Rural King is a great store for all things country. From spring chicks and ducklings to gardening soil, seed potatoes and onions, car and mower/tractor supplies, large bags of corn for deer and turkeys, wild bird food and feeders etc. It is like a superstore specifically for rural areas. Very friendly employees, quick check-out and a free bag of freshly-popped popcorn. They even have clothing that is especially good for outdoor work in the garden and on the farm.

Very disappointed about how the chicks are taken care of ): purchased 8 roughly 36 hours ago & we are down to 6. They have a great selection but it is pitiful. There were 2 dead in the tanks when we were looking. The smell was horrendous. When I was driving home with them, the smell was so nauseating I had to cover my nose with my shirt. I have bought chicks over several years now & have never seen conditions like this or had this happen with chicks dropping dead. The kids that were helping me were so sweet and were just filling in and apologized for how dirty they were. Something needs to be done ASAP. These are little lives. If I’ve seen 2 dead in the tank & 2 dead at my home, there must be dozens at minimum.I love this store & the kindness of the employees. I hope this issue is fixed.

Visited your store on 5/1/24, and needed to use the restroom. That had to be the nastiest restroom I've ever seen. The urinal was overflowing urine onto the floor. I tried to use the stall, but when I stepped in there, feces was all over the floor. I couldn't even get close to the toilet without stepping in it. I went to the customer service desk to report it and the girl acted like she didn't care. Never said they'd get someone on it, nothing. I'm very disappointed.

Very disappointed. The quality of care for baby chicks is horrible. We purchased 8 chicks 8 days ago. Lost one and went back for replacement. Shared concerns about how unwell the babies looked in each stock tank. I picked a little one that was so full of energy for my replacement. It passed a few hours later. Went back and picked from a different tank and purchased an additional one. Less then 24hours another passed away. As of now we had 2 survive. Most of the babies were so weak or dead in those stock tanks. I made sure to let the Associate know about them. He said oh I will get them in a moment. Then walked away. Others were shopping for chicks and said it sad to see how they do not care like they once did. We will not be purchasing chicks from the sweetwater rural king again. Not saying we won't shop there for other items but not for chicks. We did purchase more chicks from a different place not rural king and those are thriving and full of energy 5 days later.

Truly disappointed in the lack of care and compassion for the baby chicks in their care. There were numerous baby chicks dying and already dead when I was there. I went to customer service to let them know, they pointed out the young man to help. He was with a female coworker who said to him where's Mark. They said they would take care of it though. I went back to the chicks and waited and did the best I could to keep other chicks from suffering. No one showed up. I went looking for another employee who could help. There was another young man pushing a container that I asked if he could help. We found the young man from earlier and he said Mark was supposed to take care of it. He followed me back to where the chicks were. Once he moved their water container out of the way it was much worse than you could initially see. He had to have put more than a twenty dead and dying chicks in a "to go" container. I have no idea what happened to them from that point. Rural King, this is beyond unacceptable!

I came here to get chicks a few silkies and a few regular chicks and I haven’t even had them a week and they died! We went back and the employee said that some kids like the throw popcorn in their area and that’s what kills them. I’m so angry they won’t do anything about. Maybe keep the chicks somewhere where they can be safe! Don’t come here to buy chicks unless you want them dead and your kids to be scarred for life. I would love a refund but they won’t do anything about it. Genuinely disappointed

Not very organized, things were in a disarray and few employees were to be found.. we had to go down each and every isle to find what we were looking for, I have to say RK stores are usually better than this.

Unfortunately after buying chicks here, I will NEVER BUY CHICKS HERE AGAIN! Customer service is very spotty. Some are exceedingly helpful and others are unfriendly, even rude. I purchased twenty chicks, 8 have died and another two are sick. Coccidia. Yes, I got about three replaced under their 24hr guarantee and the rest died just barely outside of that window. Now I’m fighting to keep the rest alive just over a week later with treatment. So sad! Such unhealthy and weak chicks. DONT BUY CHICKS OR FEED HERE. Buy/order chicks from an AgCentral location and their feed. SO MUCH BETTER!!!! Lesson learned for me, hopefully this saves you from learning the same harsh lesson.

I really like Rural King but whoever is managing the Sweetwater store needs to step up their game. I was in the store yesterday browsing and I couldn't believe the number of items on the shelves that had no price. I would estimate 20% of the items had no price. I am very price conscious so I refuse to put an item in my cart unless I know the price. I drove from 40 miles one way to shop at Rural King. I will give them one more chance. If there is no improvement I'm out.

Amazing variety. Great prices. Clothes, shoes, tools, farm supplies, guns, etc, etc. Lots to see and buy in a Rural King.This store seems to be a little low in stock. We were shopping a little before the holidays and this could be the reason.

