Chip and his crew just finished up redoing the entirety of the floors in our new house. We are blown away by how amazing they turned out. Our project was converting the color from Honey oak to a dark brown. The color is consistent throughout the house and there isn’t one complaint we have with the job they did. He and his crew were also outstanding, keeping the house as clean as possible for the duration of the project. In addition, to bring clean and doing exceptional work every one was friendly and respectful of our home. Their attention to details on small things like thresholds and vent covers were over the top. I cannot give enough accolades to Auten Flooring and the work they did in our house. They were referred to us and we will be referring them to everyone we know who is redoing their floors.

Beautiful work done in a timely manner, in this case installed on concrete slab. We refinished a screen porch into this sunroom. Among all the subcontractors who worked on this new space, only two (also heat pump installers) were truly excellent. Their installers were prompt and did a great job. These floors put the “high end” laminate floors in the rest of the house to shame. We will definitely hire them when we are ready to replace those.

Let’s start with WOW!!! Chip met with me at my new old house promptly when he said he would. I had just purchased a 100 year old house with original heart pine floors. Floors had about a hundred years of poly and use. His crew rolled in and wasted no time at restoring them to their original beauty. His master craftsmen designed a center piece where a fireplace had been. “Mace” did an absolutely beautiful job creating a work of art that will last another 100 years.I gave Chip a deadline that was pretty aggressive and he delivered on time. Amazing work! Auten took our old red oak flooring from beautiful to amazing. By sanding out the the v-grooves and painstakingly applying four coats of poly, our floors are now absolutely breathtaking. These floors were installed in the early 1970s and were not very well-maintained over the years. Thank you for saving our floors and making our home that much more beautiful. I highly recommend working with Auten. They take the time to do things right and have the same attention to detail that you would when working on your own home.

Chip Auten and his crew exceeded our expectations on our floors. We can't get over how beautiful they turned out. We chose 10' white oak with European oil finish.Chip met with us at our house to get the measurements. He also came over to discuss questions prior to our commitment. We met at his showroom to decide on the type of wood and to finalize the contract. The process was well worth the wait and the personal attention to detail has been amazing.Chip is passionate about wood and in particular flooring. More importantly, he took an interest to be sure all of our questions, concerns, and needs were met.The crew was also very neat and efficient. I came home from work during the three-week process of installation to completion and everything was neat and orderly. They never left a mess during the construction/installation process. I only saw the crew once as they were packing up their tools on the next to last day of the oiling process.We will hire Chip/Auten Wide Plank Floors again as the need arises when we get to the next phase of our home renovation.

Chip and his workers did a phenomenal job for us. Our parquet floors were almost 40 years old, and pretty beaten up. Part of the floor had been covered with a custom fitted carpet for 20 years.. They removed the old carpet and pad, sanded the parquet, put three coats of finish on it, and made it look beautiful! We couldn't be happier. They were professional, worked hard, and answered all of our questions. We have one more area that has parquet, and we will probably have them back to do that area one of these days. When I moved to my new house I found the dark wood 25-year-old floors oppressive and wanted to rip them out and start afresh. I’m so glad I called Chip Auten instead. On very short notice he was able to come for an in-home consultation to assess my floors as well as my preferences and lifestyle. The next day he sent me his recommendations and his estimated costs to restore my floors to like new condition in a stain/color of my choosing. I was so impressed with his expertise and reasonable price for this major refinishing job. Chip worked with me to set a start date for the work that best suited my schedule.The work itself was completed on time and within budget. I was so impressed by the men who did the sanding and staining. They kept me informed of each task to be accomplished at the beginning of the day and at the end of each day let me know what to expect next. They did a fantastic job prepping the area to contain any dust/particulates created during sanding. At the end of each day they cleaned up and placed their equipment unplugged and neatly stowed out of my way. When the plastic protective drapes were removed at the end of the job and my furnishings were placed on the ‘new’ floors, I was delighted there was no clean up for me to do! And these floors are perfect in color (natural red oak) and finish (satin). If you think your old hardwood floors need replacing, I would definitely recommend you first let the folks at Auten Wide Plank Flooring come see if they can’t be restored to floors you’ll love!

We chose Auten after hearing very complimentary comments regarding their work at Blackberry Farm. We knew they would provide excellent quality workmanship as well as product.The Auten showroom has beautiful large scale samples to view, which most flooring companies don’t provide, making it so much easier to envision what your floor will look like when complete. They also have wood species you don’t find everywhere, so you have so many more choices from which to pick. We chose a Brazilian Cherry. Sure, you can get a less expensive prefinished wood flooring, but it won’t be something out of the ordinary or nearly as beautifully finished.The owner of the company is very much involved in the work so you can be assured that it will be a job well done. He came to our home to see where we planned to lay the flooring and to explain their process. When the crew arrived to start he was there and popped in multiple times during the work. Each day, my home was left cleaned up and supplies neatly packed away. They arrived on time and worked consistently until the job was finished. Everyone working at my home was respectful and professional.We’re very pleased with our beautiful new floor and are so glad we chose Auten.

This was a big project for our home and we spent a lot of time researching and deciding what flooring we wanted and which company we wanted to install our flooring. Everything about Auten’s made us choose them. We were treated with respect and patience when we took our time inspecting flooring types and colors! We chose 6inch wide plank solid oak flooring and we are so happy with our choice. We also had our stairs and railing replaced to match. The floors are beautiful and the craftsmanship is amazing.
