Heavy traffic delayed our expected arrival in Birmingham where we intended to eat, so we stopped along the way and were very pleasantly surprised by The Tennessean Travel Stop.The whole place is very neat, clean, and modern looking. The bathrooms are very updated, clean, and attractive.There are three eating opportunities: a Cafe type counter, a sandwich counter, and the sit down restaurant with bar. The restaurant has a buffet as well as a menu that is soon expected to expand. We opted for the restaurant. Prices were very reasonable and Melissa, our server, was very friendly and helpful. The food was very delicious, with the fries being better than most other places. Our only regret was that live music was scheduled to begin soon after we needed to leave. We would have loved to stick around for that!We were welcomed to wander and take pictures of the restaurant, bar, and upstairs patio.

Same name and some of the same crew, but that's about it. Nice buffet ($18 w/drink), and a sandwich spot. Store is really well stocked with plenty to choose from. New driver lounge, laundry facilities, and showers are excellent. Showers are $10.60 if I remember correctly. Stop by and give it a shot...I'll definitely be back!!!

AWESOME place! The new rebuild is fantastic, food is great & buffet & store is very clean & organized with a large selection of souvenirs and homemade fudge, all kinds of goods n candies and Excellent staff. On Friday & Saturday nights they have bands and a bar on second level. THIS PLACE IS SO MUCH BETTER THAN BUC-red!

Wow! I think this place just opened. Exit 22 as you come into TN from Alabama or head out of TN on 65. Very nice, clean, restaurant, lounge, bbq area, ice cream shop, gas station and stage for performances.We had the breakfast buffet and it was delicious. $12.99!! The biscuits are sooo good! If you want something more than a plain truck stop, gas station or Waffle House-go here!! Lots of unique souvenirs, candy and even country hams!

All around beautiful place with great people! There is a good amount of room to park your big rig with showers and driver's lounge. As of this review, they've only been open, maybe a week. The restaurant is a buffet for now till they get going, didn't eat there but the food looked great. They do have nice laundry area too. I don't recall stopping at the old place. The new place is really nice and can't forget they have ice cream place too!

They really fixed it up after the fire. Great place for a restart. Showers $13, buffet about $18, bar(beer about $6), lounge and laundry(machines $2) and live music at night on the weekends.

I stopped in here to get a bite to eat. The BBQ was really good. We need more places like this because it really enhances the travel experience. Definitely one of my new favorite places.

It’s a nice clean truck stop. The food is a little expensive for what you get and it does have that yuppie vibe, but I still liked it. The bar is a nice touch. Parking is free.

Stopped by for breakfast. The buffet was hot and ready. The hashbrowns, bacon and cinnamon rolls were excellent. The eggs and country ham were OK. The table was not clean. The bathroom was clean as was the rest of the store. Service was good. The store part had lots of interesting things. Did not get to try the BBQ or ice cream. Next time.

Not a truck stop, but it has a fuel island for rigs. Its a family destination on a road trip. Stop for breakfast, lunch or dinner, ot just for cocktails. Fun gymnasium for kids too. Great food and atmosphere

We enjoyed the buffet. I usually don't enjoy buffets, but this one had good food. Some of the meat selections were meatloaf, sliced turkey, pulled pork. All were good. It was around 17.00 dollars each. They've only been open for a few days, so they are working out the kinks. All the staff were very friendly.

I visited here on 1-20-24. After 2yrs of being closed they've finally rebuilt bigger and alot better than it was. They now have an indoor kids play area in a hugh building by itself. The parking lot is nice and big and all paved no pot holes. The travel center itself boast many great amenities. From nice hugh restrooms with plenty of sinks and paper towel machines to an ice cream/donut shop, private drivers lounge with nice cozy seats and big screen TV and talbles,to a sandwich shop and then there's the nice big buffet and restaurant with nice comfy seats. Nice place to visit and eat even showers are hugh and very well priced.

The renovations that have been done since their unfortunate closure due to fire.CLEAN BATHROOMS!!! The building is state of the art, clean, well appointed with merchandise, Pop's BBQ, the ice cream shop, and the buffet is amazing!Definitely worth the trip (or stop)!...AND there are *24* Tesla Chargers!

The rebuild is absolutely stunning! Visually appealing and the hospitality is downright amazing! We stopped and enjoyed an amazing meal at the buffet and enjoyed walking around. Definitely a spot worth visiting!

I came here for some breakfast it was a small menu but still had what everyone usually wants together.Their was one waiter for Breakfast but still service wasn't slow but I did sit for about 5 minutes before being seen, the breakfast was alright nothing really stood out, bacon was greasy eggs where a lil over done.But the bread was burnt one one side and barley done in the other, but the hashbrowns were barley browned, I spent $14 here the soda was $3 by itself but it was a big glass so I don't expect anyone to finish more than 1.This is just a review of the restaurant not the store, the showers are clean and look very nice, I was provided a towel and wash clothes, the atmosphere was a good easy feel and it had super hot water, the shower was only $12 and it was definitely worth it and theirs a tons of washers and dryers, the bathrooms are well kept and same with the store. I'd give the store higher if these two were separateI'd eat here again bc it was a okay meal for a okay price, it's a BBQ restaurant but had no BBQ breakfast options.

