Had an amazing day at N.B.F. State Park with my wife! The well-laid-out trails and detailed map made exploring a breeze. The museum offered stunning views of the river, and the staff's knowledge about the park's history was impressive.Bonus: pet-friendly park, so our two dogs had a blast too! This marks our 5th state park visit in under 60 days – each one adding special memories to our adventures!

A great little getaway for the weekend. We rented the rustic cabin, and the view was awesome. Also, I got some cheap souvenirs at the gift shop so it was a win for me.

I camped at 2 different backcountry sites. That both had shelters. The shelters mean I had to pack in less gear. That's always nice. The trails to get there were decent also. Both shelters were approximately 3 miles from the parking area. It was a great experience. Definitely bring water with you. There are no water sources near the campsites.

We stayed at the cabins at this location and were impressed. There were deer that would come up to you for food, although we tried to refrain from feeding them. We took our kayaks to the water and had a great time fishing.Overall, I'd return here with my family for a fun weekend.

I have lived an hour away all my life and never been to this park in all my years until now. We RV camped during a long holiday weekend this January. The campground was pretty empty and quiet during our stay. The park was a bit of a drive from the interstate but it was an easy tow. The campground was small, but very clean and quiet. The bathhouse was also very clean and the showers were hot and included a spray nozzle which was nice for my daughter. We did not see a playground although the map said there was one. The trails are well marked and beautiful. We hiked part of the interpretive trail by the campground up to Pilot Knob! The view was def worth it. We loved the educational aspect of both the interpretive trail and museum. The sweetest most wholesome part of whole trip was when the museum clerk, Amber, texted me after we returned to camp to let me know she found my sticker I purchased but left behind. I had already chalked it up as a loss halfway through the hike back when I realized I left it. She not only sent it with the ranger but also shared the wifi password with us. Both employees went above and beyond for us for a $3 sticker and it was amazing! Be sure to take a trip to the lakefront too! It's gorgeous. We found a fun natural rock playground we all enjoyed one beautiful Sunday Funday. I highly recommend this park for a weekend getaway or even a day trip!Restrooms: Bathhouses were cleanDog-friendliness: Dogs are welcome on leashes

It's tucked away from all the hustle and bustle of the city. Extremely friendly people, visitor center is small but unique and well maintained. We stayed at Cabin during this trip, cabins are super spacious, clean and tidy! The layout flows really well brings in lot of natural sunlight. The cabin is located near the river and got great views from the living room and both bedrooms.Bathrooms are clean and well stocked with linen, toiletries. Bedrooms are big and both have 2 full size beds. Cabins can easily accommodate 6 to 8 people.Lake and beach area is walkable from the cabin, there are lots of hiking trails around. There is a unique museum close by to the cabin area which shows the history about the area and there also some species like snakes, tortoise, salamander etc.The only downside is the activities which are very few.Overall, great place to visit!

Like a mini slice of heaven, I have 5 kids ranging from 6-15 I have to say it was a great place to go with them, the trails are nice and if you get map will help give you ideas best trails for you. My kids had a blast, and I enjoyed making memories. We are definitely going backRestrooms: Very well kept. Just make sure you have a shower bag to put on the hook, not tons of place to set anything down, and if you do way water goes everything will get soaked, so shower back or even just plast bag is ideal

Lots of trails to hike and nice views of the lake. Museum and monuments to view. Some construction work in progress July 2022 so not every location inside park was accessible. Historical sites and value here: Civil War cemeteries, encampment, cabins and cannon; railroad history and Civil War era turntable; private cemeteries also (3 census total, that I found). We saw deer and raccoons while hiking. Small swimming beach and beautiful views of the lake/ river.

We stopped by here yesterday when we were dropping my son off at summer camp. This is a absolutely beautiful lake. We drove up the mountain it's very steep but a really beautiful view. We saw a very cute little cabin. Then we found a beautiful beach and in the rocks on the beach are thousands of tiny shells. We had a great time.

Fantastic Park, so many activities lead by Paige. This gal was so interested in everything nature and loved to pass on her knowledge to the kids. This was our 2nd time at NBF and we were soooooo happy to see Paige again and go to all her actives. Every state park needs someone like Paige. We stayed in the cabins this time and they were great, comfy beds.. wish the internet was better at the cabin but the internet is not why you go camping.

A beautiful park with friendly staff and rangers and lots of trails and water activities. Happy Hollow campground has quiet, shaded rv pads with full hookups, a shower house, and a dump station. The cabins have great views of the lake and have full kitchens, big bathrooms, and spacious bedrooms. They are very clean and very well-maintained. There is also a super cute secluded log cabin with modern amenities, a fire pit, and a hilltop view of the lake. Primitive camp spots are available, and they're perfect for paddlers or fishermen, as there is boat access nearby, or you can pull your yak, canoe, or small jon boat right on shore. NBFSP also has a day use area with a beach, playground, boat ramp, and plenty of parking.

Absolutely beautiful. Calm, relaxing and perfect. My Grandson and I recently went Glamping as the cabin was nicer than some hotels I have stayed at. We went on a Full Moon hike with Ranger Aaron and he answered all sorts of questions and gave a lot of great information about the park and wildlife. The staff was super nice. We wanted to get away and unwind, hike if we felt like it or just hang out on the porch, it was perfect. We will be back.

