We just adopted two of the sweetest little kittens. They named them Mickey and Daisy. We renamed them Kai and Aria. They are brother and sister. We have only had them one day so we are still getting acquainted but they seem to be adjusting well. The people we worked with at the center were nice and helpful. It is obvious that they care deeply for the animals in their care. I highly recommend this center.

Took a dog in that did not work out for me. Tried to contact them a few days later to check on him, and they would not get back hold of me.I am amending this review. I did not adopt the dog from BCAC. I adopted elsewhere because the dog was going to be euthanized. As someone who has always adopted from shelters, and always had dogs, this particular dog was unfortunately not going to work out. He was too much for my wife to handle when I was at work (wife is disabled), so in his best interest of finding a better home, than my situation, I gave him up. I was never a person who wanted to have a dog in a cage or a chain. I had a huge backyard for him to be free in, but he jumped on my wife one day, and it almost broke her arm. Although I surrendered him, I still loved him, and had called to check on him and see how he was, and no one would ever communicate with me. All I wanted to know is that he found a home, and was doing well, because I never saw any pictures of where he had been adopted. I am sorry about the misleading comment that I had adopted him from BCAC. I have attached a couple pictures. Thank you.

Adopted a 10 year old male cat threeweeks ago. Max is doing great, still trying to fit in with another cat but were getting there. This facility was the best one of 10 we traveled to and would highly reccomend their services.

I went to look at their dogs, they were extremely helpful, McKenzie was very patient and kind, full of information. They all seemed to actually enjoy their jobs there and care immensely for the animals and actually finding them a good home. I highly recommend this shelter, lots to choose from. I adopted Zorro, he's a pitty who's a little over 4 yrs old. He was the longest resident at the shelter. He is so well behaved, he listens and is definitely happy to be home with me. Thanks to this shelter we were able to find each other. We're very happy together.

I'd like to tell you that I adopted my best friend here with cute pictures, but all I got was someone's voicemail, no call back, and a locked gate when I tried to make an appointment in person.I've never been to this location before, and it looks like I'll never be able to. I don't understand how they adopt out pets when it's impossible to make an appointment here. based on some of the reviews, sounds like they probably just adopt out to people they know and everyone else gets the run around. pretty sad, honestly.

My daughter was forced to, due to living arrangements, take her baby back after three months. It broke all of our hearts but we didn’t have a choice. A few hours after drop off, one of the employees called her to ask if the puppy was having any health issues because he wasn’t doing well and may not make it. The puppy was fine before we dropped him off and we didn’t notice any problems. The employee was very rude to her, sounded sounded like she was accusing her of dropping off a sick dog. There was nothing wrong with the puppy and we were absolutely shocked to hear that the puppy had died. I just don’t understand what happened and how he can be gone. We are heartbroken and miss him terribly.

I adopted a doggie they named Miller. I changed his name to Bailey and he is the best doggie ever. Had him 10 days and I don't know how I got by without him. I think he rescued me more than I rescued him. I lost 3 dogs in a bad divorce and have been in a bad mood for as long as I can remember and suddenly I am not in a bad mood. There is no way to be in a bad mood with a dog that needs you. He has only barked twice and that was because he didn't know where I was at. He doesn't seem to like being more than a few feet from me. I am a OTR trucker and he has made the road easier and less lonely. This dog saved me and I thank the folks at this place for saving him for me to find.

Took our new kitten to be spayed at Blount County Animal Center. We pulled up with an appointment and a volunteer gave us our paperwork and took her. They were very nice and explained everything in detail. On the return visit that afternoon we pulled around back and retrieved her. She was spayed and given her vaccinations all for free. We are on a tight budget and this helped a lot. This center is professionally ran and staffed with great people. Thank you so much for everything. We appreciate your kindness and professionalism.

Everybody we spoke to at the Blount County Animal Center was really friendly and helpful. The cats seemed well-cared for and the Center is low-kill, meaning they only euthanize animals if they are in very poor health or are too aggressive to safely place for adoption. The facility was very clean - not an easy thing to maintain there I'm sure!We were looking for either one cat or a bonded pair of cats and one staff member looked at the cats with us and told us about them. While there was a bonded pair available, we opted to adopt Ziggy, a black cat who had been at the Center for almost 13 months. Apparently, black cats are hard to find homes for. We were able to visit with Ziggy a bit and found he was very friendly and people-oriented. Bagheera Major Tom Ziggy Stardust is, as promised, a very sweet boy and he's happily settling into his forever home. That makes three of us who are delighted and grateful to Blount County Animal Center.

They were very patient with me when I came in multiple times to interact with the cats. When I made my choice they let me know that the cat I chose was not 4 years as her paper said, but around 10 years. As an older cat her adoption fee was lower, so I appreciate their honesty. They also found that she had a UTI and gave me free antibiotics.Spooky Soup and I have been together for a year now and hopefully be for years to come.

