Bought a Christmas tree from there and the guy said all trees were tested before put onto the floor for defects and that was a complete lie! The only section that does work is the middle the price was bad until I knew the lights didn't work at all. Will not buy from there again without making them prove it works

PLEASE STOP DONATING TO THIS LOCATION…FACEBOOK MARKET PLACE IS BETTER……I went in today and asked to see more couches they brought me to a truck in the back. There were two couches and a set of night stands…the couches has stickers saying $30 and the night stand set saying $20. I was so happy about to have everything I needed for my first place….until the guy told me no those stickers were from the yard sale before the previous owners donated them because they didn’t sell and I now needed $300 for the couch and $100 for the night stands…when turning it down and going back insides to browse and tell my other half who I was on the phone with that we wouldn’t be able to get anything because they marked the prices up so high….the employees heard me on the phone without realizing and just thought I was complaining out loud….which proceeded to make the employee tell me to go outside with him so he can beat my brains out.

This location has a wide verity of clothing, and furniture. Some prices seem reasonable. Not very organized; stuff just put on the shelf. Usually find some decent things every once in a while.

I feel that the price for items are excessive.I posted this a year ago. Stopped today to see if things had changed. Found a $150.00 price tag on a mismatched twin mattress set. You tell me someone that's down on their luck trying to find beds for their children that can afford prices like these.

The pricing in this store is extremely overpriced. This place should be considered unaffordable for the prices they want to charge for used items.

This is the only Salvation Army in the Tricities and surrounding area that has prices this high! Literally selling things that are at the Dollar Store for twice the amount. I enjoy shopping at other Salvation Army’s but tiny ever return to this one. This is (as other ppl has posted) the only thrift store I’ve ever seen use a permanent black marker to list prices!Change in management maybe a good start and contacting headquarters to let them know how this store is completely out of alignment with all the other stores in the area. Definitely not living up to the mission statement and core values of what this business is supposed to do for communities.

I found a few things I was gonna need a pair of gloves ( new), a nice big, nice scented candle (new), and jacket like new for just $10.

Prices are outrageous for used items. For example a glass loaf pan was $8-well used, needed a good cleaning. Buy brand new at Walmart $6. Most items were priced similarly.I understand it goes to a good cause. But you would sell more at a lower price point. And still help out the people buying them.Won’t be back.

They're charging double than retail value on some items, which is insane considering they getting their inventory at no cost to them.

I used to enjoy shopping here when I visited Kingsport, but prices are beyond ridiculous now. They wanted $5.00 for a non-branded, zippered pencil case!

Horribly overpriced for a thrift store.Don’t waste your time. Salvation Army Thrift in Bristol is 💯 better. In Kingsport go to Goodwill or Habitat ReStore.

We like thrift stores. We love the Salvation Army in JC. We also donate to the Salvation Army. Visited this location. Prices were a little high. They write the price in a marker type pen or something on the actual item itself (pictures, glassware, statues, etc.) 🤔

The Price's were to high. Makes me angry every time cause they rip off people. The same brand washing machine was 200 something each both washer and dryer. Why don't they do a 2 for one.price.. They're a rip off. Don't waste your money here.

Had a wonderful experience! I don’t know what other people were talking about because these prices were great when I went. A nice man jumped to help us throughout our entire shopping experience. 10/10 would recommend. Especially for younger people. So many good finds!

Didn't realize we walked in at closing time. Owner stayed there to help us find everything we needed. He was more than generous. We bought a couch, futon, chair, village piece and he gave us discount for package deal and threw in another item for free! Super friendly. Also since we just moved to the area he gave us food recommendations as well! He was the best

Decent selection, ABSURD pricing. One candle had the original price tag on it-- $5 new at Big Lots-- which was scratched out (but still legible) and "re-priced" at $5, half used!!! They also had used basic wire fruit baskets priced at $10-12... for comparison, they had similar items at a nearby Goodwill for $2-4. Will certainly be going there instead in the future.

I don’t even know where to begin this is the Salvation Army correct the place is supposed to help people well the manager Jim definitely knows the definition of highway robbery!!! His prices are absolutely outrageous he is not willing to work with people and even his employees think that he’s absolutely ridiculous the lady and gentleman that helped us were very nice and considerate and was willing to help us in anyway but dear Jim came in the picture I will be contacting headquarters on the situation we need to pat Jim on the back for his high prices and help with the Salvation Army !!!! $175 for a tall 4 drawer dresser abs and small 4 drawer one !!! Once again I’m gonna remind you this is the Salvation Army Jim!!! Let me not forget to mention that probably over 80% of the stuff is donated I bet Jim’s bills are paid

I used to come there all the time and loved it. However, the inflation of prices on these DONATED items are ridiculous. I mean you have zero money invested in these items. The prices used to be fairly priced. Now you are better off buying new items for those prices. For example, I was there Monday and a cabbage patch doll was $10- and a repro might I add. I saw a ceramic cat figurine for $6 and a mattress for get this $150!!! You can get a new one for that price. It's a thrift store for a reason. If I could give negative stars I would.Update 2022- Gotten worse. Little dollar store candles for $4, kids shoes $6 and $7. Used sidewalk chalk $3.

Why do they respond to positive to reviews and not bad ones? Who runs this place?? Who prices items? You’re going to sell a used big lots candle for $5 that was originally listed at $5 new??? What kind H E double hockey sticks sense does that make? It’s always empty in here and generally disorganized. Do not come here for thrifting or needs, go elsewhere.

Rude old woman working there , the tall skinny one , hateful too . Prices way too high and now they don't even have books anymore which is the main reason I stopped . Wish I could give less than a 1 star rating.

I love to shop at thrift stores. I really enjoy finding a great bargain. Good selection of merchandise. Sometimes things can be a little pricey but not too bad. Although I really dont enjoy hearing the employees there talk about people, their customers past or not. It is really unprofessional. If your going to have a private conversation make sure to do so in private, not in front of your customers. I also hear employees bad mouthing other thrift companies in the area. This is just ugly and inappropriate for the work place. Although friendly in your face makes me wonder what is said once we walk away?

This Salvation Army has become one of the places that me and my Dad always like to check out when we come to Kingsport. They are always putting out more stuff and the prices are great. The employees are are super friendly and eager to assist customers any way they can.

Don’t shop or donate at this store. They recently have new management, he is a man. I have shopped this location for many years. Never again , the prices have quadrupled on almost everything in the store. I guess they are catering to a new clientele. You should be ashamed.Example of crazy prices; used mattresses sets 250.00. I guess making money is the bottom line.

I do not know who’s pricing these items but they’re way overpriced. I felt like I was in an antique store instead of a thrift store. This used to be one of my favorite stores to go into but until they come down on their price as I do not think I will be returning.

They had a pretty good selection of stuff at pretty reasonably priced. The people were really nice to. When my two little ones were starting to get rowdy they gave them a stuffed animal to help ca them down. I felt that was very kind of them.

Found nice things that our family needed at reasonable prices. We all enjoyed our time searching for treasures that we wouldn't normally consider buying if we had to pay full retail price. Appreciate the simple approach to pricing items. Much prefer this system over the ones used in other thrift shops; less complicated and keeps the prices low.

Staff was very nice. Items for the home were way over priced for a thrift store. Found items priced as retail but worn or scratches found an small wood candle stand about 5 inches tall priced at 6.00 was cracked chipped and worn
