I’ve been going to Exotic Tropicals for years. I love being able to shop at a small business where they are friendly and helpful. I honesty can’t say enough good things about them. They also take great care of their animals! This is the only place I shop for my animals. Highly recommend you check them out and support a local small business!

Very friendly and knowledgeable. A 40 minute drive but well worth it. Just started up a salt water aquarium and they’ve been very informative and supportive. There’s a lot to learn in the hobby. Mistakes will be made, but I love to learn as it will eventually get easier. I highly recommend this place.P.S. Their fish tanks and store are super clean. In my Town the only fish store is a complete mess with dirty fish tanks. 🙄

Love this place. Use to go here all the time. For all my fish needs. Then got sugar gliders, and got everything I needed here. Well decided to get back into the fish. This is where I be coming. Best place to come. Super nice staff and owners. Will help you make all your decisions safely. Update 75 gal. Tank setup and going great. 4 weeks in and get new fish weekly. Can't wait soon I will have my ghost knife fish. UPDATE: Love my tanks, now I have 3 tanks got another tank today this one is for 🐸 frogs. Love all my tanks...

This is a really great store if you need healthy fish! The employees are very helpful with any questions, I also buy my pet rats here and never had any problems out of them. When we can, we drive the hour and 20 minutes to get there just because we love the store so much!

Willing to do water tests & help you build a proper fishtank environment, even for those of us when have no idea how that to stuff works! My daughter absolutely loves visiting!

I love this pet store over any of the other ones. I keep small animals often and I bought 2 female guinea pigs from a petco in cookeville and they were extremely skittish they still are and no matter how much I train them they just won’t but about a year ago I started buying small animals from this place and they are awesome. You can tell they are handled often and treated well. I bought 2 mice recently from there and they are doing awesome! They were tamed before I bought them they will literally just walk into your hand. Also have some very cool fish and they look/seem very very healthy. This is much much better then places like petco. And the owner has been there every time I go and seems to be a very hard working man. Highly recommend.

Great shop! Kept very clean and has a great selection of freshwater fish. All fish I have purchased have been free of disease. Also a great place to pickup fish supplies.

One of my absolute favorite places to visit. Even if I'm not in the market to buy anything, I love checking out the new fish they get in. The owner is very helpful when I am looking to buy a new fish, and the rest staff is always very nice. I'm just glad I found this place and decided to check it out. This is definitely on my top 10 places in Cookeville, probably even the top 3.

Exotic Tropicals is the best! The staff is so helpful and always nice. Ive always liked to drop by and see their pet selection. They always have a nice selection of fish and snakes. Ever since my daughter got her corn snake we only shop at Exotic Tropicals. After researching other pet supply stores in the area you can not beat Exotic Tropicals prices. I drive from middle Kentucky just to go to this store. I adore this pet store more than anyone I have been to. I have NEVER seen an ill animal, and they always take wonderful care of everything. They ensure all of their animals are healthy and you can tell. They keep all amphibians and reptiles in proper Temps and humidity, and same with their fish. Their prices are reasonable, and their workers always go absolutely above and beyond. I cannot recommend this petstore enough.

This is a place that has been open in my hometown my entire life, and with good reason! Their expertise is like no other pet store! Not to mention Dawn who is the saltwater expert and the owner I believe as well as all of the stuff I have met takes the time to answer your questions They are patient with newbies to the salt water hobby and take the time to answer any questions you have. Instead of just trying to sell you a bunch of stuff that you may not need at the time, they give you the answers you're looking for whether it means they're making a sale or not after spending countless hours online I love going there because I know instead of seeing a lot of conflicting information and being confused I will get a straight answer and leave knowing exactly what I need to do to continue my newfound reef addiction. 😉😁 If you go there one time you will never go to another commercial pet store.

The lady working here is THE RUDEST employee I've seen in a long time. You could learn to say things kindly and not have little kids on the verge of tears with your meanness.Great selection of animals, all well taken care of, other employees were wonderful, but this lady ruined our visit so much, we will NEVER be back.

The most amazing friendly knowledgeable staff around when it comes to all sorts of animals, reptiles and fish and I have quite a few at every end of the spectrum so it's hard to find one place that suits the need of such a variety. Prices are very comparable for a local non franchised store which makes my decision to shop there and shop local hands down so much easier. Thank you

Phenomenal aquatic upkeep and selection. Each tank looks like it belongs in a home they look that good! The owner and staff are extremely knowledgeable and take great pride in the health of their animals and it is obvious looking around at their habitats! This is now my go to store over PetCo and Petsmart! Definitely recommend atleast stopping by before going into a large chain store!

Staff was super helpful and assisted me in finding what I needed quickly and the things I didn't need that weren't red tagged, I was able to take back and return to the store. Will definitely be returning for the equipment I will need for my tanks in the future
