Yankton Menards- Very poor customer service by MANAGEMENT!!!Assist GM - Ben was called in and his customer service was unbelievable horrible!!False advertisement and they do not stand behind their mistakes. In fact- when we questioned him about the product ringing up higher even though it had a tag ATTACHED to it with a lower price, he become anger that we questioned him and told us he didn’t like our attitude and KICKED US OUT of the store!!!!! Just for asking why they wouldn’t stand behind an attached tag! Absolutely unbelievable!!He should without a doubt be FIRED!BEWARE! TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!We have done a ton of business here and always had great luck with employees being very helpful, but MANAGEMENT…. Couldn’t care less about a customer!Follow up: I read other reviews and see he’s been complained about more than once!

I’m not sure how many times it’s happened the past year. But my order is over a week late. Nobody seems to know where it is. Was supposed to be on the truck today. Drove the hour to get some other stuff and thought I’d be able to get that tooo. But nope. Not on the truck. Looked up the item on the app and Sioux Falls has several. But I couldn’t get an answer why I didn’t get my order.

Shout out to the Menards Team that helped me with my delivery and subsequent issue of a dent on the refrigerator. Jay, delivered a fridge all by himself and did a fantastic job. The customer service gal in Cabinets and Appliances was also very friendly and helpful as well in helping me out. I have often had good experiences with Menards in Yankton, but this one particularly stands out! Thank you!

Have had the opportunity to get up to this menards store. Love the layout and the fact that it never disappoints me. Without question, it has what I am looking for, even when other menards in the surround area do not. Clean, friendly and well stocked. Highly recommend

Menards is always friendly people and helpful. But you got to watch the prices you can pick up the same item in either be higher than what it says on the Shelf all the time.

I went to Menards today to buy two batteries for my car keys. I asked a Menards worker for help. He was coughing and wiping his nose. I asked him if he had a cold, he said no he’s just getting over Covid. I have a bad heart and just recently had another heart surgery and I have asthma he had no mask on how can they let people go back to work that are recovering from Covid don’t make a bit of sense to me I won’t return

My family and I spent about an hour and half shopping. This place has lots of problems. 1) if you want to purchase say plywood or framing lumber. You have to first go into the store on one end walk all they to the back of the store. Wait in line generally, then place your order. You then have to walk all they way back to the front of the store. Stand in line again generally wait, because they have only one or two cashiers. You then pay, and walk out the opposite side of the store. Walk all the way back to your vehicle. You then have to drive behind the store where you'll be greeted by a guard shack. You'll then have to wait again while they do their thing. Then you have to spend 20-30 minutes searching for your purchase at 34 below zero. You just might break your neck carrying an 8' 2*12 down a flight of stairs just to load it. Good luck finding any help. If that isn't enough then you'll more than likely have to special order some of the most basic construction materials. You can spend two hours in there looking for something and not have a single employee offer to help, but if your 5 year old child removes her mask. You'll have 5 show up to interrupt your shopping just to tell you she needs a mask. Then still not offer any assistance. You're better offer going somewhere else. It's really not even convenient.

The store in Yankton. The employees are polite and knowledgeable,But if you need something delivered I would highly recommend going to Mitchell or Sioux City Iowa depending on your location.Their delivery driver is extremely unfriendly with a short fuse ready to fight if the smallest thing doesn't go his way.In a 4 minute conversation he slung the F-word at me 5 times,all because I was politely and calmly trying to explain to him GPS does not work in the location where he was supposed to drop the lumber..

To be perfectly honest my cashier was amazing her manager or whatever the blonde haired lady was, was extremely lazy. An elderly gentleman in front of us had to walk to get a price check instead of someone to whom is actually employed there. Then I was trying to purchase a jacket ( the price tag was missing)that was on sale was told by the blonde lady that it was double the sale price after telling her that it was on sale. Instead of her walking to the rack to which I told her it was she looked on her cell phone. It's not my job as a customer to walk back to where I found a rack of the jackets it's an employees. Just thinking there could be some major retraining on that.By the way when I left said 'manager' was on the phone.It's not that I couldn't have paid full price,that was not an issue in the slightest, it was principle.But cashier was great and very apologetic

Ordered 3 shelving standards online for pickup. As I entered the order pickup an employee pulling a couch was coming through. Seeing me he said “oh, sorry” and kept going. After placing the couch in pickup, he wheeled his cart away, and disappeared. Seeing he had left I rang the bell. For 5 minutes I rang the bell 10 times before finally finding another employee in the lumber area.

Bait and switch, wasted an hour of my x. Found door on sale with all the extras, told sales person who then tried charging me almost double the price, refused to honor sales price. But of course made us wait and wait and wait,then said come to the register , where they again tried to charge almost double the sales price. We walked out and will NOT be buying anything major from them again.

bought a floor lamp from them. Paid full price. Got the lamp home only to find that it had been returned previously and had significant damage. Absolutely no response from customer service and pretty much just got a big F-U from them. Should have went to Home Depot or Lowe's rather than the landfill that is Menards.

Good hardware/departmental store in town with almost everything you would need for Home Improvements, Automotive/Electrical needs, Lawn Care and lots of outdoor stuff. You can check your quick Grocery pickups while you are there for other things. Always with good customer service!

Walked by 13 employees, not one said hello, Do you need any help, I asked one employee for help and she had a blank stare on her face. This Menards is dead last in customer service, If you want service Sioux falls or Sioux city is the way to go. You would get better help shopping on line.