Had to leave 1 star to get to leave bad review. Smh ..... Rual king in sweetwater says to handicap people " screw you folks we don't want your money. " They say this because in 3 years of asking them to fix or replace their electric carts they haven't, and looks like there's no intentions to do so . Those carts are so bad that if you get a fully charged one it dies before you reach the back departments . Employees tell you well bring another one and it dies almost immediately on arrival to you the maryville store is No better

Love the store. I get frustrated with how many things are not priced. No price? I don't buy.I have called into the store to see if they had sackcrete in stock, before making the drive, and have been left on hold until I finally hung up and called back to no answer. My son bought 10 chicks and had 4 die within 36 hours. Thankfully, we quarantine any new additions to our flock because we also found mites. When I reported it to them, the gal at the service desk didn't seem to care.I go there when I know what I need and buy when it actually has a price on it. I no longer by animals from them. I wish they cared more about their customers. The store has so much potential.

Prices are advertised as low, a typical ad to draw customers away from other like stores and the same theory.Truth is, prices are no better than any other big box store.Higher than you are led to believe, just like Walmart, playing gimmick phrases like PRICE ROLL Backs, which are actually lower the price on one item and Jack it up on three others.People should realize, advertising is a tax break paid for by tax dollars from OUR INCOME and all advertisers are well written scripts thar are offered to any want to be actor who can read the script most convincingly to make you think they are really concerned about saving you money when in fact the facts are, HIGH OROFIT MARGINS FIR THEIR INVESTORS, NOT TO SAVE YOU .ONEY BUT TO PAD THE BANK Accounts of the stock holders or investors!!All businesses are equally biased to take, not give!

Don't misunderstand the halfway raiding on this. I like rule king. I don't know what's going on, though. They're not stocking the shelves anymore. The prices have gone app 3040% which everybody's gone up. We know but I don't think there's extent. They're getting a lower inventory and even if I was looking at a $30000 tractor that was only the 23000 about 4 months ago. There's a problem. I like it. I hope it stays in business but i'm not gonna go there many more times and not get what I go after.

they tend to be short staffed, but this location for the most part is staffed with good people who dont mind to help or answer questions you may have shawn their customer service floor rep and cathy are always glad to help out and If your purchasing a firearm make sure to see wendy she's knowledgable with firearms and will gladly inform you of any sales or new inventory that fits your interests. If you are shopping rural king this is your location hands down.**Update**unfortunately it would appear The good ole RK doesnt choose its management from the same pool of good folks that work their floors. Let me start by saying i have shopped with this location since its opening day, thousands upon thousands in guns alone not mentioning the ammunition for them and i wont go into the rest of the grocery lists of items ive bought from you, after the events of saturday the 13th ive cut up my harvest card, rural king you have officially lost my business as well any word of mouth to my friends i have sent to the King which tends to go far in a small town. I wont discuss the matter any further here if the store owner cares to reach out I will gladly have a conversation with you should you care to reach out. As seen above i dont mind a bit to brag on quality people deserving of such, I also care not a bit to point out bad apples and your store manager nate is piss poor with service.

Bought a 5x8 small tire trailer, got it home and put it in the garage, lug nuts were loose along with the tires were low on pressure. Anyways found a big tire 5x8 trailer at tractor supply I wanted instead. Contacted Rk and they said their return policy on trailers is that u can’t return them. I haven’t even used the trailer. Go to tractor supply I ve already checked with them. They have no problem returning a trailer. I’m done with rural king. Nowhere is it posted at store or online about this policy.

Rural King reminds me of the old time General Store only on steroids! They have an excellent variety of products and brands. Great pricing and should be your first stop when shopping for hardware, tools, automotive and lawn care needs, hunting, camping, work and casual clothes, footwear and much, much more. Order online or shop the store. I’ve had good experiences with their customer service as well. One of my favorite places to shop.

I really, really like Rural King. They have EVERYTHING! Tractor stuff, gun stuff, cooking stuff, farming stuff, camping stuff, car stuff, pet-care stuff, horse stuff, cow stuff, clothes and workweek stuff, anything a man could want! But my wife and mom love it, too, so it's not just for boys!

Glad to see more U.S. stuff, but careful though, check where the stuff is made before buying! Saw a lot of patriotic stuff hypocritically made in foreign countries. Take the time to support our American jobs!Great place to get all your dry goods, farm and garden, clothing, and all kinds of stuff. Showcase store of Sweetwater, Tn for now!

Absolutely adore rural king! We buy all of our dog and chicken feed here as well as I use them to train any dogs I have doing board and trains!