This is a nice campground although small and well kept. It is not conducive to just walk from place to place as there are a lot of hills. The cabins are very nice with a deck on the back overlooking the river, but while the trees are green, you will not see much of the water. The cabins are built on hills overlooking the water, but you will have to go downhill to get there and back uphill to get back to the cabins. The cabins have nice beds with linen. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you need to cook except your own food. Bathrooms in the cabin are large and roomy. The couch appears to be a little worn and serves its purpose. Some of the roads need work as they have potholes and rough patches. There are a few pavilions for family reunions that are nice. There are a few camping spots along the river with great views. The rv camping area is nice with pull through sites.

Just returned from Nathan Bedford Forrest State Park and it was an incredible stay. Everyone we met were so friendly and helpful from checking in with Teresa to the housekeeping staff who ensured we had a clean, very well stocked cabin and of course the Rangers were very helpful in explaining details and history of the park. The cabin overlooking the Tennessee river gave us a perfect place to look over The Battle of New Johnsonville, have a cigar and a good Kentucky Bourbon while savoring a ribeye steak just off the grill. Beds were comfortable, clean, everything we needed were there. We brought our on paper towels, condiments for our meals, brought our own towels as we like big fluffy towels. Everything we needed for cooking was there, pots & pans, utilities, coffee maker, filters, and with a little for thought them was anything we didn’t have for our stay. Enjoyed the gift shop, museum of the life on the river over the years, made a new friend, and watched a couple videos of the Battle and on Forrest. The staff there were friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. Thanks to The State of Tennessee for supporting our history and heritage and presenting it a way we can all learn from the past and the people and not letting it be changed or erased! My brother and I are your biggest fans and ambassadors and will look forward to returning soon!

N. B. Forrest SP has miles of hiking trails, many of which you need to hike to reach. You could spend days seeing the place. We spent a day there and it was a fantastic trip. Eva Beach is separate, but part of the park and worth the short drive. The river views from the trails were stupendous, especially in fall.

Celebrated our 25th family reunion here this past weekend! It was the 4th time we've held our reunion at Nathan Bedford and it didn't disappoint! The office staff and ranger were so kind and helpful with our many questions and requests. Looking forward to staying here again!

We stayed at the RV campground at site 15 which is at the top of the campgrounds. All sites have grills, fire rings, water and electric hookups. The bath house is clean and easily accessible from all sites. The park has great trails and the interpretive center on river life was a welcome surprise.

I cannot say enough about this park. We camped in a tent by the lakeside from November 7 to November 11. After everyone left Sunday, we pretty much had that part of the park all to ourselves. We enjoyed a wide array of hiking spots, wildlife and scenery while we visited. The park is immaculate and well cared for. We always felt safe, even when all the other campers left, thanks to the park ranger regularly patrolling.Every single employee we met was just nicer than the last, but I want to say a special thank you to the nice lady that was working at the museum on November 9. She let us stay as long as we liked to really take our time learning about the pearl button industry and looking at the snakes. She was such a sweet lady and invited us back any time during our stay to come watch a movie or two. I hope someone can tell her that we had EVERY INTENTION on returning, but we ended up getting engaged (surprise) so we were quite busy the rest of our stay! Someone please tell that nice lady that we were so grateful for her hospitality. The facilities were well kept up, especially the bathhouses. Very clean, looked and smelled nice too. It was nice to have that option available to us as it was my first camping trip! We plan to make this an annual trip and can’t wait to see ya’ll again!

We stayed with family at the Group lodge, this place was perfect! We were surprised with the spaciousness offered and the renovations to the boys and girls sleeping locations was great! There was a small creek that ran along side the group lodge. This was GREAT for the kids while the adults sat around the camp fire area close by. The large windows in the large group area allowed the space to feel even more open - even during the rainy days. We would definitely recommend!

We had a beautiful time! We choose lake front camping and it was great! And the staff was so friendly and helpful! The state trooper does frequent drive bys to make sure everything is ok. Lots of hikes around the campground, and at the main office they will give you a map of the area. Bathroom is super close to the lakefront as well as a water pump for fresh water. Lots of spiders around ... but we are outside in their territory. All in all good time

There's not a better place I can think of for a mother-daughter get away! The cabins are very spacious and the cleanest of any I've ever seen. The view from the deck was stunning. Every person that we had to contact with while making arrangements etc were super super sweet and accommodating. We will definitely be back!!

I needed a kayak and Mrs. Elaina was able to find one for me. One of the ranger dropped it off at our campsite. The campsite where we stayed was right in front of the water. It was easy to get in the water then go kayaking. The water here is kind of flat and calm. We also went hiking and the hiking was nice. Bring plenty of water because before you get to the actual hike, you have to hike your way to the hike. There is a 3 mile hike, a 5 mile hike and a 20 mile hike. You’ll find signs about history along the way. We went to the gift shop and got some really nice stuff. There’s a beautiful scene by the gift shop and a small museum inside the gift shop. The 3/5/20 mile hike starts behind the gift shop. The bathrooms at the campsite are clean, but there is no shower. You have to go to the cabin/RV area to take a shower. The showers were nice and clean. When you stay here, raccoons will visit you at night, so make sure you put your food away. Also, bring flip flops or swimming shoes if you want to get in the water. There is tons of rocks, so you don’t want your feet to hurt.
