This place was ok for me. First, I'll say the service was really good, the atmosphere was fine, and everything was clean. My only issue, and yours may vary, was the food itself. I ordered the pancakes and sausage, and they seemed to taste a lot like the hotcakes and sausage that you'd get from a McDonald's. I was even a little suspicious why my food came out so quickly (like 3 minutes) after i ordered it, and how it was similar to food that was microwaved. Maybe it's just the menu items I selected, but the overall quality of the food isn't going to have me eager to come back for more, any time soon.

We ate here twice during our stay. The first morning, Kay served us and she was such a sweet attentive lady, always checking on us. The second morning, we were served by Larry and he was on spot with coffee and water or whatever we needed. Eating here was like going back to grandma's house. Warm, friendly, inviting. The atmosphere was cozy and relaxing. Wonderful people! We will be visiting them again next time in the area. I wholeheartedly recommend if you go through Townsend, TN., that you stop in for breakfast.

Let me start by saying we love to support local businesses as much as we can, especially when traveling. We visited this restaurant a few years back and the food was delicious so we couldn't wait to come again when we stayed in town. Unfortunately, almost everything on the menu starts at $15, including a simple BLT. The taters that came with the sandwich tasted as if they were yesterday's left overs that sat under a heat lamp for an entire day. They were hard and oddly room temperature at the same time. The waitress only came to refill the drinks 1x, and then the owner told us it would be $2 if we wanted our drinks to go. Their drinks, including tea, are $4 each, by the way. We spent more in tea than we did for a freaking sandwich. Our lunch for 3 people was almost $100! 4 drinks, 2 sandwiches, and a burger, plus tip is all we had! We went from being excited to go back to never wanting to go again. Do yourself a favor, save the money and go somewhere else. We. can't speak for the pancakes or breakfast, but the lunch was terrible, and I wouldn't even give the leftovers to a dog.

The waiter was personable and was the star of this establishment! Unfortunately the same can not be said about the food. With it being the start of the busy season, I didn't expect 5 star food, but was hoping to get a good meal. We ended up paying $50 for 2 people that felt more like a $20 meal. French toast was warm, not hot. The western omelet left some to be desired. Do yourself a favor and drive into Gatlinburg and eat at the Pancake Pantry. 🥞

The only thing good about this place was the service. I ordered a Rueben and when i put ot up to my mouth to take a bite there was an odor. And I just thought maybe it was a passing smell. I took a bite. Nope, it was the sandwich. I ate the home fries which were decent. And the waitress asked so I told her the sandwich was inedible. She asked if I wanted a burger: so I did that. It was edible but that was about it: my husband had a chopped steak which he said was good but it was very tiny for $$15.95. The waitress didn’t even charge me for a sandwich just the potatoes/ which was very generous as I ate the burger. But I can’t tell you how awful that Rueben was! 🤢

My husband and I are visiting this area for the first time. We went to this diner to support the locals and we didn’t check the reviews—BIG MISTAKE! If you want a good breakfast dont go here! The Veggie Omelet had greasy slimy bell peppers and onions. They tasted like old fajita leftovers, The pancakes were dry and the syrup bottle was sticky. We were charged 4 dollars for each cup of coffee and never got a refill. I also ordered a small milk which was in a filmy glass and the milk wasn’t fresh. Our bill was 45 dollars! It was a huge disappointment and ripoff. Don’t go here!

I'm hoping we got them on a bad morning. Our server was new, day 2 he said. We saw him 3 times. To get our order, to drop off our drinks, and then again to tell us our order ticket got lost. Our table went without any service for 45 minutes. We asked 2 separate servers if we could get a refill on coffee. They stated they would send our server, but that never happened.

If I had read reviews before eating here, I would probably have thought that people were just being picky about their food with all those negative reviews. This food was terrible. Can you mess up a pancake? Absolutely! And they did. They served uncooked, cold hash browns. Sausage was totally suspect. We were too embarrassed to say how bad this was. We ate what we could, paid the hefty bill and left.

