Kind, inviting and accommodating staff. They were delighted to have us at their establishment. The food was delicious. The fried pork chops, yams, neck bones, pecan pie and banana pudding did not disappoint. I was stuffed with plenty of leftovers. Stop by and support. I will be back soon.

This was not what the reviews said. When you pull up, please judge from the outside because inside is worse. Their deli area sucks. The food was not fully cooked from the porkchops and gravy to the turnip greens. I ordered 3 plates and wish I could be refunded because it was not worth 1 cent but paid $30 dollars.

If you're in need of a home-cooked, soulful meal, this is definitely the place to go. I originally ate here over 10+ years ago and I recently visited and the food was still just as amazing as the very first time... I have *never* had anything from their menu that I didn't absolutely love. Absolutely one of South Memphis' hidden gems.

I love the food and the people. You get an unbelievable amount of food for the money. Everything is freshly prepared from scratch daily, and they do not use processed or can foods. It is most certainly the healthiest soul food in Memphis, as well as the best ! Oh, and be sure to Save room for desert. I love the peach cobbler so much, that I order it by the pan. In a word: "yummie".😋

If you are looking for soul food in Memphis, most days, this is the place to be! It's soul food y'all so don't think about calories or beef vs pork for the beans etc. Lol! They have made some updates to the lobby but for those of you who aren't accustomed to some old school grocery / steam table facilities, you will still be a bit apprehensive. On a good day, my favorite is the turkey wings, dressing and greens. Check them out!

Looks can be very deceiving. It may not look like much on the outside, but on the inside, this place has some of the best homecooking you'll ever have. And you get your money's worth! And make sure you tip those hard working ladies jammed up behind that counter! They deserve it!

Veggies not cooked with pork, not salty, friendly service, clean. I've been a customer for about 8 years. I get 2-3 dinners a week. Their food compatible with the Atkins and Mediterranean eating plans.

Small down home neighborhood grocery store, where the big draw is the hot dinner plates. For under 9 dollars, you get a large soul food plate to go. Very friendly staff and great food. I pick up for the office every week and I would recommend this place to everyone.