We tried the restaurant tonight and it was buffet only and the place was packed, we waited maybe 5min before being seated. I believe it was $21 for the buffet. Not bad at all, food is a little bland, but not a deal breaker at all. The atmosphere is amazing, they went above and beyond on this place! Our waitress, Melissa, was on top of it. I would also like to give a shout out to Ceron Mays who was doing a little picking on his guitar, very unique renditions my friend.

Service was slow. Food was cold. Potatoes were not done and cold. They wouldn't even melt the butter after 10 minutes. I was brought mashed Potatoes to compensate for the baked potatoes being cold. Hamburger steak was not done and it was $22 for hamburger steak..... not a fan... people beside of me ordered breakfast and they ate a few bites and got up and left!!!!

Well I had went to eat around 930 pm or so and we decided to go to the Tennessean.. Well we got a huge surprise when we finally got there about 10 minutes til 10 on a Sunday night everything in the truck stop was closed but I looked it up on the website and it said it was open 24/7. I tried to email them about it and of course never heard back from them. And them being a truck stop and also considering how they used to be open 24/7 before the fire why would they change that. Me I like my food later on in the night I can't eat really early cuz then I'll wake up starving again early morning.. So I think they really need to stay open 24/7 again cuz Giles county does not have any restaurants that do that anymore...

Wow. The best truck stop east of the Rocky mountains. Clean showers ,good food, very nice bar and lounge with outdoor seating. Laundry room and the friendliest staff. Drivers please keep this place nice.

Beautiful redesign. Prices are a lot higher, but they're clean and friendly. Pops' bbq wasn't as fresh as before. They have a new little buffet restaurant, but we didn't try it.

$7.99 for a bbq sandwich that barely had any meat on it??? You’ve gotta be kidding me. I was so excited for this place to come back as I’ve been stopping here since I was riding on the truck with my dad. I stopped to grab something to eat and go and couldn’t believe what they were charging for 1 sandwich. I could’ve went across the street to McDonald’s and got a whole meal for that. Y’all can do better than this.

This was my first time ever stopping in here. I do have to say, this is a very wonderful place to stop. The restaurant is absolutely outstanding. The store is really great as well, very clean and super friendly staff (or at least all that I encountered). I will most definitely be stopping in again when I get through the area. This is also a great place to take the children, if it be the restaurant, the ice cream stand. They even have a children play place out behind the restaurant and truck parking area.

This is what truck stops USED to be... Absolutely loved it. Clean... Friendly... Great food. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was, I got the ribeye and it was too thin. It didn't seem like a 14oz, and the prices of the food. But everything is going up food wise,so... I will definitely go again.

The new store is fabulous. But it’s like they are try to get you to pay for the new building all at once with higher prices and worse food. The Pops BBQ sauce was reasonably priced at first. Now it’s 15.00 for the same size bottle or at least that’s what I was charged because when the clerk rang up my 2 BBQ pulled pork sandwiches and the bottle of sauce she had to go do a price check because it didn’t come up when she scanned it. But 33. Dollars and change for two sandwiches and a 19oz bottle of BBQ sauce is outrageous. And the sandwiches were not of the same fresh quality as those before the rebuild. Before you could dress up your own sandwiches with the bar that had slaw ,pickles,onion, and you picked the Sauce you wanted. Now the sauce is on the sandwich and the meat looks like they got of canned pork and put some sauce on it. I took a bit and spit it out. My dog wouldn’t even eat the rest. Sorry to say. You have lost a customer. And I was really disappointed after watching and waiting for the rebuild to finish.

It's OPEN now! Been waiting on one of my favorite places to reopen for what seemed like eternity. Lol. It's bigger and better with a huge breakfast! Nice big dining area. Bar upstairs with indoor/outdoor balcony seating. Diner bar, Ice cream and Donut Bar. Nice Drivers Lounge and showers. Lunch and Dinner Buffet is open. All kinds of merchandise. Kids color books and games/toys. Necessary and unnecessary items. Love the pineapple 🍍shake too! FYI: Get the large straw cuz there are pineapple chunks in it like there used to be. New Outdoor rubber coated picnic tables within a fenced area. The BBQ smoke is mouth watering😋 The Staff is excellent and friendly❤️ Tesla Charging Stations Too.

This is the 2nd time we have been here and the results are the same. The mixed vegetables are on the menu, but not available. Smoked chicken was tough, had to drown it in sauce to make it easier to eat. The baked sweet potato was room temp, the baked beans were burnt, and the BLT sparse in content, over half the sandwich had nothing on it. Paid $14 for a BLT and home fries and got about $6 worth of food. The place is nice, clean bathrooms, but it appears to be all glitz with no substance.