Decided to try out the pancake house for breakfast while visiting Townsend as it received decent reviews.Upon arriving about 8:00 I noticed the tables were far apart for social distancing. I don’t know if this is the regular layout or not. My waitress wore a face mask although it sometimes didn’t cover her nose. She was the only worker that was wearing a face mask. The waitress was nice. The food came out quickly. I think she checked on us once but didn’t ask if we needed refills, not a huge deal.I ordered the western omelet. The kids ordered pancakes and waffles with bacon. The bacon was crisp which is how I like it. The omelet was pretty good. The omelet came with hash browns, hard to mess hash browns up. The waffles and pancakes were ok. The waffles were better than the pancakes.I have some really good breakfast places in southern Indiana and Louisville so it takes a bit to get me excited over a breakfast. Overall, it was good and worth going considering the service was fast. I think it was about $36 for the 3 of us.

This place is WAY WAY overpriced for what you get. We’re a family of four and didn’t order anything crazy yet left spending almost $100 after tip. The food was served on what felt like hospital plates. Lady in the front had a face like she hates her life. If you have to come here do NOT get the ham it was super salty. I ate it only because I was raised not to waste food. The only good thing in this place were the servers. All of them had a smile on their faces.

So we were going to go to another restaurant with a name the is simultaneously matter-of-fact what they serve and in my opinion kindof silly... but they had a ridiculous wait time and it did not seem like the wait was going to be worth it. So, instead, we headed up the road and ate here. I'm glad we did. I had a great Reuben with fried okra (great pairing). The staff was friendly and we were seated right away. Next time I'm in the area I might do all 3 meals there

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME. Food is horrendous, and the staff are rude. I had the steak and eggs, the steak came out completely flavorless and I couldn't even drown it in A1 because it was so raw I wouldn't eat it and I typically like my steak to still be mooing. I let the waitress know and she was nice about it, offered to have the cook put the already cut into steak back on the grill (not give me a new one) and the lady at the front was extremely rude. When I told her about the steak she promptly informed me of the total on my bill. Oh and the coffee is worse than your local ran down gas station. Seriously, don't waste your time with this place.

Hungary for breakfast food, served all day here, we stopped on our way to the Smokies! Glad we did! Food was fresh, hot, delicious! French toast, eggs, and smoky crisp bacon were cooked to perfection and delicious! Husband's western omelet, fried taters and huge biscuit were all fresh and delicious! Highly recommended. Skip the chains, and try this friendly restaurant!(The thin dude at the cash register was kinda sober spirited, but everyone else appreciated our business. The waitress and other staff were very helpful and nice!)

The chicken wings were good, but I had the roast beef sandwich. It was so dry that I couldn't even swallow. Then when I paid I paid with a card. I usually always leave a 20% tip as I was a prior sever. They put on a $20.00 tip. Called and was told they would send me a check. We will see if that actually happens. They seemed so aggravated we were there we ended up boxing our stuff to go. They could have told us they were about to close when we came in around 2:30pm, and we would have went elsewhere. If you pay with a card check what they charge you. Will not revisit.

We almost didn’t go because of some of the reviews but those negative reviews are dead wrong - this place is amazing. Food was amazing, service was spectacular and the value was great. This is a true gem and we highly recommend.Kid-friendliness: Very family friendly

We always try to find local places to support when traveling. Food was awful. Hashbrowns were as dry as cardboard and flavorless. Omelets were extremely dry like they had been made hours before. Coffee is $4, omelets start at $15. It was our most expensive meal of the trip and it was just breakfast! Our waitress was an older lady and she was very kind.