My husband and I are so very thankful for this animal center! We had a unique situation and they were very compassionate. They fit us in to adopt a dog same day, within minutes of me calling! They were so kind and didn't rush us while we looked and met with dogs to find our perfect match. We are so grateful for their flexibility and letting us take sweet Bernie home with us❤️

I went down with my family after promising my 11 year old daughter a kitten. While looking there was a black one with brown eyes alone laying purring at me. My heart melted. His name was originally Lightning but we changed it to Midnight.We went into the other room and there was another kitten that was black and white. He would not be quite. 😂😂😂. Boy I’ll tell you! He would not stop talking to me. He was not gonna let me leave without him. His name was originally Yacko. Wonder why? We changed his name to Mr. Cooter.We went back a month later to get the boys fixed. You’re never gonna guess what happened. We went and looked at the cats. We ended up getting another 2.There was a beautiful gray tiger with hints of bright orange. He was so loving. Just soaking it up. His name was originally Chico we changed it to Monkey. We were gonna name him Squirrel because he runs around your body, furniture and house just like a squirrel would but we decided Monkey would be easier to say.We then found the cutest most sociable kitten. She was talking, sticking her paw out of the cage. Darn near jumped into my arms when I opened the cage. Her name was originally Alice we changed it to Baby. She is gray tiger with white belly and paws.The house has been full of Love since they came home. Running around playing as I type this. They can sleep where ever they want but usually 2 of them end up sleeping with me. If I sleep in bed or couch.When we came to get the 1 kitten for my daughter we were informed that they had 70 kittens. 70! The volunteer who helped us her name I do believe was Tanie. She was amazing! She cared so much for these animals. She was full of positivity. I really appreciate her and her kindness towards us. Everyone was amazing. The director also came out and thanked us for helping them with finding homes for these amazing creatures. The shelter was spotless!The Great Architect of the Universe put us in charge of this earth and every creature on it, and may they/them/he/she or whatever it is bless you with abundance, love, wealth and balance. On 5/12/23 I stopped in to check out this little doggo that I saw on their website The person that was helping me was very nice and was very helpful and informed me that the dog I saw had been there for 120 days due t I him having such high energy in my opinion that would make a great companion for my dog, but one of the dog walkers was constantly rude to me and I never said a word to her, she started in me as soon as I went back to see the dogs while outside I was on one knee playing with the dog I wanted the dog walker started to yell at me on the other side of the fence telling me not to hold the dog down the nice lady that was helping me told her that I wasn't holding the dog down I was playing with him the dog walker walked away while playing with the dog and looking at him the dog walker came to the fence several times and called the dog away from me then she would tell him to sit and give him a treat the lady who was helping apologize for her behavior but for what she wasn't the one who was constantly rude to me, so I originally set an appointment up so my dog could meet the dog I wanted, but I felt unwanted there, and sadly I decided to pass because I didn't want to waste my time and not get the dog and be treated that way again.

Nicest animal shelter I have ever been in. Very well organized. The staff is great! Very clean. Doesn't smell funky. I visited every dog in the place. They have some beautiful, happy, friendly, pits! Alot if volunteers helping out doing God's work! Keep up the good job guys!

These people are amazing ! Such a clean, welcoming place. All the animals were clean, not scratching at their ears/biting at their skin. The adopting documents were handled swiftly & professionally. They even chipped my kitty while I was waiting, filling out my part of the paperwork. On a scale of 1 - 10, these folks rate an 11.Thank you one & all for caring so well for my little blessing.

refused to comunicate with us about our sick cat and our kitten. we have been calling every week to check up on her and her baby the entire time she has been in their care and we have had to fight for information every time. moved both of them into foster care without telling us anything about it. she was a tiny cat which gave them concern about how we were treating her but they refuse to actually find out if she was actually treated badly. we understand that their shelter is full and that foster care was the right choice, we arent mad about their choices regarding her and her kittens care. we know they would not hurt her but we also know they have obviously not cared about hurting us or our trust in them.

My husband and I dropped off dog and cat food donation. We noticed it is a well run shelter. Very clean inside. Many dogs were being walked outside while there. All puppies and young dogs we saw were well taken care of.

Staff very friendly, helpful and informative. We adopted the sweetest kitten a few weeks ago. Adoption was quick and easy. The staff that was assisting us gave little Tucker (August) a kiss before handing him over! Just an overall awesome experience!!!

I adopted my kitten Clarabelle here . The ladies working are all very helpful and the adoption process was very smooth. I was impressed by the cleanliness and well run facility. Went Friday to an appointment to adopt a dog. They said the dog was on hold till Tuesday over a small scratch on the neck. I offered to pay in advance they wouldn't take the payment. Called first thing at 11 am to find out they already adopted the dog I wanted. I have a huge yard and huge house in a great neighborhood. The dog would have been treated like royalty but for some reason they are not on the same page of what they are telling people. If your getting a pet from there I would call back the next day if they say three or four days. Because the one I wanted was adopted the very next day after they said he was on hold for 3-4 days.

They refused to allow me to adopt a dog all because ive been in to the shelter a couple times to get help with dog food "wasn't even for me I was helping someone out" but they had to be all judgemental and yell at me saying in front of a lobby full of people that I don't deserve a dog I can't take care of the one I've got "my dogs are very well taken care of" and this was Susan that talked to me like this.... I went to young Williams and had my furr ever friend the same day I met him and you don't have to be rich to go to young Williams js 🤬

I found the facility to be very nice, clean and the animals seemed to be well cared for. The staff were polite and helpful. Also very patient as I asked if they would bring out 4 different dogs to play with outside. And they happily went in every time to bring another dog out. They know all about each animals personality as well as the story behind how the dog came to be there. Overall I had a great experience there. Much better than the one I had at a Knoxville facility.

If you want to adopt a dog or a cat, this is the right place. They deliver the animals with everything under control and at a low cost, and if you can go to donate time or items that they need, it would be great.