Had to take some ceiling vent registers back because they were to wide. Returning them went fine. When I asked an employee to tell me where I could find the aisle with the vent registers, he said and I quote "We do not carry any of those contraptions.". So disappointed with some of the employees there.

The manager "Ben" at the Yankton store should be fired!! My wife tried to buy several items that were marked $0.99 originally for $2.49. They happened to ring up at $5.99, and my wife explained that the sign in front of the item said $0.99. Not only would the store not honor the price on the sign they put up, they also didn't accept their mistake, but instead accused my wife of moving the items, or the sign. Ben even went on to cuss at my wife about it saying he's not changing the f****** price just for the customer!! Very unprofessional, and absolutely no customer service!!

Asked for assistance on finding a shower replacement knob, the sales associate didn't even know if they sold them individually let alone show me where it was. Just said it would be in plumbing. No direction, nothing.Wasn't rude, just not helpful or good service. As someone who works in management in a customer orientated business, I'm apalled at the lack of skills let alone the interest to help the employee displayed and that's the result of poor management more often than not.

Good luck finding someone to assist you. After I finally found someone they didn't walk me to the item sent me to another department (wrong one) asked someone there who didn't say anything but walked away. She came back a few mins later and took me to someone else who again didn't offer to take me to the item but sent me to another department where I finally on my own found the correct item. No one ever came up and asked if I needed help the entire 90 mins I was in the store. I would give 0 stars if I could.

The selection was great the prices were good and the employees in the back were very helpful. We were shopping for several home improvement items and other things and the employee suggested we come back tomorrow and shop with the 11% off all purchased items. We decided he was right we will return tomorrow and will save At least 50$ with the sale!

Decent selection. Relatively low quality items in most departments, but functional. Must wear a mask in store which makes shopping in a large store much more difficult, especially if you wear glasses (fogging). Will avoid shopping here as much as possible and order quality items elsewhere unless I need something immediately.

Your Covid restrictions on not allowing kids in the store is getting out of hand! You have made it virtually impossible for customers with children to shop. Some People don’t have alternative options to take their kids. What are wanting us to do, leave them in the car?!! I guess I’m curious why does your store hate kids? I prefer to shop at family friendly establishments that don’t hate children.

I couldn't get what I needed from my local Menards, thankfully the Yankton store had it. I was helped by a very nice gentleman and his helper. The older lady at the register couldn't have been nicer, and the two gentlemen that helped me load my truck were very friendly and kind. All in all it was a very nice shopping experience.

Generally I love Menards. It's my go to home improvement store. I've always liked the Yankton location for selection but haven't required much in the ways of customer service. Last night I needed though help with a few things. Starting at the contractor desk an employee politely went to find a person who worked the desk. She came and was very impersonal. Everything seemed short and as if she needed to get back to something else. I mentioned needing help loading some plywood and I don't recall her responding to. I went over there and didn't see anybody at first so I went over to the dimensional lumber and finally found a cart I needed to load it. After I finished that I found a different employee and asked if he would find someone to help me load the plywood. He went with me and started loading. An employee did come over and apologize that she came to help me but didn't see me there and thought I left. The service desk lady did come by also and apologize that I didn't receive the help, which was nice. Then I needed paint. The lady was also short but helpful to a point. There is a code that they use at Menards for a true black that I wanted and she wasn't sure what I meant. I called Norfolk and she spoke to the Yankton employee, with which the Yankton employee was notably annoyed by. I wanted it in a five gallon pail and she told me that the color won't be true in that large of a pail and suggested doing one gallon pails. I didn't really want to deal with the time of single gallons and wasn't sure if I trusted her so I said I think I'll just sit tight. She responded in a joking but not really comment of so I guess that was just of a big waste of time. The checkout lady seemed a bit rude and short as well and at this point the whole experience had drug out to 15 minutes prior to closing. The guy who helped me load my pickup after checkout was nice. We ran around the back to the lumber yard and the gate guy was very nice as I apologized for being so close to close. I went into the shed where I needed to go and passed an employee, the one who was supposed to help me load things inside. I parked no more than 15 yards away from her and by the time I got out she had disappeared. She never came back to help, leaving my wife with arthritis to help me load. Definitely my least favorite Menards experience in recent memory.

We just moved here from Texas and needed some supplies for our new home. In Texas the governor had unconstitutionally “mandated” masks so we were looking forward to being in a free state with a governor who left mask wearing up to the individual and did not FORCE the face coverings and for the most part we have had zero issues other than Menards. We walked in and shopped around a bit. There were literally 5-7 people in the entire store, so socially distancing was not an issue whatsoever. After being in the store for about 20 minutes and not having anyone harass us about our not wearing a mask, the manager comes and follows us around telling us that we HAVE to wear a mask or leave. We explain that we cannot wear masks and she states that if we don’t wear masks, they will refuse service and call security. By law, no one person or one business should ask for proof of exemption or deny services to a person who cannot wear masks. We left the store immediately and have not and will not return. We will also make sure to let everyone know of their very poor business practices.

Went into store to get paint samples and ask a couple questions, couldn't find anyone working until a lady approached us and said our 3 yr old needed to wear a mask in a very angry tone. Your rules state child must be in arms length or in a cart if not wearing a mask. Very rude unhelpful employees.

Consistent poor customer service since they opened. Today, about 8 employees at the desk behind the cashiers just standing around talking. Again, could not find amyone to assist. Will NEVER go there again.

Picked up an online order only to find the product completely damaged once I got home. Menards idea of customer service is to tell you that you can drive all the way back to their store to exchange it when it was their mistake. Beware of pickup orders, it's apparently their way of getting rid of damaged items. Make sure you open everything before you leave