I've been looking forward to trying this place since I'm usually a big fan of breakfast foods. I have to say that I'm extremely disappointed.1st the food/ service. The lunch menu was very limited. And due to some good limitations right now there were not many options.I ordered the egg plate with eggs over medium. The eggs were cold and runny/slimy. Yuck. I received 1 piece of dry toast (butter on the table) and dry potatoes. My sister ordered scrambled eggs with extra cheese. They were flavorless with no cheese. We all agreed the bacon was very good.My niece, who eats very little ordered a 1/2 French toast plate with no eggs. So for 1/2 French toast and bacon for a 9 year old (no kids menu) it was $9.When I questioned a few things while passing the bill, I was basically blown off.Now the restaurant itself. You can tell it's an older building. The door was dirty (at least they cleaned it while we were there). We elected to sit outside which was nice. The bathrooms however..... neither stall locked (ummm, hello, creepy), the roll of paper towels was wet and sitting on the counter and the light was so dim it was like sitting in a clicker on a rocky chair (toilet was very rocky)Over all, very disappointing experience here. I hope they get things figured out and improve, but I doubt I'll be back.

The waitress was a very nice lady, but the food was bland, dry, and cold. The food is comparable to poor quality nursing home food. It was extremely overpriced. Save your money and appetite.

Place was set up nicely to maintain social distancing. Our server politely greated us and sat is right away and started on our drinks. Our table and the place were all very clean.Looking over the menu I was intrigued by the 15 dollar club sandwich. Server said it was big will i had to see it.Yup it was big. As for taste it was a club nothing really special about it. Fries were imo great and just how i like them.I'd definitely go back but next time i think I'll try a burger.

It was ok. Chili needed to be reheated. Steak was a bit tough though it was cooked medium. Decor was nice rustic. Waitresses and hostesses were great.

We were seated promptly, and our server took our order right away, but that was about as prompt as things got. We were given a booth with a slightly sticky bottle of Log Cabin syrup and a basket of creamers (one of which had already been opened), butter, jelly and sweeteners. The tabletops had advertisements on them from sponsored local businesses. The room had a bar in the far corner that was obviously not in use and was being used as a catchall for storage. Meanwhile, a lone TV on the wall silently flashed country music videos. The menu had plenty to choose from, and the prices were reasonable. I tried biscuits and gravy with some sausage patties and coffee. The order was a bit long in coming. Food was served on a plastic rectangular platter. The food was there, and it filled the void in my stomach, but there wasn't much taste to it.I felt sorry for our server. They had a harried look in their eyes, was visibly perspiring, and obviously needed more help. If I asked for anything, it was at least five minutes in coming. They were doing their best, and were polite in all my conversation with them, but they were obviously being stretched too thin. When I went to pay, I noticed several signs that said they offer different prices for customers who pay cash. Normally this means if you pay cash then the cost is less since the business pockets the entirety of the sale. So I announced this to the hostess once I got to the register to pay. She rang up my order as it appeared on the check with no discount. Why, then, bother with displaying the signs? In spite of all these things that detracted from the experience, the sizeable parking lot was full, and people kept coming in. There is obviously a loyal clientele, and the restaurant was clean and kid friendly. Maybe I should try the pancakes? This establishment really has the potential of being the go-to-place to get a bite if it can provide more servers, more flavor, and clearer policies. Also, ditching the defunct bar area and putting in a few more booths there would do wonders for the atmosphere. I may give it another try.

Six of us ate on a Friday mid-morning on our way home from vacation. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, and the food was great. Because it was mid morning, the entire menu was able to be ordered from. I ordered the roast beef sandwich & fries. The fries were perfectly crispy and the sandwich was delicious. My daughter ordered the pancakes and bacon, and she cleaned her plate. My husband ordered the country ham breakfast and biscuits & gravy, and he was very pleased.I overheard the waiter telling somebody that the gravy is homemade by an 80 year old man every morning. The old man comes to the restaurant specifically to make gravy, every morning. This is a legitimate small town, locally owned pancake house. If you are looking for authenticity, you will find it here!
