed to have both Dr Mary & Dr Zac for all of our veterinary needs, & would give them a 10 star rating if possible!

Had an emergency with my dog and she wanted $120 up front and was not able to take payments. I was in a panic and she was rude and condescending . He had been bit by a rattlesnake and she didn’t have a care in the world. If she doesn’t like her job or animals she’s in the wrong profession. My husband is a disabled vet and I’m disabled without benefits so $120 was out of the question. Then she said if they couldn’t take care of him, they would have to send him to Odessa. Finally got him in to see Dr Janet Greathouse. She’s awesome. She had just had knee surgery the day before and didn’t hesitate coming to take care of my baby. And was willing to take payments. I will never recommend Dr. Mary Dodson to anyone ever.

I have always loved Dr. Mary but now that her son Dr. Zack is working with her it is double awesome. They came to the office after hours because my dog injured himself, and found out the problem in less than an hour. It also was really affordable.

I've interacted with most if not all of the Vets in the tri-county area. All are committed professionals but Dr. Zachary Dodson is perhaps the most communicative and empathetic. The staff are likewise excellent and I can't recommend Alpine Small Animal Practice enough. ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐

Our dog had ACL surgery in Midland and two days later pulled the surface stitches out. We called ASAP and were told to bring our dog and they would see what they could do. Our wait was just a few minutes when Dr. Zak got with us. There were several others with their pets being taken care of. Dr. Mary had us wait just a few more minutes when she took our dog in and re-stitched his incision. Our dog now wears a cone of shame but he's not able to get to the stiches. This was our first meeting with the good folks at ASAP. The entire staff was kind and caring and timely. I highly recommend ASAP.

We are very happy to write a review for Alpine Small Animal Practice. Dr. Mary and her staff have served us well in every instance that we have needed them. They have always treated our pets with skill and interest. From shots and checkups to surgeries, they have been there for Patches, Bentley and Bella. This is the first veterinarian we have ever used who called on her weekend off to check on one of our pets! Dr. Mary is top notch in our book.

I have used the Alpine small animal practice for over ten years, four dogs and a cat. The quality and professionalism of the staff and the vets are second to none. The care given to each of my animals is personal and they truly care about the health and well-being of all animals. I could not recommend them more.
